Great for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Ideally located for all areas of Hoi An. This hotel provides free shuttle service to beach and to ancient city, also free bicycle hire.
Hot and cold buffet breakfast caters for all tastes - fruit, cold meat, salad, Western and Vietnamese dishes and a singing egg chef..!!
This hotel really is an oasis of calm and tranquillity. We booked for 12 days and stayed for five and a half weeks. This is one of the friendliest and most comfortable hotels we have ever stayed in and at a very reasonable price. We consider the management and staff to be our friends; they are all so friendly and helpful - genuinely so.
To name names would be unfair to those we may miss but the manager and her senior team all have made us feel very welcome. That said, every one of the staff here are an absolute credit to this hotel and it's owner - who we were once fortunate enough to meet..!!
We can wholeheartedly recommend Phu Thinh Boutique Resort and Spa and we suggest you read the reviews and look at the online pictures.
It really is fabulous, in every way..!!

You will enjoy Phu Thinh Boutique Resort and Spa: fabulous meals, wonderfully friendly and helpful staff, clean and spacious rooms and delightful gardens. Ensure your stay in Hoi An is particularly memorable by staying a Phu Thinh Boutique Resort. You’ll discover that the resort is a quite haven amongst the business of Hoi An. Enjoy swimming in the spotlessly clean and large pool amongst beautiful gardens, eat a delicious breakfast, and dine in their restaurants. Thank you Phu Thinh for making our stay so special!

My girlfriend and I had a really nice time at this resort, very relaxing and amazing room (which was well worth the upgrade when you get here).
Not too far from town probably about 10 minute walk but if you want to get a taxi it’s very cheap to do so. Alternatively there is a free shuttle bus if you are organised enough to make the timings they run up to about 4.
Very decent breakfast which we have found hard to find in Vietnam. In fact this is probably the first place I’ve been to where they didn’t suggest having spaghetti carbonara as a first meal of the day.
Altogether a wonderful place to stay while In Hoi An and would definitely recommend staying here to anyone.

Very honest review here. The grounds are quite run down as such, however it is very obvious that they are suffering immensely from the effects of COVID and are running on a very tight budget/staffing resources. Firstly, the reception desk staff and doorman that we were greated by very nice on arrival. Although the property on the outside is in need of a little love, it was very clean and all staff we encountered in the grounds and the breakfast area were lovely. On walking in to our room, were incredibly surprised by how lovely the room was, how comfortable the beds were and how spacious the bathroom area was. Also, the TV was incredibly clear, and the internet was fast speed. We had a lovely balcony room that looked out over the pool area, and had lovely chairs and a table to sit at. Air conditioning worked really well in the room and the breakfast was very adequate for what we wanted. We could ask for eggs to be cooked fresh as we wanted them, there was a large selection of fruit and breads/pastries and anything was asked for that wasnt there was provided with a smile. It is in a lovely area of Hoi An as it is a good 15 min walk in to the main area of Hoi An, or they also offer a courtesy bus to get in there free of charge. We chose to do this, then caught a taxi back (very cheap) given the time of night it was and how tired we were. There are heaps of eateries, pubs, bars, massage places, mini marts etc all outside the door of the resort, and everything we needed was within close distance. The massage spa area was not operational, however again I feel that this is due to COVID, and as things pick up, I'm sure they will resume this, along with other services. I would 100% happily stay here again and support this resort, as it is clear to see that with more guests supporting them and helping them, they will be able to get back to being a luxury resort once again.

This was our 2nd visit to Phu Thinh and we do not hesitate recommending. From the moment you arrive it’s like being at home. All the staff are friendly and helpful especially our friend ‘Dragon’ in food & beverage who knew how to make our coffees in the morning and bar drinks in the evening. This trip we treated ourselves to a Junior Suite in the new wing and we were not disappointed. Large luxurious room on the 3rd floor with balcony overlooking the gardens and pool. Breakfast is varied and the restaurant for dinner satisfies if you prefer a night in. The hotel is an easy walk into the old town for dinner and a cheap taxi ride home afterwards. We appreciate the use of push bikes to explore the local villages. Ms Hai, reception supervisor will make sure you have everything you need, in fact all the staff are what make this hotel an excellent choice if you are visiting Hoi An. We’ll certainly return!

Great credit to this hotel for supplying drinking water in jugs in room and water bottle refill station in reception. The Spa was excellent and I enjoyed a full body massage and foot soak with complementary tea. The pool and gardens are lovely and the manager Yvonne is vey accommodating

We stayed 6 nights and had the connecting family room in the new building. The rooms are lovely and huge, with a balcony overlooking the pretty garden, pool and huge pond. There is a bar with happy hour and buffet breakfast included is a very pretty setting overlooking the pond. We got fresh fruit each day which we appreciated and the ladies at the front desk were very helpful. You can get a free shuttle bus to the ancient town or you can walk. There is also a shuttle to the beach where the hotel has a section for the guests. There are free bikes to ride around the rice fields too which was wonderful (although they need new handlebar grips). This Resort is in a great location with so much to offer. Great resort.

We stayed for a few days to recharge our batteries after a hectic time in Vietnam. Our first room was rather noisy so the staff quickly moved us to a more peaceful part of the hotel. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was good but if you are expecting western food, then this is not for you as they provide good local mix of food. We had a massage which was good and value for money. The in-house laundry facilities are great with same day service.

We had a very nice stay at this hotel. We stayed there in the region Hoi An for about 3.5 weeks. All the time we had lovely support from the reception and their employees. I would particularly like to point out the friendly help from 'Chuong' at the reception desk, but also from the other employees. The rooms are equipped with a balcony, in the courtyard there is a large swimming pool surrounded by a well-kept garden. The rooms are kept very clean by a daily good service. The breakfast buffet was lovely and well prepared every day. I can only recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Hoi An. We would love to come back here.

Now this review and critique is aimed at the owners. This is our second stay here our first was in September 2019 and we loved it, so naturally we decided to stay here again on our return to Hoi An in march 2023. Firstly I’ll cover the positives and that is still the staff. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful as always. They made check in and out so easy and helped us with our laundry and got us free taxis into Hoi an as well as arranging bikes for us to hire. The rooms, We had adjoining suites same as our last visit. Our rooms were clean and very spacious. Good air conditioning and quiet and dark so sleep quality is good. Now the not so good experiences we had. Mainly this resort is very run down now. There is no hotel transportation anymore but they did hire taxis for us. There is no bar anymore for the pool or hotel guests. The bar is still there but looks like it’s been closed for years. The main honeymoon suite is closed and run down and looks disgraceful. The hotel has advertising for a wellness spa in the elevator however when my wife and daughter went to book they found the wellness spa is also closed. The grounds are run down and in area dangerous. There is loose and broken pavers everywhere and even on the main walkway into the resort. The breakfast bar is a shadow of what it used to be. A tiny variety of not that great options just isn’t good enough. There used to also be a musical water feature at breakfast that now looks like a tsunami has destroyed it and just left as a pile of rubbish to look at while you eat. The grounds were once pristine and now rundown and not maintained. The once beautiful pool area is now run down and not up to scratch. There is signs of neglect everywhere and even some fire escape stairwells are filled with clutter. This is purely on the owners clearly trying to save some money and run the resort into the ground. I will add photos of the main opportunities this resort had to repair to at least try and be presentable. Overall we don’t recommend anyone stay here who is looking for a relaxing resort because this is just a run down disappointment.
