Nestled in a picturesque location by the sea, Siyam World Maldives is lauded for its exceptional service and vibrant atmosphere, with staff members consistently earning praise for their attentiveness. Guests have called out the hotel's comprehensive array of amenities, including luxurious villas with slides and diverse dining options. While the all-inclusive packages are generally seen as valuable, a few reviewers warn that certain activities can be costly. The cleanliness of the hotel is another highlight, with immaculate rooms and well-kept grounds, although there have been occasional mentions of maintenance issues in the rooms.

Hotel's Favourite
We had the most fantastic trip to Siyam World in July. I hope this very long review is useful and objective. It reflects our experience of ten nights at Siyam World.

Booking
We booked through a fab independent travel company called Rock My World travel. They are amazing with first class service from Isobel, Mark and Leanne from start to finish. I’d highly recommend them. We booked in September 2021 before the resort opened and there were some fab deals. Lots of people moaning on here about snags on the island should remember that the hotel has only been open 9 months and there are likely to be snaggings and teething issues as any new build house would have. I’d also say that the prices for the majority of people up to this point have reflected that they are still in the snagging period based on prices for next year being more than we paid by some stretch (we’ve already looked into going back).

Transfer
We went on the seaplane which was seamless. Our flight landed at Male at 8.45 and we were at the resort checking in by 12.45. All our bags were about 20kg each so we didn’t need to pay any excess.

Welcome and Ambassadors
We were greeted on the welcome jetty by a drummer and squad of ambassadors. Lil was our ambassador and was so lovely. She was friendly and smiley and took us to our room where she gave us a quick update on where everything was and what to expect whilst on the island. I think it’s really important to point out that the ambassadors are not our personal butlers!!! You can do most of the things yourself like booking a restaurant on the app or looking at the spa menu. We are quite self sufficient to the point Lil often messaged us asking if we were ok as we hadn’t been in touch for a day whereas we saw and heard other people treating their ambassadors like some sort of hired help which was awkward. Lil was the perfect ambassador- there when we needed her and so kind and helpful. I actually cried when she hugged us goodbye at the seaplane jetty.

The app
Download the Siyam World app before you go and book anything you want to in advance. All the restaurant menus are on there too. It’s super easy. We did everything on it while we were there.

Island Size
We have been to Conrad Rangali and CoCo Palm Bodu Hithi previously and they were smaller, relaxed islands that were great for couples. We chose Siyam World because it was big and had lots to do for all of us (two adults and a ten year old). If you are looking for an intimate typical Maldivian experience then this probably isn’t it for you. If you are looking for loads to do and a brilliant choice of restaurants and activities then you will love this - there is a reason why they call it the world of possibilities. The island is about 5km round the edge and fab service from purple buggies that go round in circles. Wait at a bus stop of flag one when they go past. We witnessed some really rude behaviour toward the super friendly buggy drivers when people didn’t appreciate that they go in different directions. If a driver says he isn’t going your way, wait for the next one rather than give him a mouthful. We never waited more than 5 minutes for a buggy.

The rooms
This is our 3rd time in the Maldives and we have always preferred beach villas to water villas. There is more space indoors and out, direct access to the beach and they have sun and shade in equal measure. We also love the outdoor bathrooms as you get visits from lizards and fruit bats while you have your showers which was cool. We split our time between Sunset Beach Villa 227 (great location and so peaceful) and Beach House 706. They were both lovely in different ways. The Sunset Beach Villas benefit from super close access to the beach and outdoor bathrooms. It was very comfortable for 2 adults and a 10 year old. The beach house was very spacious and pure luxury and we really didn’t want to leave - it was a beautifully designed house on two floors.

