If you want a clean comfortable hotel with breakfast included steps away from the best dive shop in Coco Beach- look no further. Rocket Frog Divers shop is in the parking lot of the hotel and offer daily dive trips. The hotel amenities are basic, but clean and comfortable. Shower pressure was good and we were upgraded to a room with a kitchenette which was great with several grocery/produce stores just across the street. The hotel pool area is small but functional and the hotel staff are friendly and helpful.

The room and the breakfast represented quite average qualities. Let us however mention the soundproofing of the room that was on the better side, which is important in busy regions with lots of party folks. Perhaps also the following service deserves to be mentioned. After notifying the hotel that we shall arrive at Colono Beach very late, the night guard was kindly prepared with the key of our room and the guest form.
The visit was before the COVID-19 restrictions.

The hotel room was clean and basic. The bathroom was spacious but bring your own hair dryer. The swimming pool was a nice amenity. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was typical Tiko food but they also provided bread, fresh fruits, and fresh juice. The location of the hotel is very convenient: walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and supermarkets. Heads up: the restaurant next to the hotel played music quite loudly until about 10.30pm on some nights.

Aside from the fact that every hotel in CR has its quirks, we really enjoyed our 2 night stay. Location was very close walk to all the restaurants and beach. Had adequate security and manager was pleasant and professional. Breakfast was served poolside. Once seated guests were greeted with juice, coffee and plates of fresh fruit and given a choice of a typico/ Tico Breakfsst or omelet msde to order. Both choices were nice. Room was clean and comfortable. Would choose to day again and seemed to the better choice compared to other hotels friends stayed at.

The hotel is a block from a good sized grocery and the old town restaurants. The staff were helpful and spoke English. My room was large and clean. However, the air conditioning wasn't enough to keep the room cool and the pool needed to be cleaned more often as it was murky a couple of days. All in all, I would recommend this hotel.

We spent a few days in this hotel and it was wonderful. Playa Coco is very lively seaside town with many tourists, hotels, restaurants and nightlife. Beach is nice but my favorite was smaller Playa Ocotal very nearby.

The locals were very friendly, and so were the people working there. Everything including the beaches were very close, I liked everything about it, I recommend for anyone visiting Costa Rica for the first time, it includes clubs and other fun things to do. The local hotel cat, Pepe was also very nice and greeted me every evening. (He loves fried fish, by the way). The rooms were also very great, and full of space. iTuanis Mae!

Great hotel in a great location. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Short walk to beach and strip where there are many restaurants and shops to choose from. Daily maid service is good. Beach towels and bath towels provided. They are good quality. Only complaint - bathroom has no counter space to put toiletries. Pool is clean and cool. Awesome to hang out by the pool - lounge chairs are good quality. Hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast is good - typical Costa Rican food with fresh fruits. Grocery store across the street if you need drinks and snacks.

The hotel was nicely located walking distance from several beaches and dive shops. 2-3 min walk to a big supermarket and other convenient things. The pool was a bit small and the rooms were smaller than expected but were clean and fairly nice.

I think we had breakfast about 7 am. I remember we were a bit early, however, they served us coffee while we waited for them to be ready. Enjoy this cosy Place!
I flew into Liberia airport which is much closer so I cannot comment on cab costs from San Jose. I did see a bus stop across the street from the hotel and I was aware of another one a couple of walkable blocks away. Locals told me it is possible to take busses all the way to or from San Jose/Coco. They said it is cheap but it takes all day. Since Coco is so far from San Jose I would contact a tour operator that advertises airport shuttle service, I suspect it will be less expensive than a taxi half way across the country. If your travels are confined to the Coco/west coast area you may want to consider flying into the Liberia airport. If on the other hand you are visiting the rain forests, volcanoes, and/or east coast then staying in Coco will not be efficient. Consider staying in or closer to San Jose.
There are more places to choose from in the Coco area.
