The Grand Palladium Palace Resort Spa & Casino boasts a prime location popular for its proximity to beaches and entertainment. While the lively atmosphere with nightly entertainment is a hit among guests, some have expressed concerns about the noise level and dated rooms. Despite high marks for the resort's cleanliness and the variety of activities offered, visitors have called out issues with room maintenance and the challenge of booking a la carte restaurants. Service experiences seem to vary, with helpful staff overshadowed by reports of unprofessional interactions, and many travelers feel the resort does not provide good value for money.

Amazing family holiday, we're from the UK with a couple of fussy eaters - absolutely fantastic resort with such a variety of restaurants with quality food. The resort had so much to offer with watersports and an amazing gym and sports center offering everything from tennis, Badminton, football, mini golf to name a few, special mention to Constantino at the sports centre for his enthusiasm and sense of humour.
We had a real blast on our 2 weeks there, it was our second visit and we'll definitely be back again.

This was our first time in the Dominican Republic and we had a very relaxing vacation with plenty of drinks. We didn't leave the resort once during our 4 night stay, we booked the loft room because we had a 2 year old, but didn't really trust our 2 year old on the stairs, so we had to get double beds and we let her have one of the beds on the main floor. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating.

The beach was pretty and very empty before 10am. Between 10am - 2pm, the beach vendors were in full force trying to sell you excursions, cigars, take pictures with monkeys and macaws, etc. We did book a monkeyland excursion with Miguel, put down a $30 deposit for the trip, but decided not to go on the morning of the excursion because we didn't want to drop another $150 and didn't feel like it would be worth it. We didn't care to get the $30 back for the deposit, we chalked it up to our mistake.

The water was a bit rough in the ocean, which is typical this time of year in January. My wife was pregnant at the time and didn't get in the ocean once, but she did enjoy the pool area a lot. Make sure to tip your people! We tipped everyone we came in contact with, it's important because you get a superior level of service and they need the extra now more than ever.

We ate breakfast at the Poseidon buffet every morning. We also ate lunch at the Poseidon buffet every afternoon. We only did the hibachi restaurant once, and ate all other times at Poseidon. They make sure to have plenty of alcohol for you at all times, be sure to tip your waitresses and waiters well.

We didn't leave the resort mainly because it didn't seem like there was much to do off-resort. We did workout at the gym once, the gym was super nice. I wish I worked out there each day. The spa seemed nice also. The drinks at the lobby were good, lobby is a good place to hangout. And, they had a food truck on site from 3:00pm - around 10pm I think. The food truck had mexican food.

At times, the resort was pretty empty. Covid precautions were taken by all staff, and the guests too. They never told me to put a mask on except when in the restaurant or in the lobby. The room had a couple of interesting issues with the jacuzzi, but we got it worked out. The mini bar in the room was stocked and had beer and soda and water. They don't recommend drinking the water from tap, so we only drank bottled water. Make sure to book the free ride from the airport and back at least 48 hours adv.

We have just returned after 10 days at this beautiful resort. We stayed in a palace deluxe suite and the room was spacious, with plenty of mini bar top ups along with loads of towels and toiletries. I will start with the slight negative - the bath/shower combination needs some redesign. Due to how it is laid out you do have to deal with some mopping of water to avoid it flooding either the bedroom or bathroom ..... did it spoil my holiday no but I do think the hotel need to work on a new design.
So on to the positives and there are plenty, using the sister sites you have unlimited access to a la carte restaurants which we found to all be of a high standard. If buffet is your thing there is a choice of 3 along with some additional bbq options for lunch. We loved the walking round to the various restaurants but if mobility is a worry the golf cart transfers are every ten minutes and will take you all around the resort.
The biggest positive of this resort are the staff and I want to mention a few that were exceptional. Louis Alberto on the pool bar in the palace, Christian who worked the bar in punta cana and also was a pool butler for our first few days at the palace. Eduardo pool butler and Yohanna restaurant welcomer. I cannot fault any of the staff but these individuals truly went over and above and made our trip special.
I cant finish without a mention of the brilliant entertainment team in particular ‘mini cooper’ with his crazy games kept us entertained whether we took part or not! Fun and engaging.
I hope the management realise what an asset they have with the team of people that I have mentioned above and they are recognised for this.

