First time at this resort and my husband’s first time in Punta Cana. The week ended yesterday but we already want to return. We were made to feel like family from the moment we arrived. The room was uniquely laid out and we found it to be quiet at our room in building 4.
The pool is a great size, allowing for volleyball at one end, swimming and other activities in addition to the swim up bar. The beach- AMAZING!! It’s spacious and for us Sunwing travellers we had access to the VIP beds right on the beach. We never had to worry about getting a spot under a palapa no matter what time we came down in the morning. We walked both directions from the resort and we noticed that there were many resorts that had not much beachfront but this was not the case with PCP.
The food at the resort was quite good and unless you are super fussy, you should, have no issue finding some yummy options. The a la cartes did not need reservations unless you had access to the other Princess resorts (Tropical Club and Caribe Club) We really enjoyed the steakhouse/Mexican and the Italian restaurants! For me, Saturday night’s Seafood night was my favourite theme night -baby 🦞 YUM.
Big shout out to the Animation team who work tirelessly each day to ensure we have fun. Whether it’s ping pong, giant connect 4, towel fights, pool volleyball, darts etc there is always something to do should you wish to participate. These same people from the team entertain at the nightly shows. We managed to attend only 1 but it sure was worth the wait. It sure looked like Michael Jackson was performing for us that night! I thoroughly enjoyed playing pool volleyball with Papi Chocolate and Crazy Chicken.
It was super windy the last couple of days and the sand covered much of the beach bar area, flipped one of the sun beds and brought up a good amount of seaweed but the grounds crew worked hard to get things cleared up for us to enjoy another day in paradise. Red flag or not, it was not going to stop me from going in the ocean EVERY day.
Last but not least I have to say a BIG thank you to all the wonderful restaurant staff. While I don’t remember all their names, they too worked long days and always delivered genuinely pleasant service. Special should out to Francesca, Amada and Jose (Italian a la carte) and an EXTRA special thanks to Raysa. This lovely lady was who we looked forward to have greet us. Her bubbly personality shone through with each smile, high five and hug she delivered. We will see you next year Amiga 🥰

We originally booked about a year ago and were traveling as a group of 20. The smaller size of the resort means that you are close to all amenities and really get to know other guests as well as the staff!
The food was great, we liked to go to the buffet where there was a large selection of food (sugared donuts in the morning are a must!) Drinks on the resort were delicious - highly recommend chunky monkeys and banana mamas! Servers at the buffet always greeted us with a smile and constantly made us laugh. I wish I could name everyone because they all deserve thanks :) Also a big thanks to the chefs and staff working behind the scenes who made everything look and taste great. While we were there, we also tried the Italian and Tex Mex a la cartes and both were delicious. We were serenaded by Jochy Sarante during our meal…they played Hotel California for us, so we bought their CD and have been playing it at home!
The cleaning, maintenance, and gardening staff work super hard to keep the place looking spotless. I saw the pool being cleaned every morning.
Freddy at the beach bar was awesome and Emilio at the lobby was not only a great bartender but a fantastic singer too!
The animation team really made our stay fun! They were super friendly and had us participating in activities and laughing every day. Jose Alberto, Papi Chocolate, Jayson, and Jasmin (tall Jasmin) were some of the crew we got to meet! I would highly suggest joining in when they are putting on activities…it is a great way to get to know new friends during your stay!
The pool party and disco at the beach bar were a blast, but I would also suggest going to the shows in the lobby (Michael Jackson at the sister resort next door was awesome too).
Isidro Polanco, one of the security guards also made sure we were having a great stay. He was helpful and was a super nice guy!
We checked out the Legacy club in the Avalon Casino while we were there. You can catch a shuttle from the front lobby straight to the club that will also return you directly to the resort. The club was awesome…it was ladies’ night, so girls got to drink for free and men got 2 free drinks each. The DJs knew what was up and had us dancing and singing immediately. We were even able to request songs from them.
The resort is beautiful, but the staff here are what really make this place stand out. We met so many people who have been return customers to this resort for over 10 years…so that speaks for itself!
The sunwing staff we dealt with were Sandy/Cindy(?) to the resort, Johnson (sunwing rep at the resort), and Holguin who kindly made sure we all made it safely through the gates at the airport. They were all wonderful people!
I loved this place and really hope to see my PCP family again soon!

