I was very sceptacle of this hotel at first when my friend booked it, however that suddenly change upon arrival. We were greeted with smiles like we were family, even though it is a spanish speaking country the guest service attendant spoke english very fluently and this was all the better. She was very polite and courteous and what else of course very beautiful. We were giving on keys and the room was outright nice just like a miami hotel. Beautiful decor, cold AC and of course hot water. All in all the service was excellent and I would definetly recommend this hotel if you are staying in La Ceiba. The reason for my 4 stars however is the rules the have against guest if you invite them, beware there is a surcharge but all in all excellent Hotel. Will book again

Updated hotel in the zona vive on the beach with pools and a water slide. In the middle of restaurants and night life. Rooms are simple but clean and service is good. Great value at $54 per night for King bed. Two restaurants on site with decent food.

La quinta real was booked so we went here. Got three rooms. A lot of construction noise. Pool under repair. In one of the rooms the air con didn’t work. That partner met someone and brought them back to the room. They called and said we had to pay for that. Ok great. At check out the person at reception, Alberto, stated he was going to charge us for the additional person. I asked if the was a discount for the air con not working, the construction noise, one other member of our group had to change rooms do to a water issue. He ignored me. I asked again and he said those things had nothing to do with the additional person charge. I agreed it didn’t I said it’s two different issues, what discount would you give me for my issue I asked. Nothing Albert said, visually bothered by my simple question. Lesson learned. Book La Quinta Real in advance. Don’t stay here. Thanks Albert!

This place has been going downhill big time. It used to be really nice a few years ago with a nice beach area, cleans pools, and good food, but that all changed for the worse. Both pools are filthy dirty, and not just because there’s stuff floating around in them. There’s a nasty brown dirt substance around the perimeter inside one of the pools. The other pool you can’t even see a foot in it’s so murky. Dirty dishes left around on the tables, etc etc Breakfast used to be a nice buffet, now a piece of toast, two eggs, and uncooked bacon. There is no more beach, just huge rocks and you can’t even get down to walk around. For over $100 a night they really need to step it up. The rooms were pretty clean, but that’s about all the positives. It must have new management, we used to really enjoying coming here.

We stay there only one night. The service is terrible, the hallways are with sensor light which go off quickly before you are able to open the room door, which is very scary. There was no hot water. The pool was filthy. Don't know about the dinner since the waiter was taking order did not put my order in, so I got up and left to my room. The continental breakfast was skimpy if you like to eat, but ok. This was the first and last stay at the Partenon for us.

Well positioned hotel. The restaurant looks over the Caribbean and from the back there are great views of the hills. Everything was closed by 9.15 on Sunday and coffee not great but staff helpful. Four pieces of fitness equipment in the'gym' but the treadmill did not work.

During a photography assignment in La Ceiba, I stayed a couple of days in the Parteneon Beach Hotel. To those who feel suspicious due to some older reviews here I can only say that things changed in very positive ways since the new hotel management took over. My double room was very spacy and provided everything needed. Room service (cleaning) was always on time and did a good job. Not all off the staff speaks English but more than enough do so I never had any trouble to get what I asked for. Actually I found the hotel's staff very very friendly, helpful and sympathetic. I had trouble with my photo gear and was in urgent need of a few tools. Half of the hotel staff ran around to find a solution for me. At the end, someone drove to town and bought it for me. Those items did not even appear on the bill. The food was nothing but excellent and especially on weekends, many people do visit the restaurant just for the food. The free WLAN worked much better than at other places I stayed at that area. Rooms, bathrooms, lobby, restaurant and all hotel facilities are clean. You can book trips to points of interests around directly at the hotel, so there is no need to go to town. I'd find that service very useful. Furthermore, everything felt and looked save. One day it came to my notice that a guest of the hotel's restaurant left a few banknotes back on the table after paying his bill and leaving the place. Certainly that was meant as tip but none touched that money, believing the guest just forgot/lost it there and will surely come back in a bit. I personally found that very interesting and it proved that the hotel staff is very reliable and highly trustworthy. After a few days they got used to my habits and even though it might be just something little, I found it very pleasing that, after returning to the hotel from my job, my cold beer was ready on the table...without any further need to say something. It are those little friendly gestures by friendly people that certainly will make me book the Partenon Beach Hotel again whenever my job brings me back to La Ceiba.

The hotel is trying very hard to be 5 star and just missing. There is a shortage of English speaking staff, only one computer for guests and it works intermittently, a lavish menu of food they don't actually have, crumbling stucco. That said, for this part of the world it is a luxurious hotel with two pools, two restaurants, and an armed guard. The problem is the hotel guests. We had dinner amidst children running between tables, turning cartwheels and banging on the drums the band had left set up. The noise level was incredible... and then there was some kind of celebration involving loudspeakers, speeches and dance music just under our window that continued into the early morning hours. We planned to stay 3 nights and left after one.
