The centrally situated two bedroomed apartment was spacious enough for two couples, clean, serviced daily and has everything required for a self-catering stay. Bonus was the unobstructed view of the ocean.

The check-in was smooth and efficient and off street parking in the gated area on the property is safe.

Some lovely walks start right outside the apartment and go on for miles.

A most pleasant stay. Recommended.

You could not choose a better location in Hermanus. Magnificent sea views where the seals and whales frolic in the waves. Within walking distance of shops bars restuarants and the famous cliff side trail. Rooms are serviced daily the kitchen is well equipped with a small gas braai on the balcony. Friendly staff and building well maintained. My 5 star review is genuine.

A lovely hotel with helpful friendly staff. We were looked after so well, we didn’t want to leave! The hotel is right on the waterfront with stunning views up and down the coast. Choose a room with a sea view - you won’t regret it. From the window we watched a pod of dolphins crossing the bay. There is also a shady courtyard garden out the back of the hotel. In late afternoon, the log fire in the main lounge is lit and turns the room into a cosy place to settle into for the evening.
Two minutes round the corner and you are on the main street of Hermanus with a great choice of bars, shops and places to eat. There’s also a small African market where you can buy your souvenirs.
Breakfast was excellent and included a wide choice of fresh fruits and hot dishes.
Wifi was available all the time we were there (5 nights) except for two hours on the first morning.
This is a well-run hotel with friendly and well-trained staff.

This hotel has a works class location along Marine Drive in Hermanus. The room was neat , spacious enough and comfortable. The breakfast and room service food is made by what can only be described as a boarding school chef from the 80's. The food lacked imagination, flavour, finesse and presentation. Its really easy to make a can of mushrooms or baked beans taste great. The filter coffee was watery. This place could rock!! The hotel had plenty of staff that were eager to help. Sadly, I took a walk to the local breakfast coffee shops each morning for a taste of fresh and delicious Hermanus food that I really didnt mind paying extra for.

Good morning Milli01 Thank you for your review and for taking the time to let us know how your stay was. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the view from the Hotel and that you found the rooms to be comfortable. We are sorry that you didnt enjoy the breakfast on offer. We are currently serving A La Carte Breakfast due to COVID regulations, however our guests have been giving us wonderful feedback with regard to the quality of breakfast. We are quite famous for our Breakfast Buffet, and sincerely hope that this will return sooner rather than later. I am sorry if this wasnt to your standard. I am however delighted that you managed to find other gems in our town - there is no shortage of spots that offer an amazing variety of items, and I am glad you were able to support those as well. We hope to welcome you back to the Hotel again in the future. Kind regards, Madeleine On Behalf of the Windsor Team

Stayed here two nights on our Garden Route tour. The exterior of the hotel looks a bit worn, but don't let that dissuade you! The rooms look recently renovated in blues, greens, and whites. Also, the rooms are comfortable and well-equipped.

The staff welcomed us with glasses of local wine, and were exceedingly helpful and friendly throughout our stay.

Although our rooms all faced the parking lot (typical for tour group rooms), it was only a few steps to the ocean path right out the front door.

I would definitely stay at the Windsor again!

Stunning views, with great location, within walking distance of many restaurants, facilities, shops etc. The rooms are very comfortable with lots of attention to detail- its the small, special things that make a difference, ftom special plug points all over, great bathroom facilities, plush towels and many more. Fir a 3 star property, you get such more than expected. Great staff, breakfast. An old charm building with special modern facilities- everything you need. Certainly value for money and have to when visiting Hermanus

The sea view room was beautiful. The hotel is old and vintage with lots of quirky extras. It's not my taste but I can understand the appeal. The time of our visit was not ideal as it rained the entire time and it was freezing. My issue with the hotel experience was the bed and the fact that the hotel only serves breakfast. The bed was rock hard, we couldn't sleep at all and ending up staying up and watching t.v, lunch and dinner needs to be sourced from somewhere else which I think warrants a cheaper stay. The accommodation was okay but I feel it is overpriced, I think you obviously pay for the sea view. The saving grace of this hotel was the breakfast! It was incredible and the staff were lovely.

Good afternoon Lady_Mel_V Thank you for your review of the hotel, and for letting us know how your stay was. We are sorry the hotel decor was not to your taste - we have specifically chosen to have a more historic, collonial theme in the hotel, to pay homage to our history. We are sorry to hear you didnt enjoy the beds - our beds are all high quality beds sourced from a reputed company in Cape Town, and we have even referred a good number of guests to them because we get so many compliments on our beds. I do understand however that bed comfort is subjective, and not everyone likes the same thing. Unfortunately we dont have a restaurant in the hotel - we have in the past found that 95% of guests prefer to go out and explore the wonderful surroundings, especially since almost everything is in such close walking distance. Our rates do take this into account. We hope to welcome you back again soon. Kind regards, Madeleine On Behalf of the Windsor Team

The Windsor is a lovely hotel looking out on to the water . The staff there could not do enough for us. The breakfast there is buffet and extensive. I would recommend anyone that stays there to ask for a room in the front. Unfortunately there was no room available in the front when we were there.
There are a lot of lovely restaurants with in walking distances. They treated us very well. Torches were handed out for the power cuts. We were also upgraded to a room upstairs unfortunately no view of the sea but we were given champagne and chocolate

As a weekend getaway, this was the ideal location. The hotel allows easy access to amazing restaurants all within walking distance. The beauty of Windsor Hotel is that it is just outside the village square radius so much quieter but still close enough that you won't have to get in your car!

Our room was comfortable, spacious and everything we needed for a weekend away. It was a treat for my husband's birthday and the hotel staff were wonderful, even placing a personalised birthday card and treat in our room. Breakfast was included during out stay and the selection was perfect and delicious!

I can definitely say that I will stay here again and recommend Windsor Hotel to friends and family.

To be able to see whales you would have to sign up with a whale watching company. They will take you out on a boat looking for whales. I went with Dyer Island cruises, they were excellent, but they are located in Gansbaii, about 1 hour from Hermanus. They can pick you up, it cost about $20. I went in June, not a good time of the year to watch them, because they are just coming back into the area. We did see whales, but they were not close, the boat try to follow them but they just disappeared under water. The guides said the whales were not comfortable with boats around them yet, since they had just started their migration back into the area. The guides also said that in a few months, September or October when the whales get used to the boats, they come next to the boats for awesome pictures. Hope this helps. Have a great time

Dear Mrs Andras, So pleased to connect with you. We have found your booking request through booking . com and your booking was made for an annexure room. The option of seafacing and non seafacing is also available on the booking channel unless its fully booked. The annexure room that you booked was available for your checkin at 14h00 which is the room you were originally taken to. The non seafacing room is a different room category and different rate and this was offered as an alternative to the annexure that you booked and may not necessarily been ready for check in due to a number of reasons, one of this being a late check out by the previous guest. I do hope that we have the opportunity to welcome you back in the not too distant future and please, book a seafacing room and if you have a problem with availability on line, contact me directly so that I can try and make a plan for you. Yours sincerely, Birgitta Weaving