We stayed for 7 nights, had a very warm welcome. We decided last minute to get married after we had this trip booked. (Last minute I know) the resort offered many packages but we went for the package called “just for two” it was a small ceremony on the beach. The resort also had a photographer they recommended and she was very professional and I felt the price was right. Because this was a last minute thing that we didn’t plan for months we did everything for cheap. Personally we would rather not blow thousands of dollars on a big wedding, so this package was right up my alley. All the staff are extremely friendly. We also upgraded to the vip package and then also upgraded to the presidential suite. Our original room was nice but the presidential suite is the nicest room in the entire resort and it did not disappoint, the only knock on the room is that it’s the closest room to the ocean and on our final night the wind blew in so hard and the rain came down so hard it was hard to sleep. Obviously not the resorts fault just a downside to being unprotected from the element like the other suites are. Food was good, nothing really made us sick and lots of flavour. The massage at the spa that was included in the vip package was great. Only 20 min but it felt like an eternity. The entertainment team was also good and are always in high spirits. The concierge service was also spectacular, I feel as though we were quite a burden on them as I kept asking for more things but they delivered every single time. The only real knock on this place is the not the resort, it’s the people who come up to you on the beach trying to pedal their stuff. All their stuff is dollar store quality that no one buys back home so don’t waste your time with it here. It’s hard as a Canadian to just ignore or tell them to piss off but it needs to be done. But if you’ve travelled to the Caribbean before you know what I’m talking about all the islands are all the same. In the end I would recommend Punta Cana princess to friends.

My husband and I just got back from a weeks long trip for our 10 year wedding anniversary and it was awesome! The hotel was great, small but lots of fun. It’s adults only so that was a plus. The grounds are beautiful, and the staff does an amazing job at making sure you are taken care of. The food and drinks were great, but I wish there was a snack bar where you could go and just grab snacks and not have to order snacks. Overall, for my husband and I we loved it all. Will we be back to the same resort, maybe. Our room was in building 5000, which was awesome. We did not have to pay extra for that building just fyi. We had a view of the pool and the beach. I sent an email a month before requesting building 4 or 5, idk if that mattered but we got it. I would say building 3,4, or 5 is best, only because they are close to the buffet, pool, and or beach. Pool towels are provided, we didn’t need the bug spray we took, but takes lots of sunblock if you don’t want to burn. In the room they provide 2 huge bottles of water, one huge bottle in the mini fridge, along with sprite, coke and two beers. No snacks in the room which was disappointing, especially with no room service. However, the room was nice, big, and cold lol. The staff made the stay, the entertainment people were great, Milton is a blast and he loves my husband lol. Jesus checked us in and was great. All the waitresses working the bars are amazing as well as the bartenders. Jonathan who is a waiter at the buffet is amazing!
We did two excursions, a local tour and Saona Island, both were AMAZING! We booked through Erica Espo, she is an independent person and we highly recommend her. Prices are affordable and we felt like we were taken care of and not just a number booked with a company.
The only things that i did not care for was the lack of snacks available, plenty of alcohol, but no snack options to sober you up. Bar is open 24 hrs but the snacks you have to order and the options are not great. Pre wrapped grab and go would be great. When the beach is covered in seaweed, provide more pool chairs and umbrellas. Also the pool bar needs 2 or more bartenders at all times with wait staff. Also, the resort could really use a club of some-sort, all the nightly activities were in the lobby and that was weird.
If you are looking for a small, but fun place to go and relax, this resort is for you!

We traveled to the Punta Cana Princess with another couple for a week over New Year's Eve. This was our second time staying at this resort and it did not disappoint. The animation team, bartenders, wait staff, front desk, cleaning crew and groundskeepers all work so hard to ensure everything runs perfectly. The New Year's celebrating was outstanding. They had an incredible variety of delicious food options and everything looked absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed all the restaurants at the resort but our favourite was La Petite Fondue. The manager, Lajara heard that I was celebrating my birthday and invited us back for a special birthday meal. It was unforgettable. Thank you Lajara and Anyensy for making our evening so special. We would also like to thank Armando (Crazy Chicken) from the animation crew for always going out of his way to make sure everyone was having a good time. Like some of the other reviewers have mentioned, the vendors did get annoying at times. We would also recommend the resort upgrade to some nicer wines.

We just returned from our second vacation at the Punta Cana Princess. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed with the dedication and attention to detail from all staff. We arrived earlier than expected, but luckily we were able to check into our rooms immediately, thanks to Silverio at the front desk. The rooms were clean and spacious. We were in building number 5, on the top floor. The entertainment staff (animation crew) work very hard and long hours. We especially enjoyed Armando (aka Crazy Chicken) who always checked in with us, gave archery lessons, spanish lessons, dance lessons and always made sure we were having a good time. Lajara prepared a special birthday dinner for our friend, complete with balloons, table decorations, a cake and attentive service. We also enjoyed getting to see our favourite waitress, Anyensy. She was always very friendly and seemed genuinely happy to see us. Our favourite restaurant was the fondue restaurant where Anyensy was our waitress. This is also where we celebrated my friend's birthday party. This visit we went to the Brazilian restaurant at the sister resort. It was a fantastic meal. Our only criticism would be the aggressive vendors who were not only on the beach, but within the resort. We would also like to suggest that the resort offer different wines, maybe something in keeping with the variety of liquor options.

