One of the most beautiful parts of the Calabrian coast, Tropea town and the Capo Vaticano area treasure the natural beauty, history and most attractive holiday resorts - those where man followed the natural landscape and where hotels and villages are hidden among generous Mediterranean vegetation. Placed literally on the beach, underneath Capo Vaticano, the village is only 30 metres from the seashore. Well developed amid trees and coastal slopes, Eden seems to be the natural part of this most exciting Calabrian coastal spot.

Absolutely the Eden!
Peace, relax, good food and excellent services.
Nothing else needed for the perfect family holiday.
We have also to mention that the sea is stunning, one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy.
Highly recommended 👌

This is a lovely resort for local italian families with young children. This is not a resort for international tourists—there are many better options that provide more value for your money. The beach is beautiful, but many staff members are less than friendly, and the atmosphere feels more like an Italian summer camp. If you do not have a car you will be very bored in the evenings.

The hotelroom was dark, noisy, the bed was terrible. The restaurant is ok, at breakfast there is not a big selection, the baked goods were more times dried. The pizza and the alacart is good. Prices are high.
The beach is nice, water is clear and warm. Staff is not like the italian hospitality, sometimes rude or bored.
To reach the hotel and then go for trips you need a car. There are huge level differences in this area.

+1
We stayed at Eden Village second half of October.
The idea of the Villagio itself is good, as they have hotel, separated apartments the same area, detached apartments a bit higher on the hill, restaurant joined to the bar and all of it located close to the sea. To get there you need to go several curls down from the main road on the plato. It is isolated place - to get to other restaurants, hotels or shops it takes min 10 min drive by car up the hill.We used the car, but we saw people walking arond, without children.Tropea is 8 km, but it took about 15-20 minutes to get to the center.
May be in summer, when the sun starts shining earlier, it is more convenient - just go to the sea early. We were up early in the morning, jugging by the seashore - and then were to wait couple of hours until sand becomes drier and air will warm up.
There was nothing to do in there, so we took the car and usualy spent mornings in Tropea or surrounding villages, walking and taking morning capucchino.
The beach Grotichelle itself is really good, clear water, grottoes, nice views.
Eden Villagio has chairs with umbrellas - 2 per room for free, additional euro 5/day.Kayaks are also for free.
As for the service and premises itself - those are not of declared 3 star quality. The staff is mostly young people, looking when together, like solving their own problems. It was complete unexpectedness, that the young lady was rude to us, showing disregard in the bar, throwing my credit card with grudge.
We understand that tourism in this rural area just started to develop, and service is not perfect even in Rome, but no value for money in this case.
The room was moist all the time, and spots of mould were smelling in sleeping room. The mould started to damage even the wood on the bed. Moreover, it looked like everything was falling apart - toilet sink was not working at all, window nets were torn and broken - so the moskitos were eating the child completely;bed was broken. The kitchenware was minimum, with only one big meat knife:)).
Breakfast at the restaurant was not bad compared to the standard italian - yoghurt, bread, jams, fresh croissants, pudding, coffee, tea - a la buffet. But my husband likes some meat pand cheese products, so we gave it up.
We ate first evening at the restaurant also, but the food was drastic.I ordered beloved mozarella with tomatoes (which could not be spoiled:))and the tomatoes were really green and bitter!Pasta with seafood was hard ( beleive me, more hard than you can find in Italy),Grilled fish was dry because not fresh. And the prices are higher than you have in best Tropea restaurants.
To make a conclusion, if you going to enjoy just sea and sun, do not care accomodation, meals and service - this is the good:))place. But if you use a car, I would suggest to stay somewhere even further and come to Grotichelle (if you like it so much) just for swimming. To say the truth, Grotichelle is more ad than it is itself. I saw even at Vibo coast very beautiful beaches, which are not worse.I am sure, Grotichelle had much more charm without Eden and Quatro Scogli Villagios constructions.
I personnaly was missing night walks by narrow village (like Tropea, for example)streets, sittings at open air terraces (though I do not like loud night life).
We used apartment and were cooking from time to time.To get food we were to think were to find it, because there are several supermarkets around, but only 1 at the walk distance. As we were travelling intensively, were to think about buying food somewhere by our way.
In most places food was very good, fresh.
My personal feeling is that it is better to stay at Tropea and use surrounding beaches if you need more nature, or use rural accomodation even.
Calabria itself interesting, versatile and you may travel from place to place looking for new emotions and fun.People are very friendly - always help even if they do not know English. It was great experience and fun when someone was helping us to show the road or explain what to do - we spoke English, they Italian, and when I was saying "Si" they thought that I understand completely and started to talk more and faster.
Have a good time in Calabria and enjoy the country and people!

Delightful setting directly on beautiful bay. Stayed in UK half -term week , and had the resort almost to ourselves - indeed the pool was generally empty so no need to book the sunbeds early! No other Brits, it is an essentially Italian holiday area but staff helpful with enough English to guide us even if the menu translation is a little vague in places! Superior hotel rooms are good - views of the sea and a shaded balcony from 308. Ideal break for a bit of gentle site-seeing driving on very quiet roads this early in the season. Possible disadvantage -the pool is a few hundred meters up a very steep slope so either use your car or the hotel electric buggy shuttle - on demand. Evening stroll requires you to drive up the hill towards Cabo Vaticano but then you weither choose a hotel on the hills or the coast in this region.
If arriving in dark by car bring a good map, the right turn off the SS18 is easy to miss.

Hi the resort was perfect with a lovely apartment. The restaurant was good food and great value for money. But the main attraction is the beach and sea which has to be seen as so beautiful. But a big big thanks to Stefania and the reception staff who went out of their way to help me over a stressful situation regarding a car rental company and a front wheel coming off our car. Thanks so much Brian and Anna

Overall I need to say that we had a great vacation, but there are many opportunities that could improve the experience.
Pro´s:
Food (4/5): Overall food in the restaurant is pretty good, prices are fair.
Animation (5/5): Great team of animators, not exaggerated, funny and as well taking care of children (Mini Club)
Village/Beach/Pool (4/5): Nice Village, directly at the beach. Beach is small but cosy with clean water. Nice pool, located at the upper village, need to take the shuttle from the lower village part.
Con`s:
Check-in/Reception (2/5): Unfriendly. You would expect to feel welcome, which was not the case. Asking for help/doing a request left a feeling of being "too demanding".
Attention: Hotel Bus shuttle to the airport is not a free service but comes with costs of 200 EUR (back and forth), hence watchout when requesting as part of the booking.
Very late Check in 17h/very early check out at 10h.
W-LAN (2/5): pretty bad connection
Appartment & Equipment (3/5): Appartment clean and comfortable, but very basic kitchen equipment, e.g. no kitchen towel, nothing to hold hot pot at the gas oven, no garbage bags, a set of 4 counted cutlery, 2 person cooking pan only etc.
On top costs: sun lounger not included in price, need to rent separately, sun towels need to rent separately, "late" check-out need to pay extra.
Working on the "negative" aspects could make the Eden a "true Heaven on Earth".

Very nice clean hotel, very old washer and dryer available and no help with luggage into the room which was two stories of stairs. Restaurant was wonderful and very accommodating. Beautiful beach. ask for a bottom floor when staying at the hotel.