The resort was very clean and absolutely beautiful! The covered walkways allowed you beauty as well as protection if it rained. It was to windy a couple of days to be on the beach so the pool areas got to be full with no where to sit. It is annoying when people go down early it the morning and put towels and shoes on chairs to save them and then don't show up til later in the day if at all! It would be better if there was no saving of chairs. Some of the food at the buffets that is expected to be warm (meat and eggs) wasn't always warm but otherwise the food was ok. The food at the specialty restaurants was second to none, I would highly recommend them! Over all we had a great time and would go back.

When we arrived the a room that had a horrible smell we were staying there with family and the room they had did not smell. We requested a room change and they wanted to up charge the change 30$ per night. We said no and they moved us to a different room and we’re going to add a room away bed. That was not a problem until we were joined by may husband a day later ( after a bump to his flight) . The room only slept 2 not 3. The next day they said that they could not add the bed to the room and after 2 hours of asking we were finally moved to a room where everyone had a place to sleep. We thought things were getting better but then we had daily cold showers because the hot water did not work at least 15 power outages (not an exaggeration). A misunderstanding and them a rude encounter at the spa after the guest service offered complementary admission due to the issues. The outlet in the bathroom sparked, one bed side lamp was not working, often they forgot to stock the refrigerator with water and soda, our room was left open after items were brought to the room and most requests took at least 2 calls for response.
Some of the staff were exceptional and the pools were clean as well as the public areas. Food was average at the buffets had the same items every day and after a few days it got old. The speciality restaurants were hit or miss. We went on 2 good excursions. One was an all day catamaran and the other dune buggies and cave visit with Amstar tours they were great. The only time we were able to really get assistance with the issues was when a family member took to social media with negative comments. Can’t recommend this place. I wanted to like it but just disappointed. In the end they asked what they could do to make up for the stay. They offered a upgrade of one category if we returned again. I did not take them up on the offer!

We had a great week at the Palladium Palace Resort this November 2020. We were a little anxious to go after it being closed for 8 months. With 3 kids, we were disappointed to find the sports bar and sports center both closed (there are actually 4 resorts within one large property and only 2 of the 4 were open).
However, we quickly found that the POP, specifically Constantino and Gregory, at the Palace Pool kept everyone entertained with lots of activities, including: ping-pong, cornhole, and ladder ball tournaments, bingo, salsa lessons, yoga, water aerobics, bartending class, and much more. Jose Luis kept our drinks full at the pool and was polite and nice to visit with.
When not at the main Palace pool, we found the Bavaro beach very welcoming with soft sand and blue waters. Very picturesque! Gerardo and Aneticia at the Bavaro beach bar made the absolute best bloody mary's and mojito's on site and were so friendly and kind to our kids! There were also boogie boards, kayaks, and catamarans to check out.
The buffets were modified so that staff put food on your plate rather than guests so that only staff touched the serving tongs/spoons. At the beginning of the week, the outdoor restaurant changed menus each night to mimic the restaurants that were closed (Italian, Steakhouse, Mexican) but within the week the Japanese and Indian restaurants also opened. Food was good at all locations.
For those interested, all employees wore a mask at all times. Restaurants checked temperature before seating. There was plenty of hand sanitizer at all locations and staff required its use before checking out equipment or entering restaurants. Masks were required for guests in lobby areas and entering/moving within the restaurants but not at the pool or beach.
We will definitely return when we can enjoy all of the amenities. The staff was absolutely amazing! Jean Carlo was our favorite cart driver...he took so much care to clean his cart after each ride before his next trip.
It was really a much needed vacation, and we were so glad that we made the trip!

After visiting this resort 8 times previously, I have never been more disappointed. I have found out that management was changed 7 months ago and have downgraded the appeal dramatically
Service from 90 percent of staff is almost nonexistent. Half the resort was empty, including rooms, cots on beaches, restaurants. Previous years you had to get up early to reserve cots on the beach and at the pools. They previously upgraded us a number of times, but this year they had the nerve to tell us they wanted to charge an additional $300 American to give us a better room. T V reception was substandard and maid service was substandard. Servers struggled to even smile on a daily basis and didn't seem to care to even notice that we were at the buffet and needed water. This resort is rated 4 1/2 * but I would raye it at a 3. Very very disappointed!!!

