We were so glad we chose the Raddisson Blu for our honeymoon. From start to finish, we had an amazing experience. No doubt Maldives is beautiful and with the hotel being brand new, it made it even more great! Azmy was lovely and gave us a tour of the resort when we landed. The overwater villa we stayed at was very spacious and clean, with stunning sea views and we were also welcomed to a beautifully decorated bed, and bath tub. There was a great choice of food to select from, with different options everyday! We were also treated to some amazing Indian food by Chef Arvind, which we really enjoyed. All the staff and the resort were very helpful and kind. The staff at the restaurant were very attentive, refilling our drinks quickly and always asking if we needed anything else! Our rooms were cleaned thoroughly everyday and the buggy service was prompt. The staff at the diving centre were very professional and took great care of us. We did a number of water sports and received a 30 minute free snorkelling lesson before we went into the sea. We were also lucky to have seen incredible views of dolphins whilst jet skiing. We enjoyed a relaxing deep tissue massage towards the end of our trip. As part of our honeymoon package, we also received a celebration cake and couples photo-shoot. Overall, I would definitely recommend this resort if you are coming to Maldives! You will not be disappointed!!

We finally got the courage to travel during the whole Covid situation and so booked a last minute trip for 4 nights to the Maldives. The We stayed in one of the 3 bedroom overwater villas and I can’t talk enough about how immaculate the place was, the master bedroom and bathroom alone was the size of most villas. You should be aware however that unlike in other places I’ve stayed, you can’t really swim from your overwater villas as the current is extremely strong (the staff themselves advised us not to) but the villa pool was big and the resort pool is beautiful. From that beach you can snorkel safely too.

The resort has only been open for 3 weeks so everything in the property is naturally still brand new. Considering they opened their doors for the first time just a few weeks back you would naturally forgive a few faults here and there but honestly other than the food (which I felt was a bit simple and bland at times) they whole place ran very smoothly. One of the real highlights are the staff, so friendly and all went out of their way to make our stay truly memorable..especially Ismail!! Again the place is new so the vegetation hasn’t had time grow (not a deal breaker by any means) but in a year or two this place with be a luscious green as well.

Definitely somewhere I’m looking forward to coming back to already, the whole family truly enjoyed every moment.

Dear MohammedHI, Thank you for posting the wonderful review of your experience with us. I am pleased to read that overall you had an enjoyable stay and that the team looked after you so well. I am sorry to learn that the food was not to the quality that you expected and we will certainly be addressing this with the team. The resort's vegetation has grown really quick and we would love to show you how much it has changed on your next stay. Thank you again and looking forward to meeting you in the near future. We went on short notice for one week to get away from the pandemic for a while, and this was the perfect place. The villas are spacious and very comfortable; everything works perfectly. They are laid out in an intelligent pattern so that the deck is completely private. Best of all, there are absolutely no mosquitoes or even other bugs, so you can truly enjoy the outdoor space any time of the day and night! Due to the layout you do have to walk a bit to get to the other facilities, but we actually enjoyed having a bit of exercise.
Due to the pandemic there were limited dining options but we still enjoyed the pool restaurant (Eats & Beats) very much. The breakfast buffet could have been open a bit longer in the morning. We didn't understand why the Japanese restaurant only serves a single, overpriced and not very Japanese menu, and thus ends up with no customers most of the time.
Snorkeling right from the villa was great: lots of fish or all colours and sizes! It is sometimes a bit wavy and there are some currents, so for children the beach, which is calmer and shallower, may be more suitable.
Overall, we were very happy with our vacation and are looking forward to coming back again in the future.