The mini bars are well stocked with beer and soft drinks and some chocolate and nuts and they fill up what needs replacing every day. There are plenty of fresh towels and the room was spotless. If you look carefully you might find a few snags that some people have moaned about (like faded paint on a bathroom door?!) but nothing worth spoiling your holiday whining about. The beds were harder than we are used to and in hindsight we might have asked for mattress toppers if we’d known they had them. We had an issue with the bathroom plumbing which was quickly fixed with no hassle and we were happy with the way it was dealt with. No point moaning about things like this on holiday when the staff are so committed to fixing things and looking after you. Please be nice to them if things go wrong - too many people had incredibly bad manners and it was really upsetting to watch at times (more of this later)

The Pools and Snorkelling
The reality was that we we didn’t really use our room pool much at all. We spent most of our time at Orchid or Together pools or the sea and only went to Jungali once. I went to Mint once for an hour without my daughter and loved a bit of adult only peace! There has been lots of chat on here about broken tiles and closed pools. My honest advice would be to chill about about it all. We had read in advance on here that there were some issues with broken tiles and wore pool shoes the whole time whilst they are being fixed which was no big deal at all - I don’t understand why people think this is an outrageous solution? The one time my daughter didn’t (even though we reminded her to) she got a minor cut on her toe which a plaster sorted. I’ve also read some crazy things on here about people demanding upgrades as Jungali was closed when they arrived - these things happen at a new resort and there are plenty of other pools that more than make up for one pool closure. The hotel can’t upgrade rooms for a whole island of people because one pool is shut?!

The sea is so warm. The red flags were up on the sunset side quite a lot but again, it didn’t spoil anything. I’ve attached a map that Thuhu the marine biologist gave us which marks the better snorkel spots with black oval rings. I would say that the snorkelling is not as good as previous places we have visited in the Maldives because of the recent construction at Siyam World but there is still plenty of fish and marine life to see. Go to the marine biologist talk at the sports bar. It’s really interesting.

The weather
I got so bored of reading people on this group moaning about the weather or obsessing about what the weather would be like. Use Google or ask your travel agent before you book to figure out the key seasons! Be aware that the rainy season in this part of the world is May to October (inclusive) so if you go expecting some rain whilst you are there, you won’t be disappointed. It is not surprisingly the cheapest time to go during this season because the weather can be a little unpredictable (you pay a big premium for the Maldives November to March). Rain won’t spoil your holiday unless all you want to do is sunbathe the whole time and if that’s what you want, renting a trip to the Maldives in rainy season and go somewhere else. Because of the proximity to the equator, the sun is really intense especially when cloudy. We wore factor 50 the whole time and still burned a couple of times. Be careful especially with kids….

Mosquitoes
It’s a very big and jungly tropical island and the daily fumigation didn’t have the same effect on controlling the mossies as previous islands we visited. We all took antihistamines (chlorophenamine which is a generic piritin) from a week before we arrived and all the time we were there. We were all badly bitten (on a par with a trip to Kenya) but because we took the piritin they didn’t itch - they just looked horrific. The mossie sprays we bought with us didn’t work. We asked for mossie spray from the room guys and sprayed the room well every night before bed. Don’t let the thought of mossies spoil your holiday.

Food
The food was amazing. We absolutely loved it and couldn’t fault anything. We preferred Barabaru at brekkie as it was quieter and smaller but still had the same selection of food. Lunchtime paella with a glass of rose and the amazing cheesecake at Andalusia and the best sushi we have ever eaten at Arigato were our highlights for sure. The grilled steak and huge prawns at Wahoo were top notch. The Thai food at Takrai and Indian Food at Kurry leaf was authentic and delicious. Jungali was good for burgers, pizza and fast food but we only went there once. We only used the Tempo buffet for lunch twice and once for dinner as we preferred a la carte but the buffet had lots of choice and everything was fresh.

We booked restaurants before we arrived on the app as we wanted to try them all. We made a few changes on the app whilst we were there. If you really want to eat at a particular place book it ahead - some get really booked up (Wahoo for example was generally booked out at lunchtime a couple of days in advance). It’s a huge island with 400+ rooms and lots of people so you can’t always just rock up and expect to get in.

We loved orchid bar the best and went there most of the time. It was quieter than together and we had fun chatting to the bar staff. Mint was nice too though adults only.

