Atlantis - Harborside Resort offers a mixed experience, according to guests. While the resort's location and access to Atlantis amenities are appreciated, many visitors find the rooms in need of renovation and the service inconsistent. Clean pools and family-friendly environments contribute to the atmosphere, but the value for money is often questioned, particularly due to the high cost of dining and additional fees for WiFi. Guests have called out the need for better room cleanliness and maintenance to enhance the overall stay.

It's our third visit to the Atlantis Resort and our second stay at the Harborside Resort. We have two severe food allergies in our family, SOY and EGGS, both are life-threatening. To reduce travel anxiety, we tend to cook our food, which, when you factor the time it takes to eat out in any of the local restaurants, is faster and safer. There’s a daily shuttle that takes you a Solomons Grocery Store [high end, like trader Joes]. The units have great kitchens minus a kettle or oven. We made great use of the washer/dryer as it cut down on the amount of clothes we needed to bring. The cooking utensils however are terrible. I mean really, really terrible…they’re practically disposable – same goes for the plastic micro-cutting board and chef knives that were blunt and ruined. It made cooking our own food very challenging. I recommend bringing some empty freezer bags and tupperware to store leftovers. Also, bring some tide pods and dishwasher pods if you plan on using the appliances every day.
Also, I’m not sure who runs the food/beverages services but the alcoholic drinks around the pools were ridiculously high [A beer was $16 USD +, mixed drinks were even higher $20 USD]. As a result, the bar was always empty as you can buy beer/mixed drinks across the street for $3 USD. If they lowered their prices significantly, the bar would be very busy indeed. Instead, the bar would maybe sell\a few drinks an hour….
The point restaurant was also over the top expensive…a small side order of french fries was $6 USD. Also, they say they use Canola oil, but in reality, its Canola oil cut with cheap soybean oil. Why on earth would they use that when SOY is one of the most common food allergens? As a result, we didn’t enjoy our daily lunch at the Point Restaurant.
Front desk personnel were friendly and accomodating.
It seems to me that the resort would charge for “air” if they could only figure out how….

We had some issues checking in and with the initial stocking of towels, toiletries, and kitchen soap. We did not have internet in the rooms and would need to pay $24.95/day for in room WiFi. Extortion. We enjoy the Atlantis property and amenities.

If you want a traditional hotel, Harborside is not the place for you. Harborside are timeshare units meant for an extended stay. Despite some reviews, Harborside IS very much part of Atlantis and a great place to stay while visiting Atlantis. Units come with complete kitchens and laundry facilities in each unit. As with any timeshare, daily cleaning is not provided. A week's stay comes with one day of cleaning and linen changes. You do need to take out your own trash, with trash shoots conveniently located at several locations on each floor. Atlantis is a big place, so walking is required to transverse anywhere on the property. Harborside is the furthest accommodations from the beach, but a quick shuttle ride or a 15-20 mintue walk. Even the centrally located Royal is a good 5-7 minute walk to the beach. The biggest advantage of Harborside is the ability to cook meals and avoid the insanely high-priced food on Atlantis property. Stop at a grocery store on your taxi ride from the airport or take the daily bus from Harborside to a local Nassau grocery/liquor store. Harborside does NOT charge the daily resort fee that other Atlantis hotels charge. All resort amenities are included in the price of the room. While staying at the Harborside you can use any pool on Atlantis property, Harborside has a huge, beautiful pool dedicated to Harborside guests. Also, most Harborside guests are timeshare owners and do not expect the type of instruction and personal attention provided at a traditional hotel. So, before you go do your homework and know to ask questions.

Was our first time in The Bahamas so we didn’t know what to expect. We were very pleased with our stay. The property is very pretty, clean, well maintained and nicely designed. our studio room was spacious and very comfortable. It was well stocked with all necessary utensils and appliances and very clean. Lovely pool views from our bedroom and little balcony. The pool area is easily accessed, spotless with no crowds so plenty of space and the lounge chairs were comfortable. The resort provides a shuttle bus to a local grocery store/strip mall 3 mornings a week for $10 round trip which we took advantage of as prices can be very high onsite. Just remember to bring your own shopping bags! I was lucky enough to get a cardboard box to put my groceries in. Our bus driver was so patient and helpful and the resort staff do provide shopping carts on return for transporting your groceries to your accommodation. Generally found staff and people very friendly and helpful although the pace there is a lot slower and more laid back then we’re used too lol! Service can be very slow too but that’s Bahamian time lol!

