We stayed here a week between Christmas and New Year's and this place was fantastic. The villa was spacious, the beds extremely comfortable, the AC worked exceptionally well, and the kitchen was well equipped. The pool was great for a dip after a long day of hiking, and we even saw both spider and white-faced monkey while sitting out! One even tried to steal some food! The breakfasts were delicious, starting with a plate of fruit, and then you have a choice of 5 different types of breakfasts. We all loved the Tico breakfast (eggs, rice & beans, plantains, sausage, and tortillas. Delicioso!) But, the best part of Villas Mymosa is the staff. Everyone from the chef, to the cleaning ladies, to Kathy the evening bartender, to Karen the morning server, German the night watchman, and Amy and Kathia the office managers, were so friendly and accommodating to our every need. I booked all our excursions through Kathia and ended up making a new friend! The Villas are located right near the bus stop from which, for less than $1, you can get to Quepos or Manuel Antonio. I highly recommend Villas Mymosa.

We stayed for 4 days in a superior suite. It was very nice, huge and clean. The kitchen was equipped with anything you would need plus lots of towels and extra blankets. There is ac in both bedrooms and fans that can be used in the central areas. Letty and the girls were very helpful in explaining how to get places and the bus is right at the end of the street to go to Quepos and Manuel Antonio. The amount of wildlife we saw from the deck was amazing. Spider monkeys, white faced monkeys, toucans, parrots and iguanas. Pool is good, deep but there are lots of noodles. My only reason for 4 star is the noise between rooms, our neighbors were up late one night and we could hear everything they said and did. It did not ruin our stay but we were very happy they checked out the next day.

We stayed here for 3 nights and felt so welcomed by the friendly staff. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, and the lodge itself was very quaint! The bar had incredible cocktails. There is also a nice pool that we swam in almost everyday. It was about a 12-minute drive to the main beach, and we either took the bus (it comes ever 15 minutes right outside the hotel) or got a taxi. We also saw a ton of squirrel monkeys running on the wires right outside the hotel! It was so immersed in nature and just so beautiful, I definitely recommend staying here on your trip to Manuel Antonio!

As you saw, we are surrounded with plenty nature, so we can enjoy animals, like white faces monkeys, squirrel or titis monkeys, macaws, toucans, iguanas, lizzards, and any others birds. Many thanks for visiting Costa Rica, and stay with us. We really enjoy people like you. Kind regards, Villas Mymoa

We had here a wonderful stay for 3 nights. Very spacious villa, good bed(s), nice pool and breakfastarea. All very well maintained. The staff is very welcoming and all lovely people. For the breakfast there is Karen, a really very nice lady, who makes your day start with a good breakfast of your choice and a smile. We loved Herman, the concierge and his chats as well. The days we spent in this calm and relaxing place close to Manuel Antonio and to Quepos centre were very pleasant and we would book here again.

I totally fell in love with this place. Our room was cleaned any time we asked. The staff ….every single one of them went out of their way to do whatever we asked….right down to the security guard. You can’t ask for a friendlier, cleaner place to stay!!! Kudos

Rooms are exceptionally spacious, well equipped and maintained. Tucked away from the main road and surrounded by natural vegetation, the Mymosa's site was well used by monkeys, macaws and more.
The whole family enjoyed the laid back ambiance of the locale, and would love to visit again.
A big thanks to Letty, who was so helpful from the beginning of the booking process and throughout our stay.

Stayed here April 8-11, 2005. Great location on the road between Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park. Comfortable, nicely furnished, very spacious, and clean accomodations. Our deluxe suite had a nice kitchenette and balcony with hammocks and dining table -- but no A/C, and it was really hot and humid! (Though, with fans and the doors and windows open it was bearable. Other units apparently do have A/C..) We did have water problems on two occasions -- it basically just stopped. They fixed it, but still... not fun. Pool is lovely with a little bar too. No views or breakfast included, but still a very decent place to stay to enjoy all of the nearby activities.

Our family of 2 children with 2 adults stayed 5 days at a junior suite with a/c for 85 dollars per night cash or you pay 16% additional tax with credit card, no views and breakfast not included. Condos and pool are very nice looking, make sure to get one with a/c, condos all have kitchenette, some with a wall separating 2 sleeping areas, lots of space with kids in condos and cable TV. Negative aspects: water pressure in showers weak, toilets do not flush very well, sink and shower drains can back up easily, office staff not very friendly or helpful when assisting with problems with plumbing/drainage from several of the condos during the week we were there. Also depending on who was at the front desk, prices for condos per night and prices for activities they reserved for you was inconsistent and changed by 5 to 10 dollars per night or person. We did the horse back riding to the waterfalls, breakfast and lunch included, this activity was fun with friendly and informative guides. The condo is only about 5 minutes by car to the town of Quepos or 2 to 3 dollars per trip by taxi or you could walk down to town; Manuel Antonio park beach entrance is about 15 minutes by car and 7 dollars entrance fee with pretty beach swimming area within the park. Nearby hotel restaurants available with very good food but expect to pay 40 to 60 dollars for 4 people including the 16% tourist tax and 10% service fee included or go to town and eat at locals restaurants for 5 to 7 dollars per plate.

How close are you to the beach? Do they have places to rent beach chairs?
Answer from Dana D
Portland, Oregon59 contributions52 helpful votes
Not close enough to walk. You will have to drive into town to get to the beach. It isn't far, but the road is steep. We did not try to walk it. We walked along the promenade at the beach in town one night, but mostly we spent time on the beaches in the National Parks and to the south of town and these took a little while to get to - maybe 15-20 min drive.