ACTIVITIES
We did the complimentary sunset Dolphin cruise and were lucky to see 3 pods of dolphins. We also did the snorkel trip which was quite good but if you are happy to hold your breath and snorkel down to the house reefs on the island it might be a waste of time for you to do the trip. We had bikes for a few days and loved cycling round the island around 5pm when it got cooler. We had spa treatments and loved them - the treatment list, prices and facilities are on a par with some of the other 5* hotels I’ve stayed at around the world. We used the hotel snorkels and flippers that were free. We enjoyed the inflatable assault course (harder than it looks!) and stand up paddle boards/canoes which we’re also free. There are many other chargeable activities which were on the pricey side so we didn’t do any but some people we spoke to who did them said they were great.

The staff
The staff were what made our visit so special. They were incredible. They all smile, say hello, are kind and helpful – nothing seemed too much trouble and you could tell that all of them were happy in their job.  The island is pristine, clean and amazingly well kept and credit should particularly go to the unsung heroes like the room guys and those who work so hard in the heat keeping the pathways clear, potholes filled (after the rain) and the jungle trimmed. They work so hard and are happy and cheerful. This is why we were so disgusted to see regular rudeness directed toward them from some guests. Yes people have all paid a lot of money to go to Siyam World but many people clearly left their manners at home or on the plane - if you need to complain you can still be respectful and polite. I was upset seeing large families be outrageously demanding in Arigato and watching the staff handle it so professionally when they must have been hurting inside. I was disappointed to see kids clicking their fingers at staff to get drinks whilst their parents watched on thinking it was acceptable. I was angry seeing a family drop plates on the floor when their table wasn’t cleared quickly enough (yes, really!). I felt deflated every time the cheerful charming bus drivers got a mouthful of abuse because they politely explained that he wasn’t going In a particular direction and to wait for the next buggy. My ten year old daughter learned some valuable lessons about how some people behave on this holiday and how we would never tolerate it in our family.

Here are some of the people who made our holiday awesome. Please look out for them.

LIL – our fabulous ambassador. We were so lucky to have her.  She is very perceptive and quickly realised that we are quite a self sufficient family and didn’t need a lot.  She would check in every day and say ‘haven’t heard from you.  If you need anything please remember I’m here to help’.   We only really needed her help a couple of times and she was very responsive and couldn’t do enough for us. And even when we didn’t need anything, she’d pop by to say hi or wave to us enthusiastically from her buggy as she whizzed around. She lives and breathes Siyam World in all she does and says in such a genuine and authentic way.

LUCKY – the charming singing buggy driver with his trademark sunglasses on. Hard to believe he has only been there a short time. He was so interesting to chat to and remembered a lot about things we’d told him so we always had something to talk to him about.  We even found ourselves going the long way round to our room a few times so we could continue a conversation about rugby!  All of the drivers were really great, but Lucky stood out as being a total pro with a great attitude and cheerful outlook.

NIKHIL & NA-AM IN ANDALUCIA – our paella lunches were so special and such fun.  Na-am had the most wonderful dry sense of humour and really made us laugh out loud.  And Nikhil was a really thoughtful and attentive waiter. Polite, knowledgeable and so friendly – he remembered our regular order of lunchtime food and drink which became a bit of a standing joke.

GOVIN IN TEMPO – Govin was the calmest and most smiley guy in a very busy restaurant.  He rushed around with graceful elegance with a huge smile on his face and could not do enough for us.  He really stood out amongst all the staff there.

THE BARTENDERS IN ORCHID – our favourite bar which we discovered on our third day and didn’t really drink anywhere else after that.
- NICK is a total legend.  Hard to believe he’s been on the island a month!  He was so funny and genuinely led us to believe he was from Glasgow (he’s actually Sri Lankan!).  He has a great rapport with all the guests and we really enjoyed hanging out at the bar chatting to him whilst he made drinks. Our daughter loved his jokes and silly stories and his cheeky sense of humour – and all the accents he could do! He went out of his way to get Oreo’s to make a milkshake for our daughter when she said they were her favourite.