We are Sheraton/Marriott owners who had never stayed at the Harborside before. Due to the many negative reviews, and in speaking with our friends who had been there years ago, our expectations were low. After returning home, I am so proud of the staff and of the physical plant of Harborside Resort. We had a fabulous time in every respect. The staff, down to the pool staff, bellman, The Point bartender, checkin, sundry store, maintainence staff, and concierge were engaging, pleasant, and helpful. Kudos to Marriott and in leaving, my wife and I couldn't understand what some of the negativity is about. Concerning the Villa, we had a 1 bedroom prem. villa which was updated and spotless. (Rm 1764/bldg 5). If you look hard enough, yes the shower could have been grouted more professionally and perhaps the toilet flapper could be replaced, but I could say the same of my own house. Nothing was perceived as a negative from our point of view. The grounds were immaculate and we loved the ability and proximity to retreat from a walk over to Atlantis/Beach in only 10-12 minutes.
We look forward to our return to Harborside.

Staying at the Harborside is for those who don’t travel or who have low expectations and just want to have their one family vacation.

When I didn’t receive any outreach from a concierge prior to arriving, like I’ve always had when going to any of the other timeshare locations, I knew it was going to be an issue. Everything was overpriced. The restaurants were crowded and they didn’t honor reservations despite making it hard to get them. At Harborside they charge $25/day for Wi-Fi which is absurd, this isn’t 1990.

Basic amenities like getting fresh towels the same day wasn’t an option. We called around noon and were told we’d have to wait until the next day for more to be brought over from the main property. I even tried to stop one of the housekeepers for an extra set and she claimed the same, which didn’t make sense as she was flipping the rooms for new guests and I could see her fully stocked cart.

Don’t try to go to the pools on the main property before lunchtime or you and your family will be sharing one lounge chair, while surrounded by empty chairs with towels on them with no returning guests. The beach itself was beautiful but again wait until after lunch to try to even attempt to get a lounge chair.

We ate food from most of the grab and go places by the pools since no one would bring drinks or take our food orders from our chairs. We had dinners at The Point (lovely view, basic food options), Bimini Road (not authentic, they must season their food for their main clientele), and Fish by Jose Andrés was an utter let down. I’m a huge fan of Jose Andres and all that he does and have supported his restaurants all over the country for the past 15+ years but his outlet at The Atlantis was hands down the worst, mostly due to the hostesses, extremely slow service and overpriced meals and wine selection.

Advice: Go to the Super Value grocery store right across the bridge to stock up on water, snacks and other basics. Don’t get a bunch of meats because there are no grills on premises. Again a first for any timeshare. The taxi charged us $18 to drive 0.8 miles, needless to say we walked back. It was early in the morning and a nice day so we didn’t mind the 15-minute walk. You’ll get your exercise walking from property to property, we only used the shuttle a few times.

My wife, my two sons, and their families recently had an exceptionally positive experience at Harborside Resort at Atlantis. The villas are spacious, clean and comfortable with fully functional kitchens (we could prepare meals easily whenever we anted to "stay in") and stacked washer-dryers in the unit. The staff is pleasant and effective, and the frequent free shuttles to the main resort at Atlantis were super convenient. We are looking forward to our next trip to Harborside already!

We recently stay at the Harborside Resort in Nassau to get away at times from the crowds at the Atlantis. The location is great, the cost is pricey ($$$$), and the amenities were nice. Outside of booking a villa that was to have a harbor view but faced another building and the extra firm bed and foam pillows, it was a great place to stay. The villa was clean (we only requested service one of the days we stayed). We loved the walk to the Atlantis hotels (e.g., Royal, Coral, Cove) since we got to view the impressive Yachts that docked for the day(s). Those ships are amazing. A free shuttle service was also available to the various Atlantis hotels when you did not want to walk alone the harbor. Overall, the villa's had a washer and drier, a functioning kitchen (the pots and pans were a bit limited), and a spacious living room with a pull-out sleeper (if more in your party). The downside is no free WIFI to Harborside residence (one had to go to the lobby or pay $25/day extra which was not shared ahead of the trip). This deal also meant that Harborside guest had no free access while in the Atlantis hotel spaces. There were several restaurants to partake, some which could break the pocketbook if feeding a large family. The pizza place near the Royal was wonderful. The casino was always busy but to my disappointment had no cheap blackjack tables (started at $15 minimum to $500 a hand) or slot machines (started at $1/spin). The staff at and around the Atlantis were very kind and helpful.

Where to start?

1. Left Toronto at 9am and arrived at 1pm on Fri 15th in the middle of a rain storm! No problem, weather happens! Checked in and feeling very hungry we went to find food....all the outside Atlantis resort bar and grills closed. Makes sense. Olives closed.... The Point has no food left. Asked front desk who had no clue and kept telling us to go to places where we had been and was closed. Eventually we were told to call Kraven food delivery site but they were super over run and no deliveries avail. The few places that opened at 5pm were overrun and eventually we bought bread and cheese from the sundries store! Happy Anniversary us 😞

2. The food is expensive! Which I have no problem with if it's of a decent quality. The Point at Harborside charged over $70 US for a chicken Ceasars salad, a hamburger and fries and a Pina Colada. McDonalds does a better salad and the burger was not much better. I'd like to say that was our only bad meal but no, it wasn't. Murray's Deli was awful, the staff we had were unfriendly and seemed unwilling to actually work, we actuality felt bad asking them to fetch vinegar! The chicken fingers were absolutely awful.

