We were lucky enough to travel to the Isabella Resort this August. We stayed on the V-Level side of the island which is not open to the general public at all, has a bespoke transfer by very nice private boat and a fantastic selection of quiet intimate pools and beaches to choose from. The resort offered something for everyone, slides and excitement for the kids and quiet time for us as the parents. The presidential villa that we stayed in was simply amazing, to the point where the family really didn't want to leave. The service across the board, from the restaurants to the pool attendants was 5*+ - professional enough to not be intrusive but at the same time attentive enough to make sure we were never without anything throughout our stay, despite the disruption of an overnight storm. We ate at Momenti for breakfast and for three of our nights whilst there, the quality of the food was very good. We ate at the Miramar restraurant for two nights, the quality of the fare served in there would not have been out of place in a Michelin restaurant, with a fine choice of wine and great service. We ventured across to the mainland regularly on the ferry, which is not for the sole use of Valamar guests but free of charge if you are staying at the Valamar. At no time did I feel unsafe or at risk due to COVID or proximity of others. One night we decided to catch a water taxi, which was a reasonable price (around £10 for a family of four, before midnight) and a pleasant change. The town was great, some nice restaurants, shops and bars to keep us all entertained, laden with gifts and well fed and watered. We spent most of our time on the island, the watersports at the resort was very well run and provided good value, as well as the mini golf. All in all, I'd be hard pressed to find fault with anything at the resort based on our experience. Spotlessly clean, no hidden money traps (Which was expected to an extent due to the island location and didn't happen), great service and nothing was too much trouble. They even arranged our transfers for us with a reputable cab company, making the journey between the airport and the room almost seamless and enjoyable. Full marks to Valamar and their team, unprecedented tough times and they still offered an attractive, relaxing holiday for the family, which will be remembered for years to come.........we will be back!

We spent wonderful 5 days on the island. It is island, but so close to the coast and Poreč, connected with fast boat and travel takes only few minutes. Of course, it is free of charge for hotel guests.
If you are traveling by car, Resort has big, secured parking in Poreč, and available transfer to the harbor. Your luggage will be transferred from parking (actually, it is your first check in point) and waiting you in your room. So nice and comfortably.
Room for two was big enough, comfortable, with large bathroom . Something what is from my experience, comparing with other hotels, veeery positive, is so many place in wardrobe . Our room was oriented to the sea , on the 4th floor and view was amazing.
Food was excellent and we really enjoy in different and reach offer.
All staff deserves the highest marks, you really feel that they do sincerely everything that you 'll have an unforgettable vacation.
Pool and beaches with perfect clear water and available deck chairs and umbrellas are places just to be desired.
And last but not least is about taking care about epidemiological measures. Just one word: perfect
And, there is some more nice things on the island, but come and discover them yourselves. I think, you'll be amazed as we were, and for sure will be back.

This resort is located just across the bay from the mainland of Croatia in Poreč, although this is the less visited end of the country compared to Dubrovnik and further east to Zagreb etc., I would have to say I would think twice before following the herd there. With an utterly stunning coastline and clear waters, Poreč is one of those places which will live long in the memory.

As for the resort itself, we stayed in a Seaview room which faced back towards the mainland, however, we had a Panoramic view of the Harbour in North & South facing views. The rooms are modern, with a distinctly European feel to them, with comfortable beds, air conditioning (needed on the warmer days) and balcony seating. In terms of food, it was by far the easiest trip i've ever had with my allergy. The buffet is fully labelled with all allergens, meaning you don't even need to speak to the staff over what's safe to eat and what isn't if you didn't want to.

There's plenty of pools and swimming opportunities, which include the Sea due to the resort having exclusive rights to sections of the sea. These have been cordoned off from the main shipping/boat routes, so you can go out as far or as little as you wish. If sea swimming is not your vibe, then definitely visit the many options for pools they have, especially the infinity pool which looks out towards Italy. On a really fair day you can almost sea their coastline on the horizon.

My only criticism as far as food is concerned is the menu can become repetitive due to the buffet style, plus I ate way too much seafood and gave myself a bad tummy, but that's self inflicted! This didn't spoil our time here though and I would highly recommend the resort to anyone who asked about my time in Croatia.

We couldn’t recommend Valamar Isabella Island Resort enough! Our special place, where we got married! Already been back twice since.

The resort is beautiful, it’s always pristine and in great condition . You only have to see the staff starting their morning shift making sure the hotel is spotless for the day.

The staff at the hotel are great always very welcoming and always have a smile on their faces. We have never had a bad experience during any of our stays visiting the hotel! 5star service and food always!