The Resort and Beach : The hotel and the resort was beautiful and clean as long as you stayed away from the beach. It wasn’t just the seaweed but the landscaping around the beach was unkempt. The beach also is VERY narrow so even if you’re not coming during the seaweed season, forget about coming solely for the beach. I was very unimpressed. This is definitely a pool resort which there is an abundance of. The resort is very large but they have carts that will shuttle you back and forth.

The Food : service and the people were very good but even that did not offset how horrible the food was. I don’t understand people can say that the food at this resort was good! The food had no texture nor flavoring. I tried 3 different types of rice and they all essentially tasted the same, bland and mushy. Their pizza had American cheese on it with corn and peas as a topping. Ummmm excuse me?!?! All the buffets had the same food, every day! The buffets had the same food from each other , every day! They say Bambu is a Chinese restaurant but it’s actually a very poorly done Japanese restaurant. They have Udon, sushi, teriyakis and yakisoba. It just proved to me that the resort and their chefs failed to do any research on their cuisines. While the food was bad the cocktails were very tasty, especially at the Hemingway bar.

The rooms: it was clean and the smart TV was a nice touch. Our housekeepers did a great job but it was a tad tedious hunting down people to refill our minibar.

The sales tactics: wow are they aggressive! From the time share people to the excursion to the spa people…… I felt like I was avoiding land mines trying to avoid them. I expected some degree of solicitation but I have to say this resort takes the cake.

Final Thought: While the grounds and the people were awesome, the food and the beach will prevent me from coming back. Not even buckets of mojitos will change that.

Overall it was nice to get away during these trying times, so this review is slightly slanted to the more positive than it should be. The service people were friendly, despite a slight language barrier with some. COVID has closed a lot at this resort, so you should verify prior to going. Hopefully they will be truthful over the phone with you. During our stay, convenient breakfast options were the buffet; lunch was the buffet; and then dependent on the night the buffet and three other restaurants. Remember, Bavaro is closed; the closed Punta Cana Resort while we were there - so instead of having access to four it is only two resorts (TRS). The Casino is like a Chuck e Cheese and HOT. The pool area was well maintained and fun; the beach was very good except for one day when a storm rolled in a lot of seaweed to the beach and stunk up the place.

I won't be back to this resort area, I may try another Palladium property somewhere else. Again, I am trying to balance opinion to COVID shutdown. All personnel ALWAYS wore masks, and noticeably sanitized more than you normally see.

We could not have had a better time at this resort! Upon arriving, we were greeted with drinks in the beautiful open lobby. We ended up spending much time here as there was plenty of comfortable seating, a bar, and a cafe with coffee drinks and snacks. The room was very spacious and clean. The beach was absolutely gorgeous with beautiful white sand and clear blue water. There are 3 beach bars spaced along the property, it was so nice to have the bars close by when lying on the beach. Our time was split between the beach and lying out at the adults only "secret pool". This pool was much more calm and quiet with great background music, comfortable lounge chairs, and staff consistently coming around for drink service. The food was excellent. We ate at the buffet each morning and with such a wide variety of options there was always something great for everyone. La Uva was the best lunch spot - located right on the beach and grilling up fresh burgers/various meats with assorted side dishes. For dinner we alternated between the buffet and a few of the restaurants (Sumptori, BamBoo!, El Dorado). Again, the buffet had such a wide variety of options and everything we tried was fantastic! The restaurants also had great food depending on what you are in the mood for. The property is so large (4 resorts) they had a "train" to escort you to the other side of the property where most of the restaurants were located. The only negative comment is we were told to go to a "welcome breakfast" the morning after we arrived which turned out to be a sales pitch and when we stated we were not interested they gave us a very hard time about leaving. Definitely do not attend! All in all, the resort was beautiful, the drinks and food were amazing, and the staff were all very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back to stay!