3. Came back to our room at 10pm on Sunday and the keys wouldn't open the door. Trekked back to front and were told to go back and wait for security. Stood outside in humidity for 15 minutes. Security arrived and neither their master card or key would open our door. Security wandered off mumbling something and 10 minutes later we returned to front desk sweaty and getting annoyed. Took almost an hour to get in our room that night and we were promised by the two guys who got our door open that a new lock would be installed in the morning. We left next morning and told front desk we were out of room in order to get repair done. Came back 5hrs later and couldn't get in our room again. Lock want changed. Opened it fast with a master key this time but then couldn't go out again so had to sit around for another hour or so till they got to us and put in a lock. Manager Kim was not that helpful and said they could compensate us but not until they knew how much we had been inconvenienced!

4. Most of the resort staff make no effort to be friendly, bar a few nice ones.... most seem seriously put out when you ask them anything! Case in point, was at Chocalatini and asked a staff member which one had coffee and explained that I didn't have my glasses. She remained sitting, didn't look up and snapped an answer at me . Seriously rude and then it cost be $17 for the worst watery frozen coffee thing ever!

I used to love coming to Atlantis but it is not up to standards at all. Save your money and go to Disney! They know how to take care of their guests, unmatched customer service and you can afford to feed your family!

After a terrific 9 night stay at Harborside, I wanted to give a quick review b/c so many negative comments almost had us cancel our trip. That would have been a big mistake! We had a wonderful time and felt that 95% of the staff genuinely wanted their guests to enjoy their vacation. We loved Bldg 2, 4th fl, overlooking pool and harbor. The pool was a favorite with 82 degree temps and I swam at least an hour every morning. The rooms were not as run-down as the other guests commented (the elevator however needs a redo) We had a bite to eat at the Pointe on 3 occasions. All good! We appreciated others' ideas of packing food (which was a fantastic $$ savings) as far as stopping en route from airport to resort to pick up groceries. I'd recommend buying beer and liquor across the street instead of next to grocery store. To save on frustration on dinner reservations and $$$, we patronized Violas twice, Anthonys, Margaritaville, all a few more steps, but worth it! As far as Wi-fi, it's complimentary to guests while in the lobby, so take advantage of that. We have generous data plans on our cells, so could use data in our rooms, rather than paying for it. Atlantis/ Paradise Island truly is a special place (I could go on and on about that), but staying at Harborside is the way to go and can't wait to come back! Lastly, the Covid stuff was very frustrating (and time consuming) prior to entry, but the testing and organization of it at the Royal was quite slick. We had anxiety about all of that, but got in and out within 5-10 min and had our results within an hour of testing. Enjoy your vacation!

It is possible but dependent upon occupancy levels. You should ask at check in and periodically as you stay progresses.

Taxis readily available at the airport - just ask for a regular cab. Sometimes you may be offered a town car or limo for your cab, which will be pricier. Totally up to you. Anytime you get a cab, always ask about the fare first. Usually the drivers are honest and cool, but doesn't hurt to ask. Also will reiterate what the other reviewer wrote about groceries: there is the Village Grocery at the Paradise Shopping Plaza where you can get the basic essentials like water, sodas, eggs, cheese, bread, milk, juice, etc. My suggestion - if you make your own coffee or tea, or drink water in general, buy your water here because any water on the Atlantis property is almost worth the price of gold or silver! And definitely wait to shop after your room is ready. In case the Village Grocery is too small for your liking, there is a larger market in Nassau (I think it is close to the port where the cruises dock). You will need to take a taxi to get here, but I think Harborside does offer a morning shuttle on Mondays to this market for a fee - ask the concierge or front desk for more info. In regards to jogging, I see runners jogging around the entire Atlantis property all day. You should be fine - ask the front desk if there is a recommended nice course or path you can jog. Btw - the Harborside has a small fitness center. Best wishes on your upcoming vacation!

All room configurations have a washer and a dryer. And there is no need to bring laundry soap. Cleaning services will provide it. A neat trick though is that you can also use the dish soap. I believe it’s a generic Dawn.

There is a calendar provided weekly available in the lobby that includes a list of all resort activities. We did not use it so I cannot say what activities are involved. Your Harborside key card gives you access to the Atlantis facilities. To the extent there are activities there that are available, you should be able to join. However, I think Atlantis charges a fee for most things.
