The AC Hotel by Marriott Los Angeles South Bay comes highly recommended for its immaculate cleanliness and modern ambience, with guests frequently commending the pristine rooms and fresh atmosphere. Its location near LAX is a boon for travelers, who also speak highly of the warm and efficient service. While the rooms earn praise for their tranquility and modern amenities, guests are particularly taken with the comfortable beds and the delightful rooftop area. Although some note the gym's equipment and shower pressure could be improved, the overall value, including reasonable parking fees and food pricing, is widely appreciated.

This was an incredible stay! This hotel is immaculate - everything looks/feels brand new, it's hard to tell this is a 3.5 star hotel. We got a 1-night stay for a total of $123 and I could not have asked for a better experience aesthetically as well as the customer service of the front desk personnel. Frederick checked us in and he was incredibly thorough, patient, kind, and took the time to carefully explain all details of our stay with us (and even did this after kindly and patiently dealing with a pretty difficult situation with a customer before us, making my interaction with him even more impressive!). The location is in a beautiful spot within El Segundo, all of the surrounding buildings are new & it's just a clean area in general with plenty of places to eat/visit within walking distance. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone!

I stayed in a room with a king bed. It was very clean and comfortable with an ample amount of space for my needs. Internet in room worked very well for my business purposes. Large flat-screen TV had ability to log into certain streaming services (sorry, I can't remember which ones because I didn't watch much TV there). Only complaint about the room was the rain shower could use more water pressure.

I enjoyed both the rooftop bar and the lobby bar. Both had very good old-fashioneds and the wine was decent. I also had snacks which were just average.

Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Parking is available in the structure next store. I think parking is a little expensive at $24/night and guests have to park on the top level which is a little inconvenient. Valet parking is $28/night.

Location is great. There's a Starbucks within walking distance. And it's an easy drive to the beaches. It took me 30 minutes to drive to downtown LA with no traffic, 45 minutes with traffic.

Overall, I would totally stay at AC Hotels again in the future.

We stayed at the AC Marriott for our routine detox over night stay after a vacation. We got a good deal on our valet parking and opted to book this hotel as well since we got a good deal as well. We are very impressed with the hotel the comfort how everything detail was taken into consideration, it feels like this hotel was built based on bad reviews and addressed every single little detail.

Many people talk about the half glass shower and water splashes all over we didn’t have that issue, maybe it’s because we opted to use the rain shower vs the other option.

Over all we really enjoyed the property so this might be my go to hotel in our coming trips.

My husband and I stayed at the AC Hotel for two nights on our way to Hawaii. Although the staff was excellent, our room was less than excellent. We are Marriott reward members and we typically only stay at Marriott properties, and this one is not one of the better ones. It looks ultra modern, but our room had issues: the toilet seat was loose so every time I sat down, it moved. The shower only had a glass door on one half of it, so when you took a shower, water got all over the floor. Although we didn’t fall, this is definitely a slipping hazard. Lastly, I’m guessing the construction/soundproofing is less than adequate because the room below us complained that someone was running in the room above them (our room). No one was running. I do admit that I walk heavy, but I weigh 125 lbs, so I can’t imagine the sound being that bad if the construction was a little better. If we find ourselves back in the LA area, we will find another hotel to stay at that is close to LAX.

Response from VictoriaCoursen, General Manager at AC Hotel by Marriott Los Angeles South Bay
Responded Jan 31, 2020
Good morning Sue, Thank you for your candid feedback of our hotel and thank you for your loyalty to Marriott. I am very sorry your stay was not up to yours, nor our, expectations. Regarding the toilet seat, that definitely should not be happening, I will follow up with my engineering team to check on this right away so no further guests are disturbed. Additionally, regarding the shower door, we are looking into options to ensure the safety of our guests. I am very sorry again about your experience and I appreciate you bringing light to these issues. Thank you Sue, and I hope you have a pleasant day!

This place is ridiculous, got routed here on Friday night when the Marriott we originally booked didn't have our rooms we booked through a 3rd party website due to maintenance issues. Upon check in we had 3 rooms booked with 2 beds each room due to being a large party of 12 people on vacation. Got assigned rooms with only 1 king bed and went to front desk only to be told we can pay 199 for additional rooms or we can sleep on the floor and can send up extra blankets ( ummm excuse me sleep on the floor ) felt like 2nd class citizens. I asked front desk if he could at least comp 1 room and he stated "no I have already comp'ed 3 rooms for free) those rooms were paid for ...Fine whatever had air mattress in the truck from staying at family house in the prior days , and if that is not bad enough had a handicap accessible room due to limited availability of rooms and while showering almost slip and fell as shower doesn't drain water properly while exiting the shower, had water flooded all the way to the fridge And to make matter worst didn't get checked in until after 11 pm and there was a party Upstairs from my room sounded like they let a circus up there , can't believe I had such a horrible experience especially at a Marriott property would have been better to stay at a motel 6 .., very disappointing and will be forwarding this review to corporate

My partner and I stayed here on a weekend trip. The Uber from LAX was quick. We had a super early departure flight, so this hotel was perfect for us. Everything from the lobby to the actual hotel room looked modern and new. I was really pleased that it met my expectations. The room had great temperature control, bed was really nice. The shower stall is a bit strange, but it wasn’t a bad point for me. I do like that you can switch between two different types of shower heads. Small detail, but I haven’t seen that anywhere else so far.