- JAI.JV was also great.  Super friendly and made great drinks and always remembered what we wanted even before we ordered it.  We always got a really warm welcome from him

- SARVESH – went above and beyond to help us located my husband’s lost phone and made us some fantastic cocktails.

- PARAS – a really knowledgeable bar tender who knew so much about so many types of drinks. My husband and I worked in the spirits industry for many years and we had a great chat with Paras about Gin and Whisky.  He’s a superstar in the making for sure….

RICHARD IN TAKRAI – we really enjoyed talking to Richard about how the island had been developed and what some of the future plans are. He could not speak more highly of working at Siyam World and was a brilliant ambassador for the resort

CHOTU IN TAKRAI – he kept our drinks topped up with a smile and was a lovely chap

PRINCE IN BARABAARU – what a helpful and smiley guy.  Nothing was too much trouble.

CHAI IN WAHOO – what a wonderful chap. So friendly and greeted us like long lost friends every time we saw him.

NIHAO – with a title of Chief Happiness Officer he has a lot resting on his shoulders with over a thousand guests on the island! He was the ultimate professional and every time he saw us would make a point of asking how we were getting on and if we had enjoyed our holiday.

PRAKASH – our room guy in room 706.  He’s a treasure. Our house was immaculate and he made so much effort from the bed art, the little notes and getting us mosquito spray when he could see how bitten we’d been. Quiet but perceptive and he was another great example of someone who never stopped smiling.

JUDY In the spa was the perfect welcoming host.  She had a big beaming smile and a lovely manner. I really enjoyed chatting with her.  And HENI (who I believe is also quite new) did the most fantastic massage which really helped get some bad knots out of my stiff back.  I felt ten feet tall afterwards.  The spa was absolutely beautiful and worth a visit to treat yourself

And last but not least.  Our wonderful friends at ARIGATO. By the end of the holiday, they felt like family!
- HERMES JR. GARCIA is a very talented chef and a really lovely guy.  For lunch and dinner, he chose us some of his favourite dishes which was a lovely surprise.  The food was some of the best we’ve ever eaten
- RENU who was our favourite waitress of the whole trip.  She had a wonderful air of calm and kindness about her.  She is intelligent, knowledgeable and provides a service that went above and beyond. Perceptive, pre-emptive and so thoughtful – on a number of occasions she decorated the table with lovely messages.  She was so kind to our daughter too.
- AHMED, RAHUL AND SUDHA were the perfect guys to work alongside Renu.  They made a brilliant team.  Their smiles and enthusiasm were infectious and we loved seeing them for breakfast at Arigato during our time in the Beach House Collection

IN SUMMARY
You can always judge a holiday by whether you’d go back not by whether it is 5* or 4* or whether drinks were slow to be served or spa treatments were expensive. And we would return in a heartbeat. For the first time in my life (and I’ve travelled extensively) I had tears in my eyes as we left the island. It may have had a few small teething troubles having been open less than 9 months but nothing that would spoil our holiday. The staff and food were particularly brilliant. Don’t read and internalise all the negative reviews. Perfection is hard to find even on an expensive holiday so be kind if there are a few hiccups as the island is still very new

We had a wonderful time, very lucky to spend 2 weeks there. The island is beautiful and very well kept by the very hard working ground’s people. The staff are gorgeous souls, we came across so many happy helpful staff. The island is very big and very well serviced by large buggies taking us wherever we wanted to go (it really was to hot to walk to far)
We spent most of our daytime at Mint bar which was adults only. The Bar staff were absolutely amazing we never had empty glasses and their energy and enthusiasm to keep us happy was first class. We had lunch at Wahoo (next to Mint) everyday and the choice and standard of food was excellent.
The snorkelling was fabulous straight off the beach and we were very lucky to see and swim alongside an array of awesome marine life, Eagle Rays, turtle, sharks, dolphins, stingray’s, and many beautiful fish.
Evening choices, standard and quality of food were superb, we visited every restaurant and throughly enjoyed them all.
I had a wonderful Balinese full body massage and reflexology treatment while I was there and it was fabulous and the spa is beautiful.
Our Beach suite was serviced twice daily and kept cleaned and well stocked, it felt very private.
This island is very family oriented with so many activities and entertainment aimed at children/families, though we were not bothered by the family environment at all ( very well behaved children)
We probably would not return to this island simply because, except for using all of the restaurants we really only used 1/4 of the island. We have now experienced a small, medium and large island and would return to a medium size.

