The view and the location are both outstanding. We stayed in an oceanfront 1-bedroom on the 3rd floor. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The beach is literally right there. There are stores and restaurants a short walk away. It's also a quick drive to many other fun activities in San Diego. The only negative is the pull-out couch in the living room isn't the most comfortable, but that's true of most pull-out couches. If you're going to use the pull-out couch and have room in your luggage, maybe pack a mattress topper to add a little extra cushioning.

Southern CA Beach Club is bar none the best long-time local condo rental place on The Strand with panoramic views of the white water surf, the pier, and the Oceanside Beach. They provide well-appointed, comfortably furnished condos with full kitchens and all the amenities of home away from home. They have elevators and luggage carts which make it very elder friendly and convenient. Their staff is warm, welcoming, EXTREMELY helpful and VERY friendly. They go out of their way to make their guests feel like family and owners feel like they really own their home away from home. We witnessed one of their staff member coming down to help an elderly lady traveling alone to unload her luggage and get it to her condo, something we have not seen at other timeshare/condo rental units where we have stayed. Then overheard them ask if there was any other way they could help her to get settled. We like the fact that there is a filtered hot and cold water machine on the floor where we stayed, so we no longer have to haul drinking water by the gallons to our unit for a week's stay. The ice machine is right there, as well. They offer free bikes to check out, beach chairs, umbrellas, and all the extras for the beach like beach towels, etc. So we do not need to haul all that with us either. We loved So. Cal. Beach Club so much that we decided to purchase another week's stay within 3 weeks of our first stay, and have decided to sell our other timeshare down the street. We can't say enough about how much we love So. Cal. Beach Club and their 24/7 amazing staff! From the General Manager, Sean Herriott, who sets the tone of outstanding service and caring for guests' needs to Nicole, front desk agent and room/house attendant to Gabby, their newest housekeeping lady, all their staff is truly wonderful!

If you love the ocean waves and watching surfers, tis is the #1 place to stay. It is right on the water. The room is quite spacious for a studio unit and has everything you need. The resort offers beach chairs and other great things for the beach including bicycles. The staff members are friendly and have done a great job to protect all visitors from Covid.

I was excited about this property and all of the great reviews it gets. I too would have left on a positive note if we'd been given an ocean front room that we were hoping for and willing to upgrade for. Everyone was nice on the phone when I requested it but arriving in person I was told "a partial ocean view is all we can do". This partial ocean view did indeed have a corner window facing the pier and ocean but it also included a large view of a sterile, boring courtyard and a great view of the neighboring pavilion used by the homeless. We spent zero time on the small balcony facing into the courtyard. What is really frustrating is how empty the place appeared during our visit. There were never more than 6 cars in the garage and we never saw more than 3 groups of guests the whole time. Never saw a single person on the ocean front balconies. Guess us regular hotel guests aren't good enough for the nice rooms... I would have booked one initially but was never given the option.
Pros: the housekeepers do a great job maintaining the rooms as everything was very clean and updated, lots of chairs, umbrellas, beach toys to borrow (boogie boards $3/day), beach cruisers also available to borrow, proximity to the beach and pier is as close as you can get.
Cons: obviously the unwillingness to get us into an ocean front room, unwilling to let us leave our car in the garage from 11am-1pm after checkout "since new guests will be coming" but check in isn't until 4pm and there was only 1 other car in the garage when we left, lots of noise between rooms and especially from above, beds not overly comfortable-we woke up sore each morning, no eagerness from staff to go above and beyond.
If an ocean front room is important to you as it is to us I would not stay here unless you have a 110% confirmed in writing guarantee that you'll get that type of room. If you don't care then it's probably worth a stay but I don't think we would come back.

