This resort is amazing. It is a small, intimate all-inclusive directly on the beach. The rooms are exceptionally clean; the food is outstanding; drinks are plentiful. The beach area is kept super clean with plenty of loungers. Paddle boards and kayaks are available free of charge. Bikes are also provided and there are golf carts available on site for rental. The best part of this resort--the staff! From the time you step on the property you are treated like family. Just ask--they can usually make it happen! Our saddest time was leaving, but we know we will return.

My stay at Laru Beya Resort was absolute bliss. The staff was so helpful and professional from booking to check out. They called me after my initial inquiry to let me know they're rooms were going fast so i could secure my room in time. When we arrived indeed they were full and allowed us to use their staff parking lot. The front desk receptionist was friendly and accommodating. We got a charming one bedroom oceanview standard room on the third floor with a hammock on a breezy balcony that overlooked the pool & sea. It all had very cozy and relaxing feel. Their infinity pool was deeper than i thought but it was just the right size and temperature with the right location looking out to the sea a couple feet away. The Quarterdeck Restaurant had its own charm with 3 levels to dine and a lower lounge area. Food was served promptly at the restaurant and poolside, i must say that the bartenders smoothie skills were on point. The resort also has a mini gulf area that i didn't get to explore. What i did appreciate was their book collection and their book exchange in the lobby and in the restaurant lounge (i scored a James Patterson). A stay at Laru Beya Resort is definitely recommended, you won't regret it.

We have just returned from a three night stay at Laru Beya Resort. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was immaculate, and we had a beautiful view of the ocean and a pleasant porch area with a hammock and chairs. We ate our meals in a beautiful four-story open air restaurant and bar. The wait staff was superb and called us by name. We enjoyed cocktails from the bar as well as the delicious food. We noticed constant maintenance of the area, sweeping the paths and sand, racking up sea weed .... We had originally booked a driver and car through the resort for our transportation back to Belize City. We later decided to fly instead. A friend and I, two young women, booked the “Just Chillin” all inclusive package for five days at Laru Beya Dec. 9-14. We flew from Belize City to Placencia. We arrived hours earlier than planned but a representative from the resort arrived quickly to pick us up.
The resort looked lovely. Lots of beautiful flowering plants, a nice pool, and views of the ocean. We were brought drinks as we checked into our rooms, which was incredibly thoughtful.
The rooms themselves were nice and had wonderful ocean views. The only suggestion we have for the bedrooms would be to add more blackout curtains. I work second shift and am a light sleeper so I struggled to get enough sleep.
The bathrooms though, definitely need work. All of the faucets appear old and only half work. My shower only had hot water, which you turned on by turning the knob both directions several times until something would finally catch and the water would come out. My friend’s shower also had issues, with the knobs not working correctly. I think the bathrooms need upgrading and a solid cleaning as well.
The food at the restaurant was wonderful. Delicious and fresh. However, if you are in a hurry, you’ll need to plan ahead as we would often wait 40-60 minutes to receive our food. I do recognize however, that in the Latin American culture, a meal is an event and should be relaxing and enjoyed, and often takes time. The waitstaff, Emory, Santiago, and a few others, were all pleasant, professional, and friendly.
I have edited my original post as we had an issue with an employee. The management team at the resort reached out to us quickly and in a very professional manner solved this issue. They were incredibly kind and understanding in the process, and I am now a huge fan of this company. They went above and beyond to make things right and I would recommend the resort to all of my friends.
Laru Beya is a lovely place with nice ocean views, excellent food, and professional staff.

This place was wonderful. The facilities are beautiful and well cared for. The ocean view one bedroom suite we stayed in was just about perfect. The bed was so comfortable and the view from our private balcony was heavenly. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. We played miniature golf on their course for the first time in 50 years and so much fun. They are so gracious to us who live here permanently, Belizeans and permanent residents. With the pandemic world wide they opened their place for staycations at very affordable prices. They are well prepared for when international tourists can return to Belize. Thankfully, right now us locals can still enjoy it. I plan to bring my family for a stay whenever the airport opens and they can come in.