Because of the size and the amount of lovey staff members we came across we found tipping extremely difficult. May be tipping boxes for different service areas in the main reception would be very helpful, including for ground staff and drivers.
Full face snorkel was a game changer for us.
Definitely take more high factor sun cream than you think.
Massive thanks Siyam World for an amazing holiday.
Ajay was just one of our fabulous bar person’s that made our day’s so special always smiling.

We stayed at this luxury paradise for 5 nights with 2 kids and I must say it was one of the most relaxing and carefree holiday we have had.
Right from arrival at the Male airport, you are taken care off till you are dropped back at the airport, such personal care all the way!!
At the resort, we were welcomed and treated by the warm resort staff and that's where Siddharth picked us up and directly took us to our assigned water villa. We didn't have to go thru the regular reception check in! The villa was ready and what a beauty it was!! Very comfortable for 2 adults and 2 kids!! The water villa was spacious, with an outside deck, a plunge pool and a water slide directly into the ocean - with pristine waters and absolutely safe for adults and kids. My 8 year son would have been on the slide a 100 times and he enjoyed it thoroughly (though he isn't a swimmer). The life jacket (available in the room itself) was very handy!

The entire resort has 10s of restaurants, bars, pools and beaches. You could go into any restaurant and enjoy the fantastic fare of drinks and food.

The staff were always attentive, warm and welcoming.

You enjoy such personal care at the resort that we didn't have to call reception for any assistance. Siddharth added us on WhatsApp and anything that we need, he was just a whatsapp away! We had Eid prayers on one of the days and Siddharth picked us from our villa at just after dawn and took us to the in house mosque, which was beautiful!

The resort has a full suite of usual water sports, with some unique high end stuff too like, the dolphin capsule, water jet boarding and huge floating water park over the ocean.

There are tons of activities going on and you are updated of the same on their app. You could make fine dine restaurant reservations, book spa treatments and sign up for activities right from the App itself!

My wife and I used the spa and I must say both of us felt it was one of the most luxurious, secluded and a truly calming space. The masseuse were excellent and truly caring. Definitely work a vist (although a bit expensive compared to such class of resorts at other destinations)

The food at the specialist restaurants was fantastic and the two buffet restaurants were always having fresh food with different themes each night.

We stayed for the last two days in a beach villa suite with a pool and it was a different experience all together, with uninterrupted views of the beach right from your bed!

This place also has a huge kids area where kids can spend hours together, while parents can enjoy other activities like go for a snorkeling trip or go scuba diving!

Special mention to Siddharth for taking care of us all throughout the stay and to Ashok at the spa for an excellent and truly relaxing and professional spa treatment.

One thing which stood out was the absolute carefree non intrusive but comforting service available throughout the resort. Felt like you owned the place!

Kudos to the entire team!!

Fantastic family holiday , stunning island , snorkelling , jungle paths , gym , sports courts and friendly staff .

Having spent months reading mixed reviews on here and the Facebook group we were well prepared for the kinks in the service , and perhaps partly because of that expectation didn’t let the areas that still need improving spoil our holiday at all .

Stayed in a two bed family villa with a pool , which was centrally located and within easy reach of most of the island . Much to my children’s annoyance I declared us a walking family and we waved buggies by to walk off our over indulgence with the mostly superb food . We Constantly saw buggies driving around so slightly surprised by some of the other comments to the contrary .

Found the buffet options fresh , varied and tasty everyday , the al a carte options were also great but came with an anxiety of whether you would get a table , or your booking would have been correctly made which could be a pain if dining with hungry inpatient children .

We found all staff to be genuinely friendly and helpful if a little raw in their training .

My youngest daughter loved the kids club , and my son the football pitches .

