The Dan Panorama Jerusalem earns praise for its prime location near historical sites and local amenities. Travelers appreciate the clean, modern rooms and the hotel's range of facilities, including a gym and pool, though some maintenance issues have been noted. While the service is generally seen as attentive, there are occasional remarks about unhelpful staff. Opinions on value for money are mixed, with some guests finding the pricing reasonable and others less so. Overall, the hotel boasts a sleek atmosphere, despite some dated elements.

Hotel's Favourite
From the moment you arrive until you leave you experience the friendliest, most accommodating fastest service, that is uncharacteristic for Israeli hotels. If you want something special or unusual, you only need to ask.
The staff is so friendly we got to know most of them on a first name basis. Especially helpful were Gal, Carmen, Naim, Elna and the dining room staff Hamis, Bassam and Shimon. Natan the cook is glad to accommodate anytime with something special. It is obvious that they love their work, and love keeping their guests happy. I also appreciated Rabbi Friedmans efficient handling of holiday prayers.
In spite of that they give you your space and privacy when you want it.
The food is fresh and varied, with many nutritious main dishes and salads, and many nutritious and not so nutritious but delicious desert choices.
The hotel is kept immaculately clean. The cleaning staff is constantly, but unobtrusively cleaning the lobby. Lobby is cozy and spacious. Location is excellent.
The rooms are fine, with 2 shortcomings.
The first is a matter of opinion, someone else may consider it a plus. The beds are too hard. The hotel tried to accommodate me by covering the mattress with a fluffy quilt under the sheet, but that did not help much.
The second, is the climate control. Like many Israeli hotels the AC/heating system is out of date. It is impossible to accurately control the constantly fluctuating temperature in the rooms.

This was my first time in the Holy Land and this hotel was arranged by our tour group. It was the first time staying here for the organizer of the trip. Previously, they stayed outside of Jerusalem. Location wise, we were well positioned with in the city. As other reviews have mentioned they have a lot of the tour groups staying here. The room I was sharing with my room mate, was small, but comfortable beds. Nothing fancy, but after touring all day, all we need are beds and bathrooms. I would give a "ding" to the bathrooms. Only because they had a bathtub with the "half glass" shield shower. What I mean is the glass partition goes about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way in the bathtub, meaning you have to be very careful when you use the shower head to make sure you do not get water outside the tub and on the floor. I had the same set up in a flat I was staying in London. So I was familiar with the set up, but as much as I thought I had learned to prevent water getting outside the tub, I still ended up with wet floor. So not my favorite shower set up. Also it would have been nice to have two towels per person instead of one. Other than that, it was fine. Their food (we had breakfast and dinner) there was set up buffet style. I would say even the most pickiest eaters should be able to find something to eat. This was part of the cost of the tour so you will have to refer to others what the cost is. Again, buffet style works well for tourist who are on a tight schedule and even in the evening when you are tired and want something to eat. Their Sabbath dinner evening was quiet exceptional food wise. Bell hop service that delivered and picked up our luggage were very good.

Our tour group stayed at the Dan Panorama Hotel and had breakfast and suppers served at the hotel. This centrally located hotel is quite elegant, with comfortable rooms and great facilities. The meals were excellent, and served and prepared by well trained staff. Their presence for clearing the tables and putting out the food was done almost seamlessly. The maitre d's, e.g., Hamis Rahman, were friendly and efficient. They all had trained the staff extremely well and it was a pleasure to dine in this hotel.
The clerks at the front desk and the housekeepers and, in fact, all of the staff with whom we encountered were extremely professional, polite and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel to anybody who is considering a trip to Jerusalem.

Recently, we stayed at the Dan Panorama in Jerusalem. We stayed for almost a week, and while it was an acceptable hotel to stay in, it was certainly disappointing. For starters, we had stayed at the Dan Hotels in both Tel Aviv and Haifa, and those were much better than the Dan in Jerusalem. It could use some updating, and there were only two staff we encountered during our long stay that were wonderful. We were able to give only those two staff members a compliment. Eliana and Tony were amazing! However, the rest of the staff were rude and acted like you were lucky if they said hi to you (which they didn't). The breakfast was exceptionally disappointing compared to the other three hotels we stayed at in Israel. Most of the food was bland, flavorless, and picked over. The coffee was good, and the omelettes were one of the only food items that we knew were not touched already by hundreds of other guests. However, instead of risking germs at the omelette station, you risked the wrath of the exceedingly rude omelette chef. The cleaning staff never gave us enough towels for all the members of our family and they never replaced our shampoos and conditioners. Despite the no-smoking sign, the elevators constantly smelled of cigarette smoke. Not just once, but nearly every time we entered one of the three elevators, it reeked of smoke. I would certainly not stay at the Dan Panorama in Jerusalem again, especially compared to the numerous other hotels in the city that are clearly superb.