Just got back from a week of relaxation in the sun. 28 degrees every day, while Lake Simcoe near our house in Ontario, Canada is still frozen! This was our second trip there. It is an 'adults only paradise.'
It's the people that make this place special. Much thanks to Sunwing Rep Hermberto for his advise along with Silviero at the front desk who helped with internet/smartphone/ printing issues. Lobby bar Frederic and Maria always greeted us with a smile. Hostess Raysa and server Israel seemed to be everywhere ( a la cartes and buffet restaurant) with their attention to detail. Juanita, Iris and Hilda made sure your coffee cup was full, your mamosa was cold and your wine/water glass was full. You are waited on like royalty!
From the people above to the staff of cooks, gardeners , maids and cleaners you are always greeted with a smile. These people put in 10 to 12 hour days and sometimes 12 days in a row until they get 3 days off.
Which brings me to my next point. Rarely (if ever) did I see any guests tipping anybody at the restaurants and bars who waited on them 'hand and foot.' It was shocking. I was appalled. People, people, people from North America and especially Europe. You just paid several thousand dollars per person for an all-inclusive vacation and you can't leave one US dollar as a gratuity for exemplary service by this wonderful staff!!?? Shame on you!! Bring some USA $1 bills you cheapskates! It will be so much appreciated by these wonderful people.

This is a nice adults only resort, the people were friendly and the staff were excellent, we first checked in and were placed in room 3015, the shower flooded the floor and was unusable, I have read other reviews about this happening so it clearly is not being fixed. The next day we were moved to room 4003 on the ground and that was very nice. There was always plenty of hot water and the AC worked great. The rooms are just one large room so privacy going to the bathroom is not happening so be prepared for that. The food at the resort was good but the buffet was my favorite place, good selection and quality. The dinning at the Italian and fondue was okay but we only did each once, the steak house that we read so much about was a huge disappointment, the service was crazy slow and after two hours the meal showed up all wrong, I'm from Alberta so I don't mind a rare steak but the one they served me was blue enough to make a Texan blush. We tried to go again but they were closed most nights and the only other night they opened there was a two hour wait list, I'm thinking staff issues so minus a half star for that. The beach was some of the softest sand we have seen, there were many palapa's but could have been more, the area for VIP takes up 1/3 of the beach area but only had two couples at most using them, less beds and more huts would make sense and be more popular. The beach sand was soft but very filthy with cigarette butts and small garbage, this can be blamed some on the guests but a lot on the management. There are 6" PVC pipes placed beside the chairs to be used as ash trays and garbage cans but the bottom is open, when someone picks it up to move it to another chair the butts and garbage stay behind, I saw some guests cover the garbage with sand but the wind eventually blows the sand away and moves the butts around all over the area, lost half a star for stupid ash tray design. The guests seem to be mainly from Europe so there is a huge variety of languages being spoken, the staff mostly are able to speak English which varies from good to poor to not at all, regardless they smile and provide excellent service with snacks and drinks. The bartenders seem to be able to build any drink you mention and will never be accused of not putting enough booze in the cup. The staff are always providing some sort of entertainment so you can participate or watch, there are also water activities you can do. There are always lots of towels for use, I never saw less than a mountain of fresh towels. We only had one day where a room key wouldn't work, we got a new one from the front desk and had to go up two more times because the new ones wouldn't work either, the guy at the desk blamed me for ruining the keys but eventually one worked so all good. All in all we would recommend this resort, a few minor improvements would make this an even more awesome resort.

They don't have the biggest pool, the newest buildings, or fanciest evening shows but they try harder with what they have. The grounds crew is fastidious, house keeping is creative & hard working and with the smaller resort size, you will know the friendly staff pretty well by day 5. Like most all inclusives, the meals can be hit or miss, but this was mostly hits for me. Like most DR restaurants, they will never likely understand American bacon, but whatever, It's not the United States. During my trip, I'd say it was 75% European travelers. The resort has a very nice beach sheltered by the point and the reef and the Princess staff are always the first at clearing the sargassum in the morning.
If you want to go to a resort that's well maintained with a hard working staff that does more with less, this is a very nice place. But if you must have a brand new coffee maker in your room or the biggest water slide, pay more and go somewhere else.

The thing that bothered me most about this hotel was that smoking is allowed in public places, including patios and around the pool. Really interfered with my enjoyment and all the cigarette butts on the beach were disgusting. The specialty restaurants were good, but the buffet food (for breakfast and lunch) was generally bland, and food that was supposed to be hot was not. The hotel room did not have nearly enough plugs, and the lights in the hallways were never on during the day. This made it difficult climbing the stairs, and inserting your key card correctly. Housekeeping always tidied the room between 3 and 4 in the afternoon, which is exactly when we wanted to return to our room after spending the day at the beach. Lots of problems with keys not working. Wait staff were excellent, front desk staff not so much - not at all helpful.