First world problems / suggestion

More staff for restaurants , so food arrives together , drinks first , and you not searching for attention from waiting staff .

Clear plates quicker

Bit more decor / art to villas

Waiting time for tables maybe via an app , so you don’t travel to one restaurant to find an an hour plus table wait

Daily bulletins of what’s on offer , meditation and yoga for example i only discovered by phoning the spa.

Don’t charge for the glass bottoms kayaks or coconut drinks , it just seems a bit tight , how much extra revenue will you really generate over a year ?!

More info on the marine life

All in all the perfect balance for our family holiday , and good value for what is on offer . For those expecting to be waited on hand and foot all day without moving i would suggest finding a resort that will charge a lot more for the service you desire . For a mid tier 5 star resort I would say Siyam World is doing a great and improving job and we are thankful for the wonderful family holiday experience we had .

For those with nagging doubts about the all inclusive, 24 hour snacking availability and Mini bar restocking , relax and enjoy your holiday , you won’t go hungry , thirsty or disappointed by the offering .

Siyam World is a perfect resort for a family that would like to spend a tranquil, relaxing and chilling quality time with family. We were a family consisting of three kids and us the parents. We booked two rooms; one beach suite villa with direct access to the beach that has a crystal clear water and no single stone; the view was marvelous and the room was really spacious. The other room was an overwater villa with hilarious view as well that was equipped with a cool slide which brings you directly to the pool. We’ve been so many resorts in Maldives but never experienced such facility. The island is huge and and the management is really taking the extra mile in every single detail. There are always an activity going on on this resort that is for every age group from 2 years until 40. Beach parities aqua splash, DJ party at night; fire show, and belly dance.. also in terms of food wooow there are so much of varieties around 6 restaurants that cater to every individual need. Moreover, the spa was excellent and the two ladies Pasang and Dolma were great experienced therapists that rejuvenated our bodies! Also, Hajar our ambassador was very helpful and supportive to the extent that she gave us her WhatsApp and for any concern; she was more than willing to answer our queries. In addition, the cocktail party was really cool one and allowed us to get connected with key people such as the head chef who was very friendly. The all inclusive offer is really worth the value and you don’t need to think of additional expenses except for spa and some 5 star returners such as arigato and tepniyaki.
Thank you Siyam world for the amazing stay lovely staff and extraordinaire services provided!
You made 2022 summer vacation an exceptional one! Until we meet again

We came to visit quite early on from 1st November for 6 nights. From the beginning we were looked after by Charles .. he thoroughly went through the details of the resort what and where to go for certain things, very helpful and proficient in getting us to our villa and sorting out the cot. Charles looked after all our needs until the end including getting a high chair sorted for our baby and transporting it to the different restaurants each day! And sorting out the details of our sea plane and getting us there on time! Thank you Charles! You were amazing! You will always be remembered!

We loved our stay! We were upgraded to a lagoon villa with a slide which we loved! Better than the water villa we have stayed in the past. Very modern looking, great layout, lots of space perfect for families. Loved the pool and the slide! Had so much fun!

The food and restaurants were great and of good quality .. although we thought there could be more variety at the buffet. We also found Kurry leaf not as good as the other restaurants. Otherwise we generally enjoyed all the food and the staff were always helpful & professional.

The island Is beautiful, we love that it has lots of different pools to visit with great pristine beaches all over the island. The marine life was visible with lots of fish and reef sharks seen when snorkelling.
Nabu one of the buggy drivers was always very helpful and efficient with our pick ups and drop offs.

We also got to try out the inflatable water park, water boarding & went for a dolphin cruise! Which were all great fun! Again very helpful staff no complaints.

The only difficulty we had was waiting around for the domestic flight on arrival as we arrived earlier in the day at Male. We would recommend taking the sea plane as it seems less hassle and less waiting around. We took the sea plane on the way home and found it very efficient and organised.