We had a great time in Placencia and at Laru Beya Resort. The front desk staff, grounds crew, waitresses and cleaning crew were all very nice and accommodating. Most of them greated us by name after our first day there. We were there 8 days and the resort was very clean, the pool and lounge chairs were nice as well as the beach. Our waitresses, Erica and Nelsie were very friendly and accommodated all our requests. Ann Marie, the bartender was also very friendly and funny and made me a special birthday drink. The only problem we had was with some of the food at the Quarterdeck. My husbands fish was over cooked and dry as well as his chicken. He ordered fish with his breakfast and it was so dry he couldn't eat it. He also ordered the snapper which is a fish on their menu and should be all white meat and was served something other than snapper because it had dark meat also. I definitely wouldn't do an all inclusive here unless you like to drink a lot. We rented a golf cart almost everyday from the resort and drove into the southern most part of placencia where there are many restaurants and bars to choose from as well as grocery stores. We bought the local bear and seltzers for $1.60 a bottle and took them back to the resort with us. We had some really good food at De Tatch and Dawn's Grill. Overall we had a really good experience here. The front desk gave me the name of a good dive shop where I went snorkeling around the barrier reef and swam with a sea turtle. They also arranged for a covid test to be taken right at the resort for us and had the results back in 15 min and printed out for us for our trip home.

The quality of service at Laru Beya is outstanding. We had read very impressive reviews and it certainly lived up to our standards, and more! My partner and I (early 30's, Canadian) were thoroughly impressed and relaxed throughout our entire stay.
The amenities and pool and beach were very well maintained and organized with lots of fun beach games (cornhole, horseshoes, etc.) throughout the day (including a great Hobie cat ride - wonderful addition, thank you for that). It was a perfect balance of small games, and quiet sunshine/relaxation with nothing to do. The rooms were well managed and were very nicely organized and setup upon arrival. Loved using the balcony hammock in the late afternoon. The bartending and food service team were also extraordinary and I want to send them all our sincere thanks!
Overall great trip and stay, Laru Beya is a special place.

My husband and I got married on February 8th, 2019 and spent a week of our honeymoon at Laru Beya. It was truely amazing. Not only are the grounds gorgeous and meticulously kept, but the staff was amazingggg. The Front desk staff are wonderful people. They took such good care of us, they were kind, friendly, and accommodating... We wanted for nothing! We had an unbelievable view from our villa of both the ocean and the infinity pool. The weather was beautiful, especially at night as it was breezy and cool enough to sleep with the sliding doors open. The village was great. We took golf carts (provided by Laru Beya for a tiny fee) into the village Placencia on several occasions and had a great time letting the children ride on the golf carts and then exploring all the different small shops and quiant restaurants the village has to offer. We went on a Monkey River Tour one day and fished another day, both excursions were great. Our honeymoon was a peaceful, romantic, yet fun filled experience and our stay at Laru Beya was the most unique and magical experience we have yet to have during our travels!

Booked two nights before and after a 6 day Moorings catamaran charter. This place is the perfect place to stage such a trip as it is literally across the street from the Moorings base. After the charter my wife and I stayed at Laru Beya to unwind before our return to the states. When we returned to the hotel we were welcomed like family. No paperwork required and received the same room we had the previous week. Unfortunately, the night before we were to fly out, we took our COVID tests and my wife passed, but I didn't. She had to return as scheduled but I had to stay at the resort under quarantine. I was upset about this as I scheduled a few days at the end of my vacation to have a "staycation," at home before returning to work. The staff did everything they could to ensure I was as comfortable as possible under the circumstances. Room service was always delivered with a smile and I was able to stay in my ocean view room (there weren't any other guests for most of my quarantine). What better place to isolate than on the beach in paradise right?
I would highly recommend staying here if you are ever in Placencia.

This resort definitely meets my expectations. The price is definitely worth it. We got an oceanfront suite. The beach was just steps away from our room. The food was delicious, pricey but very good. Our room had a full kitchen where you can cook. It had utensils, plates, pots and pans, etc. The room had very good views of the sea in the living room and bedroom area. The resort is a little far from the Main strip but we rented golf carts. We were also able to use their kayaks and water equipment for free. Housekeeping did a very good job cleaning up the room. We enjoyed relaxing and being pampered and swimming in the pool.

We typically fly direct to Belize City. From there you can use Tropic Air or Mayan Air for about a 40 minute puddle jumper to Placencia. Laru Beya can arrange the flight from Belize City. Driving takes about 4-5 hrs from Belize City.
Yes as mentioned by the other travelers, tours can be substituted for an upgrade fee with others that are offered outside the all inclusive packages. And yes, you can add tours on top of the 4 tours that are included in the 6 - 14 night all inclusive packages. When you book with us, the Reservation Team will ask you to fill out a Guest Info Form that lists and allow you to check off the included tours as well as the add-on tours, so that we can get an idea about which activities you're interested in before your arrival.
