Detailed Reviews
Spent a short stopover for 3 nights on a golf tour of the area. Great location to some outstanding courses.
The chalets are a various sizes but all were just what we needed, they had a reasonable kitchen with most amenities, less washing machine. Rooms and beds were comfy and clean.
Pool area was great and close to the bar, on site restaurant as also very good.
WIFi also on site.

Good service from staff - they were friendly and efficient and also went out of their way to notify me of an item I left behind.
The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.
The room needs some general maintenance.

We reserved the weekend to commend my child's 21st birthday. We informed the woman who booked us in that we're hosting a get-together/braai, she said it was alright she'll be giving us two units close to one another. I told the woman we are 12+ individuals staying in mentioning a 2x 6+ sleeper is preferred, she informed me that the units she was offering would be enough and she concurred it is fine to keep a gathering. Next thing the day I'm being brought in the office and being abused in front of other guests by the receptionist. The manager needed to converse with me telephonically in light of the gathering and of the clamor. The manager was deprecating me and yelling at disclosing to me that I assume to leave despite the fact that we paid for two evenings. The manager is an unprofessional Discourteous old woman segregating towards my child and his companions while I went to the shops to get food expressing that they're giving her lodge a terrible impression. She had no privilege to converse with them in an obtuse way. The staff was not inviting. Maybe we were at a jail because we weren't permitted to play any music nor be outside the units after 10 pm. I would not return nor would I recommend the lodge to anyone.

Oh……. I would never suggest for people to consider this as a guesthouse it is a terrible place. And the owners are not good people. First of all I wanted to support this small business just to empower them. They told me that every after 18 or 20 booking they will give me one weekend free stay with my family as a weekend coupon but after I completed my first 20 nights when I demanded my free weekend they told me that they don’t do it anymore. What a Hippocrates I said. They never told me while I was checking in and they were signing my coupon card which they gave me at every check in. I mean what is the point of signing the coupon card for your guest of you are not going to let him use it.

We made this a halfway stop between Port Elizabeth and Cape Town and stayed over for one night.
The unit was reasonably clean and accommodation was available at short notice.
The units have lots of burglar bars and we stayed against the boundary fence so did not feel that safe.
When we read previous reviews about neighbours being noisy we thought nothing of it; to our disappointment we had the same problem. We were woken up at 2:30am extremely loud conversations of the neighbours next door and you could tell they were intoxicated. This continued for more than an hour.
This place could really do with stricter enforcement of their no noise after 10pm policy. If you're going to stay, ask them how they control noise made by other guests.

This hotel has a dishonest receptionist who lied to me about the availability of WiFi. There is WiFi, but I had to wait five minutes between each response to a keystroke, which made it completely unusable.

Response from Mariana185, Guest Relations Manager at Pine Lodge George
Responded Dec 10, 2015
Dear Daniel Charles F, Thank you for your review on Pine Lodge George. We appreciate your frustration with regard to poor Wi-Fi reception, it is unfortunately poor and sporadic in this area, and is something totally out of our control, let alone that of the reception staff. Therefore to accuse the receptionist of “dishonesty” is misleading, and quite frankly, offensive. We are just sorry that you had to rate your stay at our resort based solely on Wi-Fi reception, or the lack thereof. Yours in hospitality, Mariana van Rensburg, Marketing Manager

On my arrival the first evening I was refused supper because the assistant told me that the kitchen was already closed. That was at 20h15.According to the information guide in the rooms supper is served till late and I had a flight from Cape town that evening to George.
I did not have my rented car at that stage meaning I had to go without a meal that evening. I was really upset as I never had lunch on that particular day.

We spent the weekend here as our daughter was playing hockey against George South Primary. We booked a studio unit which was plenty for the 3 of us.
I would like to compliment the cleaning staff for their really high standard of cleaning. The place was spotless even the windows sparkled inside and out. The beds are firm yet comfortable and the linen is great quality with nice warm fluffy blankets which kept us warm.
Our shower wasn't working but once reported was repaired straight away.
The grounds are well kept and maintained and the pool was nice and clean although we didn't swim as it was chilly.
Well positioned close to the N2 and easy to find.
Only negative was the inconsiderate other 2 or 3 guests who found it necessary to arrive in the middle of the night with their car radios blerring, but you can't control others bad manners.
Thank you for a comfortable stay.

There are variety of chalet sizes depending on the size of your travelling party. Chalets range from a single room to 3 room chalets and these chalets will most likely have sleeper couches as well.
No pets, sorr.y