Although lots of things are finishing off or opening up .. we still had a great time and loved our experience! The staff were always helpful and never said no to anything. Can’t wait to see the island finished soon and hopefully visit again in the future.
Thank you for a great stay! X

Thankyou to Mannu - The guest expierence manager for assigning Aiham as our as Ambassador for the duration of our trip.
Our expierence of Siyam World has been nothing short of luxury. The resort is world class, it is nothing like ive expierenced anywhere else in the world.
The service from all staff that we had the pleasure of meeting was friendly, welcoming and always greeted with a smile. (Bar, Cleaners, Carpentors, reception and Ambassadors).
We stayed in the Over Water Villa with pool and slide overlooking the Indian Ocean, this view is a must if you come here. The pool in our room is tested and cleaned so no sand is left in it after a trip to the beach.
Our amazing Ambassador Aiham has made our holiday as easy as we could possibly ever want. He made himself available day or night to accomadate us and anything we wanted or needed. He has even met us throughout the island to check in how.are day is going, and to see if we needed anything.
It has been the most relaxing holiday we have ever had, we have been looked after hand and foot.
Rooms are cleaned everyday, mini bar ,wine and guilty pleasures (sweets and chocs) restocked as used each day, the staff was so helpful when i asked could i change the red wines to white they done this free of charge.
There are many bars and restuarants open for lunch/dinner to suit all taste buds. And a buffet restaurant which we attended each morning for breakfast ( they even make you fresh omelettes on request).
The app for Siyam World was easy to use for booking/cancelling Lunch/Dinner and excursions, everything is at the touch of your fingertip. Or you can speak to your Ambassador who is always happy to do this all for you.
We stayed as WOW inclusive guests and all meals and drinks where included except a small few high imported foods/drinks. With the WOW inclusive there was so much to choose from and it was all amazing quality and taste. Especially for those like myself who enjoy premium drinks.
Toilets, pools, boardwalks and roads are all exceptionally clean. They even have a bus stop and buses that take you all around the island so no need to walk if your tired, your feet are sore or if it is a very hot day.
There is entertainment every evening at different bars/restuarants and also plenty of enterainment during the day at the watersports centre. If you are planning on visiting the Maldives this is the island we would recommend you choose. We are planning on coming back here for our anniversary with our son we have just loved the whole expierence at this resort.

Thankyou Siyam World for an amazing Honeymoon

Just returned from a 10 night stay at Siyam World, excellent but there are catches you need to be aware of, but onto the good bits first! the location, island and resort are all 5 star, this is the tropical island you dream about, white powdery sand, blue skies, palm trees and crystal clear water. Its a large island with hundreds of villas but never once did it ever feel overcrowded, even at full capacity throughout the half term school holidays. The amenities are great, the football each night on one of the 3 pitches topped it off for my little boy, all are welcome no matter the age or experience. Nihaal, what a guy makes everyone welcome and goes far beyond his duties to make you feel special, my son is still taking about him a week after our return! Food is great but not quite the best I've had at a 5 star resort, there is limited "kids" food on offer but this isn't really a bad thing I suppose, service at the restaurants is Ok. Snorkelling trip was amazing, the guys on the boats should be commended for their enthusiasm, they genuinely did want to give us the best experience, turtles, sharks, rays and myriad of fish made for a great trip. the villas are amazing, we had a very secluded ( no white bits) sunset beach villa, the plunge pool really tops them off, but the best bit for me was the outside shower, hot shower under the stars really has to be tried. i could go on one for hours but i do want to point out a few bad points we can across whilst there that i haven't read in any other review!
The restaurants are not really fully inclusive, if you want your child to enjoy a meal from the restaurant menu then you will have to pay for this!! We only found out whilst there, why pay so much money to visit somewhere to have you child eat from the usual kids menus, nuggets burgers etc! this is not right.
If you don't ask for premium spirits then you will get the usual bootleg moonshine! This also refers to the soft drinks, ask for cans or bottles or you will get a really poor alternative from the syphon!
The service around the pool area is lacking, I found it easier to walk up to the bar myself and order and wait for drinks, only after some heavy tipping did we get the attention around the pool!