I made a somewhat last minute reservation due to a sudden change in plans, a friend recommended this property and it was conveniently located to friends I planned to visit. Granted, it was peak season (Hannukah and Christmas weekend), still, the price was steep-included taxes and fees, $360 a night. When I checked in, I was surprised how tiny the room was, not much larger than a good-sized walk-in closet. Even though I was traveling alone, there was not enough room to lay my things out and just a small window overlooking a parking lot. The service and breakfasts were OK, but I felt I way overpaid, would not recommend staying here unless you literally can't find anyplace else.

Best thing is the location. While I read some of the reviews, the lobby and bar area might have been updated. I can agree about staff that ‘helped’ write reviews. However, they were indeed the friendliest of all, and deserved the nice reviews anyway.

Yes, the hotel appears to cater to pilgrimage groups, of which I was a member of. So we were pointed to a particular area of the dining room. It was a buffet system. The food was not labeled, and was substandard. Breakfast was a total disaster, since the tables were not bussed and if one went to eat after 7am there were no clean tables available. I once needed extra napkins, and couldn’t find any, so I grabbed one from a place setting and the wait person was upset with me for doing so.

After the first night, some of us preferred to eat elsewhere, even though breakfast and dinner was included.

Most of us were on the 6th floor, one of our group had a leak with possible mold and had their room changed to a different floor.

I left a couple of items in the nightstand, and no one returned them to security. Could be staff, but based on reviews that spoke to the cleanliness of the rooms, staff might not have even bothered to look in the drawers, so it could have been the guests who used the room after us. Either way, not a good thing.

Oh, and as we were checking out, my roommate had left her credit card in case we wanted to use the bar, which we didn’t charge anything, but a beer and a wine found their way to our bill. To be fair, it was quickly taken off with no argument, but still...

I don’t believe I will ever come back to this hotel for the reasons I have stated, but most importantly, food service, service in general, and management could use an overhaul.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay while on our Church trip. We stayed at this hotel for several nights and the staff were helpful and friendly. Waleed, in the bar, was quite helpful and attentive. The rooms were comfortable. One tip for American visitors, the room key is needed to turn on the bedroom lights (there’s a card slot right by the door!).

Our tour group was welcomed and handled quite efficiently for our five day stay. Hotel is very centrally located and has good parking for tour buses. The dining room easily accommodates several groups at a time and they have additional rooms for meetings. Laundry is expensive, but done very well. Rooms are cleaned daily. It would be nice to have a plug for a curling iron in the bathroom, but there are other plugs in the room. Bring converters. Hairdryer is provided. Loved the electric tea kettle, which we found in all hotels.

We were greeted at the front desk by a friendly, helpful clerk named Saloom.
Has a great smile, eager to please, even brought us some tea to sip while the booking process was being completed. I bumped into him 5 days later in the hotel and he remembered my name!!
The Dining Hall is busy and very active, yet we were greeted with a smile by Naim Gool who escorted us to our; table. Periodically during the meal he would swing by the table to make cetain all our needs were met. The manager Khamis also made it his business to stop by the table, introduce himself and asked if he could be of any assistance. You felt the personalized caring service.
The location of the hotel is ideal; walking distance to the Old City, German Colony, and Mahane Yehudah. It has free parking in an underground garage which is very helpful as we left the car there during our frequent walking trips.
The food is plentiful, great variety and presented in a very appetizing manner.
Bottom Line--we all have choices where to stay at, we consistently choose the Dan Panorama in Jerusalem.

Bar tender in the lobby bar spends more time trying to get reviews than waiting on customers. I personally saw him writing the reviews on the customer's phones. So don't believe the bar reviews.
Hotel completely caters to tour buses and for them includes buffet breakfast and dinner. For everyone else it's over priced at $24 for breakfast and $52 for dinner.
Buffet food was mediocre at best. Bar food was pretty good, but service was incredibly slow (for the reasons above).
Hotel room A/C was inconsistent, and had to be turned on each time you returned to your room.
You can walk to the old city, but will likely need google maps or similar to navigate that. It's probably a 15-20 min walk.
Mediocre hotel in a pretty good location.

Friday night dinner in the hotel is expensive. What is it like? How is the quality?
Answer from R Dan
1. Many restaurants in Jerusalem are closed on Friday night because of the Shabbat. Some remain open on a reservation ONLY prepayment. 2. Personally, never ate dinner at the Panorama. 3. Breakfast was superb and could not be beat. 4. The hotel business has become very competitive so they could not charge that without it being quality. Hope this helps. Enjoy!
