We stayed in Blackheath Lodge recently for the 2nd time & thoroughly enjoyed our return visit. After a long overnight flight we were so warmly welcomed & upgraded to a fabulous 2 bed apartment with 2 terraces!
Despite all Cape Town has to offer sometimes it is nice to kick back and relax and Blackheath Lodge is an oasis of calm and a home away from home. The staff are genuinely interested in their guests & do their best to ensure memorable holidays are had by all. The most common sound is laughter & chitchat between staff and guests.
The location in Seapoint makes it an ideal base to explore the city and further afield and staff are always happy to advise on trips & excursions.
A special mention to Karin, Riana, Godfrey and Caroline.
We hope to be back some day x

We stayed at Blackheath Lodge in January and couldn’t fault it. The room, hotel and food were all excellent as the reviews said. The service was fabulous and we couldn’t have felt more welcome. We arrived in South Africa in a dazed state, first stop was Blackheath Lodge and the hotel manager Karin took us in hand with a tray of tea and biscuits and told how to make the most out of our stay in Cape Town with sage advice about keeping out of trouble. The recommendation to use Uber was invaluable and we felt totally safe throughout our stay. We also appreciated Riano cooking us lovely meals when we were tired and didn’t want to venture out, and who generally looked after us beautifully. One day we had a lovely lazy afternoon in the by the pool, surrounded by bougainvillea and Riano plying us with fizz and snacks. Heaven!

This B&B is located within walking distance of the beach, several restaurants, in a neighborhood. It is several homes put together. The rooms are great and the staff is the best. There is parking with 24 hour security. Try one of there cape Malay dinners if they are doing one. View from near beach, 5 minutes away

Staff at Blackheath are amazing and made me feel as if I am a friend rather than a guest. The decor of the place is beautiful and makes me feel at home . Lodge atmosphere is very cozy with a nice fireplace in the bar area. Blackheath Lodge is Covid compliant and I would definitely recommend Blackheath for all types of visits. Staff are also very knowledgeable and informative on things to do in and around Cape Town and are always willing to assist.

This was a wonderful, welcoming location with excellent, friendly staff and impeccable service. We got coffee delivered to our door in the morning and the breakfasts were fabulous. On our departure day we were able to not only store our luggage but had the use of a large bedroom and shower in which to change and freshen up before our flight.
I highly recommend this establishment.

A recent trip for our Family to the Cape was made ever more special by being able to stay at Blackheath Lodge which I would consider a "home away from home" experience

Right from the get-go I should have known we were in for a treat when Justin kindly recommended we try their little gem in Seapoint.

From arrival to departure the service was just exceptional. Karen manages a superb staff complement & is well backed up by Godfrey and Riano, for whom nothing is a trouble or too much to ask. The newly renovated rooms are classy and have all the amenities one could ask for.....USB chargers and heated towel racks for the win !!

With such great access onto the promenade and surrounding shops, but situated in a quiet tranquil street, its located in the ideal spot for a discerning traveller but also for a family breakaway.

The lodge is set up in such a way to cater for friendly dinners, and drinks in the trendy bar, as well as quiet and well equipped spaces for those business and private interractions that are so much part of our our daily routines.

I'm definitely coming back to the Blackheath family, no need to look any further whether its for Business or Pleasure !!

It’s a while since I looked at the TA reviews for Blackheath Lodge, but I believe many referred to it as an oasis. Well, that it certainly is, but we were so impressed by the drive of those who have made it so special. From directing us to the company for the airport-hotel transfer to the calling of our departure taxi, Karin and her staff provided a complete service.

What we see at the hotel is the result of great attention to detail – the eclectic furnishings, fixtures and objets d’art in the public areas, the design and setting of the pool, the guest rooms themselves and the complimentary refreshments and cake always available at the breakfast bar.

There was also great attention paid to helping us make the most of our time in Cape Town. Recognizing that this was our first visit to South Africa, Karin made sure that we understood what options were available. We were so pleased to have taken her advice and let her book a full day tour for us with driver, Lovemore, who took us on a tour around the Cape, and who did a wonderful job in helping us understand South Africa. Karin provided further help in directing us to the sea front walk that took us to the V and A restaurant area, in ordering a taxi to take us to Table Mountain and again into Cape Town for a Historic Walking Tour.

The personal service was second to none and the Blackheath Hotel truly lived up to its reputation as a tranquil oasis. There was a rare and special sense of serenity once inside the hotel and it will be long remembered.

We spent 6 nights in Cape Town and stayed in the 2 bed apartment. It was nice. Great sized rooms and lots of space. I believe the apartment is due for a revamp, it’s a little tired and worn in places ( wardrobes and bathroom cabinets) but nevertheless…….
The staff were like a big family, attentive and friendly. Everyone was on hand to offer tips and advice locally. We were quite literally greeted on the street upon our arrival and given a complimentary drink whilst Mike and Godfrey gave us the local low down. Karin also saved us a wasted day going to Table Mountain, despite the weather looking great the summit was dreadful. We went the following day after advice and had the most perfect experience.
We decided to use the hotels own tour service and had a private wine tasting tour, the 5 venues we visited were great and family friendly.
The bar and breakfast areas were also very tastefully decorated.
The pool was in the small attractive courtyard, which our room also overlooked from one of the bedrooms and had quality loungers and towels laid out daily. I didn’t see anyone in the pool but I’m sure in the height of the summer it would be a very welcome oasis.
We hired a car but all Cape Towns sites are within a short and inexpensive Uber journey
Thank you so much everyone at Blackheath Lodge for a wonderful and memorable stay. We’d love to come back and see what developments have taken place .More

I was treated like ROYALTY! One of the best boutique hotels I’ve ever stayed in. One specific staff member named Riano were the friendliest, most efficient and helpful that I've ever encountered. Nothing was too much trouble for him. He offered me an early check in and late check out without me even asking. The hotel, rooms are immaculate and the attention to detail mind-boggling. The facilities in the rooms incredible -robes, Charlotte Rhys bath and shower toiletries, individual hand sanitisers and masks! Words just can't do this place justice - you need to experience it for yourself!

there is a Load Shedding app that advises when the power cuts are going to be throughout the day and night, we found it really useful when we were on the Garden route as we went to lots of different places

Hi, I just found this question and maybe too late to answer. I stayed 15 nights at Blackheath lodge in February. I had different rooms, one at the second floor. All are different. But I can not answer your question, but I think you should ask Blackheath Lodge about it, maybe you already have . Karin the manager is very helpful and efficient, others as well. I can really recommend this place in Cape Town! My review on TripAdvisor was very positive but also very honest. If you go there and meet Karin please say "hello" from Lars in Sweden. Have a nice stay!