Dear ProfNo, It is a joy to read that you find the resort is the perfect place for your getaway. Thank you for highlighting the spacious and comfortable villa, the privacy, and the enjoyable outdoor space. Regards dining options, we provide breakfast in two dining outlets, guests can enjoy lunch in three different restaurants and bars, and dinner are served in four to five venue options. I appreciate your feedback about the menu of Japanese restaurant, rest assured that the chef and the team is preparing authentic cuisine. I am glad that you enjoyed the snorkeling time with the colorful fish around the resort. The area in front of the beach is indeed the recommended area for all of our guests including children. It was a pleasure having you with us and we all hope that it's not too long before we have the opportunity to welcome you back to paradise. Sunny regards, Zafer Agacan General Manager

Ok guys, I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and I found the hotel not worth it for the following reason:

1) your traveling to Maldives for the beautiful view, they gave us a room with a wall of rocks, had to follow up until they change the room. It toke 24hr of complaining to get this done. So if you decide to go make sure you get a confirmation on your view! We stayed at the over the ocean villa with pool.

2) calling for baggy from the room it toke them 30-45min to come pick us up and some times they never did! Other resorts which we stayed at max 10mins!!!

3) we purchased the full board option, waste of money they had one menu for both half board and full board and the food was the same everyday. Small menu! I should add that the prices are crazy high for the other menus but all the good food are on the paying menus. Don’t forget your paying premium so considering that it’s not worth it!!!

4) in room dining and drinks. We ordered bottles to our room it would take 45-1hr to come! And look it was super expensive so your paying high price and they are giving you very poor service. You have to consistently follow up to make sure they deliver the drinks etc to your room.

5) room cleaning, they don’t clean your room very well, they don’t refill the glasses, you consistently have to follow up to get service! You have to call for them to clean your room and you have to request for coffee cups or glasses to be replaced…

6) no tooth brush or shaving cream in the room you have to call them to bring you and they might forget as they did with us then u have to follow up to receive. Once you receive they don’t send new ones so you have to again follow up etc basically lots of follow up is required.
7) we had to check out at 1pm and our flight out of the resort was at 3-3:30pm, we went for lunch at the buffet 2 ppl 155 usd, they even charge you if your full board or not! Other resorts I been too not like this … it’s just silly!

We spent about 7,500 usd on the rooms and then spent another 5k usd on food (restaurants) drinks at the hotel and we were full board. I don’t mind spending that money as long as I receive the right service but here you will not receive this service.

I been to Maldives several times and been to different resorts, and I was attracted to this hotel for the nice reviews written however, I would say for the money you are going to pay it’s not worth it and you can find much better hotels. I see a lot of review that the ppl working there are nice etc which is true very good ppl but very poor management.

Highs :

Upon arrival, Joy assisted us to settle in and our stay went well. Rooms are spacious and views are stunning.
Faarish, Ninni, and Naaif were incredibly helpful at Raha and created a beautiful atmosphere for all of our breakfasts and dinners. Incredible food at Raha!
Adventure snorkeling is a must! I was snorkeling for the first time, and Morgan taught me and made me feel very comfortable with snorkeling in the middle of the ocean.
Ahmad was a fantastic photographer for our photo shoot - great photos!
My moms birthday, parents anniversary and sister graduation was celebrated in a special manner by the staff.

Lows:

Buggy service is minimal/slow. Waiting for hours on end. Understaffed. Cleaning of rooms were done very late into the evening even when asked to have the room cleaned earlier. They are not accommodating in this regard. Reception is unhelpful when requests are being made and it is not delivered upon timeously. No live entertainment, or any evening entertainment apart from a games room. Can get a bit boring with an extended stay.