The walks around the island were majestic, taking in the beautiful scenery and sunsets. The main swimming pool is kid friendly with a splash pool for the younger kids aswell.

The food was great I don’t think you can not go hungry at this hotel. Always replenishing the food and cooking fresh food from a number of cooking stations.

We eat in the mirimare restaurant (adults only) for one night and highly recommend going there. We had the salt baked sea bass it was fantastic!

The only downfall on this hotel is the entertainment in the evenings. I think the hotel should invest in some decent entertainment as this is the only thing is lacking.

I highly recommend this hotel truly has something for everyone.

I’ve just come back from a lovely week at this hotel and I would highly recommend.

The hotel has a lovely vibe. It’s so clean and well organised. The staff are fantastic and very friendly-nothing is an issue for them. The rooms are bright, modern and well equipped (toiletries/shower caps hairdryer all provided). The rooms are cleaned daily and freshly laundered towels are left on a daily basis. The food at this hotel is varied and plentiful-it’s also very well laid out. There’s a lot of choice so something for everyone.

The mainland is a short boat trip over from the island-the boat runs every half an hour. It’s an easy journey to make and the crew on the boat are very friendly and helpful. The mainland has a lot of bars and restaurants to visit and a few little market stalls. There are plenty of shops to pop into for a browse. Porec is a lovely place.

Having been to Porec twice now, I’d like to try somewhere else. However if I ever do come back, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

This place is truly heaven and a must with kids. Last time we visited we stayed in the riviera residence, adults only over on the harbour and decided for a future visit to bring the family. We waited two years after being bumped due to covid but it was totally worth it. We loved every minute. My grandson aged six, loved Maro club for a couple of hours in the morning and to meet friends and extend his independence. Gave us a few minutes to gather ourselves too.
Rooms are beautifully clean and well equipped. Tea making equipment and ample sockets. Beds comfortable and pillows were just right. Safety deposit box in room and very quiet air con. I requested adjoining quiet rooms but although not adjoined worked well and were very close. We faced the pool but it was quiet in the evening so I could get little one to sleep without a fuss. Lots for us to do, didn’t really need to leave the island for the week we stayed. Maro club, games rooms, volleyball and football flood lit pitches so whatever size of young person…they were catered for. Water slides kept everyone busy and happy. Entertainment in the evenings for adults and Maro disco for younger clients.
Very good choice of very fresh food so everyone catered for and beautifully present, often being cooked to order. The restaurant’s had there busy times and it did feel a bit crushed but was easy to avoid. Soft play tucked away in the corner so parents could linger over meals. We chose the take out the excellent value drinks packages so we knew what we were spending, these cover most things but not kids slush and some bars don’t accept the package. Ask about these as they aren’t easy to find in website. We constantly got charged for spirits contained within a premier package but waiters changed this every time however a different colour fob and knowledgeable waiting staff would have sorted this easily. A minor thing.
Having room fobs to charge to and for room entry was very easy. We booked a trip out to see dolphins and I would take the private trip over the big boat every time. You see far more.
It must be said that staff work incredibly hard to make the magic here. Pool meticulously cleaned along with rooms, nowhere was grubby or tired. Really can’t find a niggle with this amazing place

This is a resort for Families especially children and what it provides for them in equipment and activities is superb. If you are adult(s) without young children, then you may be disappointed. It appears common now that young children bring scooters with them on holiday including electric scooters. They race around the public areas including the outside bistro and bars and these things are a hazard to adults as you cannot hear them coming. Parents of course are oblivious to their children's behaviour and the noise of children in the inner bar lounges in the evening is a spoiler. I don’t want to watch young children fighting with pool cues, smashing the balls off the table onto the floor. My advice is after the evening meal, jump on the Hotel's Riveria boat (every 45 mins to and from) and head to mainland to find a bar in Porec for the evening. We avoided UK school holidays not realising the German school children were on holiday. There is a strong leaning with this resort to the German customer, don't bother with the room Tv's unless you speak German or want to watch European news in English. The breakfast and evening buffet choice is superb and no matter what country you come from you will find and excellent range and quality of food. There is an adult dining room thank God. As with most big Hotel buffets the rule 'Hot Food, Hot Plates' doesn't apply. By the time you get your hot food selection at the various sections over a huge buffet area your hot food will be warm or cool because there are no hot plates. I was unable to get a 'hot' coffee or tea anywhere in the hotel whether bar or buffet because it’s all produced by machines that are simply because of health and safety reasons only allowed to produce warm drinks. No English Breakfast Tea bags anywhere in the hotel just scented, fruit teas....
The bedroom was large, and we had twin washbasins for some reason. Good walk-in shower and large king size bed which had a thin, well used mattress which I found uncomfortable. The housekeeping staff were amazing, room spotless every day and so polite and friendly. The Hotel was always clean in every area and all staff we met were polite and friendly. We first visited this island 12 years ago before it was developed into a top-notch family resort. It is stunning and if I had brought my adult children and grandchildren they would have loved it. Not for adults unfortunately and we won’t be staying at the Island again.