The staff were really nice. They even gave me a bunch of bandaids when I cut my foot. Saved us a trip to the pharmacy. The valet was super nice too. Opened our car doors for us whenever we came back. Not expected, but appreciated!

And the Uber back to the airport is covered by the hotel, and as far as I remember, it’s 24 hours.

There are a few places close by. A Starbucks, a poke place, and other small businesses. Otherwise, the really commercial places are a bit of a pain to get to with traffic, but I was still happy staying here. Will return when we have a chance.

I am a Travel Agent and i will NEVER book my clients here again, due to the experience we both had with the night Manager on duty, Kenyotta. She has a very nasty attitude and is not service or customer oriented at all.

My client was traveling and prepaid for his reservation in full, however upon arrival (after midnight) to the hotel his card was flagged by his credit card company. Rather than working we me, as the TA, and allowing me to assist my client by authorizing the hotel to use my credit card to cover incidentals (which is allowed), she refused to do so *she did not say she was unable, just that she was unwilling). When I requested to cancel his reservation to book elsewhere, since she was unwilling to allow me assist my client while he sorted things out with his credit card company, she refused to allow cancellation without penalty! Unbelievable! Fortunately, after about an hour and a half of sitting in his rental car and waiting on the phone, my client was able to speak with his credit card company and verify his purchases in order to continue using his card and eventually officially check in.

I have never had such a rude, unprofessional, and unaccommodating exchange with someone who works in hospitality, especially not a Manager! Truly disappointing and unacceptable.

Let’s first mention the bad things,
1) Whoever built this hotel cheaped out on noise reduction insulation. As noted in other reviews you can hear everything going on with your neighbouring rooms. It is surprising that a new hotel would be built so poorly. I am on the 5th floor, room 503,and I can clearly hear the music going on upstairs
2)the heating/ac system is not consistent. When it turns on it sounds like an airplane is turning off. Five minutes later it turns off and then you have silence
3)when one books a Marriot there is a certain expectation of quality. Clearly this hotel is a disgrace to the brand .
4) to further reduce costs the hotel cleans the rooms every three days “to maintain your cocoon”
What a joke!!
Good things:
Valet staff
In conclusion avoid at all cost

I am leaving this review as a WARNING to anyone that may try to book this hotel and expects the hotel to honor the rate that you reserved, you may be in for a very unpleasant surprise. Since I knew superbowl was in February, I decided to make a reservation well in advanced in order to get a hotel near the stadium for a decent price. I am a Marriott Titanium Elite member, so I always book through Marriott.com to ensure the best rate. About a month after making the reservation, the hotel must have realized the superbowl was upcoming and decided to change the rate to a special event rate after I was already confirmed. I had no idea this was possible, or even legal, but they called me to let me know that THEY (not me) made a mistake on the rate and would be increasing it by nearly 10Xs from $159 a night, to $1800 a night, but since it was their error they will give me 20% off and only charge me $1440. I was understandably appalled and asked for a manager to call and explain how this is possible. Instead of calling, they sent me an extremely condescending email (see attached) explaining that while it was their human error, they reserve the rights to change the rate at any time for any reason, and that was the final decision made by marriott executive leadership. I would consider booking any other hotel so you don't get the bait and switch from this property.

Response from AC Front Desk, Guest Services / Front Office at AC Hotel by Marriott Los Angeles South Bay
Responded Oct 12, 2021
Hello Heatherc503, We would like to extend our sincere apologies for the notice from Marriott International that you have just described in your review. We would like to clarify that our hotel like many others in the area have been closed out for the referenced dates in anticipation for the upcoming Super bowl weekend that will be held here in Los Angeles and as they stated, due to a human error, the incorrect rate was shown. This is both a special circumstance and an isolated incident which should not reoccur outside of this super bowl reservations window. Again, we cannot apologize enough for this extremely rare occurrence. Please let us know if there is anything else that we can do to make this right for you.

AC is an amazing brand new hotel with spacious rooms and functional spaces, comfortable bed and a fabulous shower, all extremely clean and well maintained. But what makes it really outstanding is people working there. From the very first call to have some information  to the last minute in the hotel, AC staff was always courteous and kind. Frederick took care of our check in, which was fast and pleasant. We were impressed by his savoir fair and his ability to make feel us like a unique and desired guests. He and his colleague went beyond standards arranging our airport shuttle.   Night audit agent who offered us breakfast and arranged our airport transportation was a great help as well.
I would really recommend this hotel for travelers who want a comfortable and pleasant stay nearby the airport.