Silvia D wrote a review Mar 2022
It was the first time for us to visit the Maldives and we had a wonderful experience overall! we were met at Male airport and guided the whole way to the resort with a very smooth check-in process and we felt very welcomed. The island is a dream with white sand beaches and amazingly blue waters that are breathtaking. We were really happy with our private villa, spacious, very clean, and we had an amazing honeymoon decoration on the bed and also a warm bath full of bubbles and rose petals waiting for us as we just got in. The view from the villa was incredibly beautiful and the private pool was such a luxurious addition to just jump in to relax any time you want in your own privacy. All staff were very friendly and were offering help with buggy even without asking if they would see us walking...Also a super gym! We loved the little gym facilities with really nice equipment and available all the time and easy to access. We also had a complimentary wine and sweets in the middle of your stay which was a very nice surprise and we really appreciate it. If you really want a holiday for total relaxation, clear you mind from busy life and distractions, we really recommend it! I would like to mention also the food. The breakfast was had a big variety of foods which we enjoyed, but the quality of the food we didn't find to be really good quality for the prices the resort have. We have ordered some smoothies at Eats and Bits restaurant that was mostly ice and the taste was really average. For a so luxurious resort, we expected to have nicely decorated smoothies with real fresh fruits and food that you will never forget the taste and pleasure. We also had a milkshake that the glass was full of ice instead of ice cream in a basic glass that didn't look at all attractive and the taste was mostly like water. The base of the pizza was really dry and the taste was not fresh at all. I don't want to go through each food we eat for all holiday but overall we were quite disappointed with the food. We think the resort needs a lot of improvement on the food quality so the visitors get the right quality for the money they are charged. And last thing was that on the check-out day, we left very early and we missed the breakfast. We have asked the lady at the reception if we could have dinner the night before instead of breakfast as we will not be able to have it and the lady told us that they will arrange breakfast for us at the check-out lounge. That was a disappointment as in the morning no one was there and only not long before we had to leave, a member of staff brought some muffins and pastry, and there were some apples that are complimentary for all guests checking in or out anyway. The breakfast is EUR70 per person, and not accepting to swap it for a dinner we didn't find it a nice ejesture considering to what they offer for early breakfast. So if your departure flight is very early make sure you don't buy breakfast for that morning. However we didn't let this affect our holiday and got the best energy from the sun, peaceful quiet beaches and the amazing villa that charged our batteries...

Stayed in the resort for 5 nights. Service is amazing! Everyone in the staff is soo sweet. By the end of the stay, the Islam felt like family. We did so many water activities the Ocean staff is incredibly sweet and very helpful. They’re very fun to talk to and helpful when needing instructions. The spa is very relaxing the ladies were very sweet and accommodating to our sunburns. They even surprised me with “Happy Birthday” written in flowers which was a beautiful sight. The yoga instructor was very nice and teaches you well and is patient with you. The staff at the restaurants were very sweet to us, giving us great tables, delicious breakfast by great chefs. The intern in Eats and Beats was very great to us! She was very sweet, remembered our drinks, and surprised us for my birthday and loved her and her energy!

Falah, cleaned our rooms everyday. He was very patient with us. He always asked what time we preferred to have our rooms clean, he wrote “happy birthday” in our room which was very sweet and put a heart shaped towel with flowers. He’s very detailed which we appreciated. He was also very sweet every morning and afternoon he’s greet us with a “good morning”, “good evening”, and a “how are you?”. The little things made our trip better.

Our Guest Service Agent, Asma was a light! She felt like family the second we spoke to her. She was very sweet, kind, and welcoming. She helped us all throughout our stay even on her off days. We appreciated the help and her answering our questions. She surprised me with many beautiful surprises from writing Happy Birthday on our bed, to receiving birthday cakes, a floating breakfast (can check that off my bucket list), a surprise dinner with a surprise cake with my favorite flavor (I don’t think she even knows that), so songs being played for me, and many more. We appreciated her help so much she made the trip even better for us than I ever expected so I want to thank her for that and being our mini vacation “home away from home”. Even though the goodbye was bittersweet, the memories she created for us will stay with us forever.

Our stay at this Radisson Blu Maldives was amazing. Room was clean and VERY big. Private pool was amazing and the resort is perfect and it looks even more beautiful than on pictures. We were on our baby moon and the resort is really romantic in many ways.
All the negative reviews regarding about no room service and buggy that was late has been changed and they have listened to the feedback as we got room service automatically and buggy was fast. In general I must say that the feedback has been taking seriously and they try to do it even better for the guests and I really liked that! Only thing I will say is that the food prices are very high and that goes for a la carte and full board. It should be a bit cheaper as I really think it's unfair to charge those prices to guests. Check out was also a bit bad as we waited for several hours and it could be nice if they offered us a sandwich to go or similar as you will be hungry before arriving to the airport. It's however minor things and overall it's must visit place in Maldives.