We went for 7 days in early September expecting that the children had returned to school after the summer break. We were very wrong ! The German schools were still off so it was busy with young children. The pool area was very much for them but that kept the beach areas pretty much for the adults which worked well. It did get a bit silly at the buffet breakfast and dinner with kids darting about with plates helping themselves. There is an adults only room but it lacked atmosphere, it was just like a spare room on the side. You still had to join in the melee to get your food though.
The buffet was good and most of the time the food was actually piping hot. The desserts were poor though , cakes , tiramisu , fruit etc but if you went after 8 the kids had decimated it anyway.
We ate at the 5* side one night , swapping our buffet for a voucher. This was excellent. Located by the 5* pool with a beautiful sunset. The service was also excellent .
We stayed in a bungalow with part sea view . It was ok but should and could have been better. The bed was terribly soft. Coffee is supplied but no milk and no tea ???? You can get it from the restaurant but that’s not what you expect.
No face cloths in the bathroom and the shampoos etc are screwed to the wall in big bottles which was a bit Premier Inn like. The AC is a pain in that it is preset to 23 and can’t be adjusted …….
We had to move after 3 nights due to party noise from the mainland which was incredibly loud until 5am. Swapping was very smooth and our second room was nice and quiet. Couldn’t help but feel that the room service was minimal and the quicker the better. We had bay poo on our veranda for 3 days which was missed as were several other things. The 2nd room again was better on this.
The weather was fantastic, we love swimming and that was in abundance around the island.
Overall the service was good but with a buffet you do feel it’s like a canteen and lacks the personal touch
There is a free boat to mainland throughout the day and it is only a few minutes each way. We hired bikes and segways plus a boat trip to Rovinj. We would love to return again but not at the height of summer as it gets very hot.

We appreciate your insights and are delighted to know that you would consider returning. Regarding the buffet experience, we value your feedback and will review the arrangements to ensure a smoother flow and availability of desserts. I am not sure why I was completely surprised by this hotel but in every way it exceeded my expectations. In most cases you get what you pay for but this time we felt like we had found a real bargain.

I booked directly with the hotel, a simple process and the reservations team were brilliant, they very kindly arranged a car to pick me up from Pula airport, a nice van and driver.

We were driven to the Valamar car park and were met by the team wo drove us to the harbour (a 10 minute journey),

The boat ride over to the island is a lovely thing to do, and we did it a lot!

The hotel is lovely, very clean and well cared for. The staff take real pride in its appearance.

Our room was as expected and whilst simple done very well.

The restaurant is fantastic, and the food quality is of the highest level, I also think the bars deserve special mention, we had some great cocktails.

The pools are lovely and we spent time at the one at the hotel and at the castle.

If you walk around the grounds there is so much to do, we wanted to relax by the pool but if you fancy a walk then there is plenty to see. Lots to do with children.

We also loved the local town, the shops are quaint, and mostly independent. We ate at some of the restaurants and drank cocktails at a few bars, everybody spoke better English than me!

Congratulations to all the team as the Isabella, you gave us the holiday we needed.

We have just returned from a week at this hotel.
We were in a sea view room which gave us an amazing view across to the mainland. The hotel is modern, very clean and the room exactly as it had been described. We had a room with a separate side room for our daughter, she loved the little room which had bunk beds in it and it was ideal of an evening so she could go to bed earlier without interruptions.
The pool is great, kept clean and tidy. Towels are available and plenty of sun beds available at whatever time of day we went there.
Good selection of restaurants with very good quality food. The buffet restaurant was the main breakfast and dinner restaurant and had a good selection of nice food to choose from with plenty of options for kids. During the day was a bit more difficult to find children’s options as there aren’t any small children’s meals or portions available.
Boat to mainland ran regularly and easy to use and there is a supermarket, many restaurants and bars, gifts and souvenirs all immediately available in and around where the boat lands.
Staff in all areas of the hotel were helpful and friendly.
We didn’t use the kids club but it seemed popular and there was a good playground outside of the club which my daughter did like.
We would definitely return to this hotel.