First of all just like to say that this resort is incredible, ignore the previous reviews they had some initial teething issues on opening that have definitely been sorted and we’ve noticed that if anything isn’t fully correct just notify staff and they can’t do any more to help!

Me and my new wife booked this place as a honeymoon special, we got a brilliant deal and stayed in one of the over water sunset villas on Sydney Harbour Bridge!

On arrival at Male we were greeted by a hotel representative that was very helpful and guided us through the check in procedure for our sea plane transfer, we were shuttled by bus (quick 10 mins) to the sea plane terminal and guided into the resorts private waiting lounge which had drinks, food and restrooms which were much appreciated after many hours of travelling!

We took a 45min or so sea plane which was incredible! We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the unique perspective of all the islands!

Upon arrival to Siyam World we were greeted by our hotel ambassador Murrey, he explained all about the island and the facilities whilst welcoming us with a glass of cava! We were then taken direct to our room and shown all the accommodation. The great thing is we swapped WhatsApp numbers with Murrey and he was available throughout the stay to answer any questions and help sort any issues if needed! Murrey was brilliant and a real asset to the team!

We had a fantastic stay, all the restaurants are brilliant, we even got a table booked at the Japanese Arigato place organised by Murrey for our honeymoon which was truly incredible!

Weirdly an unexpected member of staff kind of made our trip, we had a villa cleaner called Raja! We met him on the evening of our first day, he introduced himself and asked if he could come in to turndown our room for the evening, having only just arrived we politely declined but he was very polite and asked if we needed anything at all to just ask!

The next morning Raja came to clean our villa, he is honestly the most polite, most kind and attentive person we’ve had assisting us whilst being on a holiday. He has gone above and beyond what I would expect are his duties and nothing is too much hassle! Raja is a real asset to the Siyam World team and made our honeymoon that extra bit special with just how kind he was! Thank you Raja!

My wife and I spent 7 nights at the resort and we had a really nice time however this must be measured against some significant flaws which we will come to in due course.

Firstly the good bits.

1. Staff members are extremely friendly and helpful.
2. The entertainment on most nights was good and came with some good variety
3. Food quality was good
4. Beaches were good with lovely soft sand on most of them
5. Lots of facilities
6. Jerry our Villa rep was very helpful and organised a lovely special evening beach dinner which I would recommend (if a bit pricey.)
7. Cocktail reception was good

The not so good bits

1. This is a brand new resort and the build quality is extremely poor, tiles are already falling off in the pools which could become a safety issue in the coming months. The choice of materials is cheap and the quality of the installation especially in the water villa that we stayed in was appalling.
2. Whilst the team members were lovely we felt that there were too few, and example was that at meal times you would have to seat yourself at the buffet restaurant and wait for a while to be asked for any drinks that you required, similarly at the Al A Carte restaurant more often than not the service between courses was slow.
3. The service ethos that is a key ingredient in the beauty that is the Maldives seemed to be lacking and this seems to be driven by a lack of direction from supervisors etc, on one evening the two star Michelin star chef was having to arrange tables in the restaurant to clear the delay in getting diners seated.
4. Shop and spa treatments are overly expensive.

Summary

If this is your first trip to the Maldives you may not pick up on the bad points noted above but the returning traveller will notice the difference in service and quality of the rooms. This resort feels like it is an attempt to deliver the Maldives to the mass market which is shown in the service and the build quality but not reflected in the cost you pay. You can find better resorts/islands at the same price and receive a far better holiday experience.

The Wow package is the all inclusive package, you’d definitely want it if you’re staying on the island. I’d highly recommend it.

hey, the reef is directly from the beach, only recommended for experienced swimmers, as it is quite far away. But for everyone else, it is almost enough if the big toe is in the water to see fish. And sometimes small sharks! ;-) There are small places in the water everywhere where there are lots of fish.

I would say a mixture as the island is huge and there are 2 adults only pools. There is so much to do and as little to do if you want to just chill all day. There’s lots of wildlife and marine life too. Also free snorkel trips and dolphins too see too. We’ve been twice and would defo go again!x