I also want to give a personal thanks to some people working at the resort.
Tom and Max that cleaned our room was absolutely amazing! They were so nice and the service from their side was out of this world. Radisson is lucky to have those two employees. They help us everyday and made so many surprises (souvenir, baby moon decoration on our bed, fruit etc).

Alejandra that was our host was also amazing and so helpful. She was so sweet and made sure that me and my pregnant wife felt safe and always had priority on the buggy. She really took good care of us and even wrote me a message to hear if we arrive safe back from our stay.

Putu and Chinchukka from the Raha restaurant made our visit at the breakfast and dinner amazing. Always there to help and if we had any wishes to the food they came with it. Absolutely amazing staff members that made our stay even more unforgettable.

We will definitely recommend this hotel and it's a no brainer not to visit it as it's amazing and will give you memories for life.

We spent our honeymoon in this wonderful hotel we were 9 days. Starting with the wonderful reception at the airport Male, one has the impression to be in good hands, although our luggage were lost, the staff at the airport have taken care of us so great, very dear greetings go at this point to Maryam Nazeeha, who has worked so hard for our suitcases be delivered,as soon as possible.(it arrived after 3 days in our villa in the hotel). After a short flight with the seaplane we arrived in paradise, we had previously had e-mail contact with reception regarding our room requests, which were met to the last detail. We had villa 504 with a fantastic view of the Indian Ocean, the staff at Radisson Blu is more than accommodating, at this point I would like to mention in particular our driver Rifath, our housekeeper Rasheed were always trying to make our stay perfect. Culinary we were spoiled in all restaurants but we were very often in Eats and Beats because there is a very large selection of dishes and the staff always trying. In Alifan we also ate a few times and the food was fantastic, we were personally greeted by chef Mr. Chinthaka Gunathilhaka, and culinary spoiled. In sum the stay was fantastic and we would always recommend it again and we look forward to coming here in the next few years and feel at home.

Watervillas are amazing, both in terms of layout and landscape. The room boy was friendly and customer oriented. I read another comment suggesting the author’s room boy was better than the front staff and should be moved to customer facing activities. In reality, I think that the management assigns the best staff to room support roles on purpose, to maximize the “in room” esperience, which is the best asset of the resort.
Back to basic: what I found it was missing was the possibility to stay on a sunbed on the beach and then swim from time to time, which I could do in any Italian location at the seaside. Based on my experience, there is only one beach where you can swim (so called “Crusoe’s”), with just a dozen of sunbeds, which are clearly always occupied. On top of that, there is no active management of such a scarce asset, i.e. If you are so lucky to find a free sunbed (never happened to me), you can stay there all day long. And if you go leaving your towels there, nobody will remove them. So looking for a sunbed is a real treasure hunt.
There are two alternatives: 1) swim around your watervilla: nice, but the sea there is 1.4m deep at best; 2) go to the swimming pool: it is big and well positioned, but still a swimming pool. Easier to find a free sunbed there though.
Food is average. Sometimes quite good, sometimes less.
Conciergerie. There is one dedicated person per client. I would suggest to replace him/her with a chatbot, probably equally helpful and less expensive (I am ready to change such opinion in case the dress that was taken by mistake from my villa is found and sent it back to me).
Sports / experiences. Did not try any, since the bulk of them was in the morning, which is against my biorhythm on holiday. Headlines looked the usual ones though.
How to get there. I was supposed to get to the island by seaplane. When arrived in Male I was informed that for contingent issues the seaplane was replaced by an internal flight + boat. I suspect this was an excuse since afterwards I realized the same happened to other clients in the past, which suggests it is more part of the business model.

I am not sure about the currents in March but they were pretty strong in December and we were advised against swimming off our deck. We had sunset villa 304 and it was only about a 3 minute walk to the beach where you can snorkel. You can walk around the entire island perimeter in less than 45 minutes so even though the map makes it look big, it really isn’t too bad at all.