Firstly, I want to say most importantly...the staff (minus one person) was amazing. Sincere, kind, friendly, they look happy to be there and work there. It was really refreshing & honestly was the best part of the "hotel". Exception was, an older sounding lady we spoke with on the phone the day of check in. Check in was stated as 4pm, we happened to get there super early (10ish) and called just to see if there was the possibility of checking in early. The lady was super abrupt, it sounded like I was talking to someone on their personal house line, definitely not professional or friendly, and she briskly told me there is no early check in & the earliest they could do was 4pm. Fine. We kept ourselves busy. We called at 4pm, we were told to come in to check in (different from what it said on the confirmation email). We were checked in by a super friendly guy, and there was another super friendly man & women there as well. We booked a 1 bedroom. We checked in without incident, got to our room and it was not what we expected. There's a reason the common areas aren't shown in the pictures, it looks like it hasn't been updated in several years. Checking in at exactly the earliest time possible, we probably got the worst room (or string of rooms) in the entire hotel. Our view was of the door of the rooms that had the ocean view. If we stood on the balcony, we could see a part of the ocean. It was bad. I took many pics, I wish I could upload them here. But the "view" was awful,. The other guests at this "hotel" were very loud (we visited during the week), there was supposedly a curfew of 10pm, it wasn't upholded at all. Quite honestly, we had the worst sleep we had ever had..even my kids were over it. So, to summarize, I would say this is a great place to go if you're a college kid and you're with all your friends, and you're trying to party all night long, during your entire stay. BUT if you are a family with kids, if you're a couple looking for a romantic getaway, this is not your place. The people are "party" people, even the old ones. Also, FYI a lot of guests had to constantly be asked by staff to put their masks on. I felt bad for the staff because of the stupidity of it all. For example, they'd see a guest with no mask on, staff would politely ask if they had a mask, the stupid guest would say yes and reach in their pocket, show their mask, and put it back in their pocket...so the staff would have to spoon feed them and ask them to WEAR IT ON THEIR FACE.

Great location and wonderful staff, but... This is a time share property and the 'chosen' are given first pick. At $260/night you are only guaranteed a rear building room with a view of the bar-b-q deck, too rich for my blood. And if you are on the third floor of the back be prepared to be woken at 7 in the morning as your ceiling is underneath the sun tan deck and accessways.

This place must be the least desirable resort managed by Grand Pacific. Not a big place (maybe 50 units) but good location on The Strand about a block from the pier. The bathroom must have been done by low bidder due to the poor plumbing layout and the backwards shower door overlap. Lighting is terrible for shaving, Loud morons in park next door annoying plus the fools gunning their engines on the strand.. Bottom of my feet were black from flooring. Parking is in the gated underground garage is the worst ever. The side I was assigned to was for compact cars. I was driving a full size. Front desk apologized (and said they won't use it) And gave me the option to park for free by the meters on the street. To do so you must hang a placard on the mirror issued by the city of Oceanside. Parker beware, lose the placard and you pay a $500 FINE. Shocked by the prices on their high resale hot list prices and the great reviews left by others. Resort fee of $25/day is a rip.

This is a beautiful hotel right in front of the beach and the pier. You can enjoy the splendorous sunsets every day while while walking by the beach feeling the warm soft sand under your feet. On that Sunday 16 of February, the afternoon lady at the front desk welcomes you with a friendly and warmth smile as you enter the hotel. I enjoy the sound of the sea waves as I woke up every morning!

It is really a great location right on the beach and close to downtown Oceanside with access to lots of restaurants and bars. Good for kids, too. The only thing you should know is that even though they have coin operated washer/dryer at this time they don't give change or have a change machine.

Had a nice one week vacation late April. The location is great! The service is good!
With the screen door closed, can hear the waves crashing all day and all night, which is great for the soul! I would come back if only to hear the waves. There's a lot to take in nearby with the pier, and the variety of restaurants nearby. We enjoyed dining in to with practical kitchen in the condo suite.
We were well informed about Covid limitations on the jacuzzi, which is about the only amenity we found on property. Still we enjoyed our 30 minutes daily hot tub and margarita (tumbler and blender provided) w rooftop ocean view. Took the 2 hour whale watching adventure out of the beautiful harbor just a few minutes north of the property.
Lots of construction on the streets nearby and limited parking (actually very tight too). All in all, even with the distractions of construction, limited parking, this location, comfortable suite, comfortable bed, and the waves crashing made for a nice vacation..

We have one studio unit that is handicap room. Depending on your needs, our rooms can be accommodating. We have handheld shower faucets that can be installed for your use. We have extended toilet seats, shower seats, ramps for the rooms (to gain access to the room). We have an elevator so all the one bedroom and studio units can be reached with the elevator. The two bedroom units have a flight of stairs to reach the full bath and the two bedrooms. So I would not recommend the two bedrooms. If you would like to call me at 619.722.6666, I am Julie and can answer any questions you may have. Thank you!
When you are staying with us, you have one parking space. Based on the size of your car and availability we will work with you to get a great spot to park your car for your vacation. If you have friends or family who visit, they will need to park in the metered parking spots in front of the resort.
There are more places to choose from in the Oceanside area.
