Hotel's Favourite
This place excels in all categories. Excellent location, beautiful, spacious rooms and bathrooms - sparsely but nicely furnished with beautiful windows to let in plenty of natural light and to boast beautiful views. No fridges in rooms, but the staff let us keep perishables in a fridge at the front desk.
Speaking of staff, the hotel is good on its own, but there are two employees who are the reason we'll be staying at Storm Hotel next time we're in Reykjavik: Rafal and Dagmara. They went above and beyond in customer service. Friendly but professional and extremely helpful. We'll also be telling our friends to stay at Storm because of these individuals, who make this good place to stay into a great place to stay.

As soon as we arrived at Storm we were greeted with a smile, the reception and bar staff were all very polite and friendly. The rooms are on the smaller side, but they had everything we needed, the bed was very comfy and the shower was powerful. The hotel is in a great location (right opposite bus stop #12 for any tours) and a short walking distance to restaurants and the main street. Breakfast time was quite busy, but there was always somewhere to sit and the food was plentiful for a cold buffet. I highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to stay again if I returned to Iceland ☺️

Fantastic hotel! We stayed for a week in early November & we found the hotel to be the perfect location for our city break, less than 10 mins walk from main shopping area. It's opposite bus stop 12 (this will make sense when you start booking tours) and the best part of our day was watching the tourists from nearby hotels congregate each morning to try and find their respective tour buses.
The rooms were a good size with a kettle & hairdryer and they were toasty warm (perfect for warming up after long days outside) with plenty of space to dry off any wet clothes. The breakfast buffet was great, plenty of choice with hot and cold offerings and something to suit everyone's tastes.
The thing that made this one of the best city stays we've had, was the staff. They were so helpful and friendly, in particular Klaudia and Rafal on reception, who were available for questions & help with phone calls to tour operators (thanks guys!!) Even the staff at breakfast were lovely and were constantly replenishing the breakfast dishes or tidying up tables.
We would definitely recommend this hotel, and if we ever get back to Reykjavík, this will be the place to stay. Thanks to all of the staff at STORM!

This hotel is in a great location an easy 15 min walk to the centre of the city. Plenty of buses within a 5 min walk should you need them to explore further. Main Iceland tour buses pickup directly opposite the hotel. Hotel is clean, modern and staff are friendly. When we return to Reykjavik we will use the Storm Hotel again without hesitation.

+1
We stayed in Storm Hotel for just 1 night the very first day we arrived to Iceland - hoping we will arrive from the overnight flight and walk to all of the places near by since the location is just perfect for exploring Reyjkavik! :)

The hotel is nice and clean, the rooms not huge but very efficient - the noise levels were fine, especially when we closed the windows (we had the room facing the very front of the street where many buses pick up people for touring etc.).

Morning breakfast very pleasant and the team did really good job making sure everything is there - team effort it was :) this is a popular hotel and it showed both at the breakfast and the lobby with people always checking in and out.

There is a nice patio where you can sit outside but also plenty of seats/couches etc. inside the lobby area, very cozy and nice looking place.

TIP: the parking lot is pretty small and the entrance to it pretty narrow, drive slowly and carefully

Storm Hotel is a solid choice for a night in Reykjavik, with some pros and cons.

The pros: It's a short walk from the hotel to the shoreline, there's a convenient bus stop for those who don't have a car, and the included breakfast was pretty awesome. Rooms are spacious with nice amenities, including a hot water kettle, tea and coffee. The bathroom is fairly large with a very pleasant rain fall shower and a towel warmer. The concierge was pleasant and everyone was very polite, which is always very appreciated.

The con: Be aware that although there is free parking, the parking located in the back of the hotel is fairly small, with only about 10 spots, which is certainly not going to be enough for every visitor. If you miss your chance to park, street parking is available (free on Sundays and overnight, otherwise available for a fee which can be paid on the Parka app). This was a little frustrating because the parking was one of the very specific reasons I chose this hotel over others, and I wound up having to park on the street anyway. I will say, however, that the front desk was very helpful in providing me with those parking options when I inquired after realizing their lot was full.

If you're planning to be on the road before 9 AM or if you don't have a car, then this is probably a fantastic choice to stay in Reykjavik. Otherwise, I still think this is a good hotel, so long as you're cognizant of the limitations.

This hotel was a choice in our Great Value Vacation package. We booked with reservations, but were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is clean and modern with a helpful staff. The location was ideal for catching transportation: A Gray Line pickup was just outside. There was easy transportation for tours and the Fly Bus.
Breakfast was awesome, with a hearty selection for everyone. We especially appreciated the small lounge and coffee bar. It was a good place to gather with the other women in our group. It was a welcome calm from the cold of beautiful Reykjavik.

We enjoyed 4 nights at Storm Hotel on a recent visit to Reykjavik. The hotel is in a quiet location within an easy walk of the city centre, it was warm & there was ample hot water from the excellent shower. The breakfast was very good, self service with items replenished frequently & friendly attentive staff who cleared plates promptly.
The only small criticism would be the lack of storage space in our room - very small hanging area & no drawers but we managed ok.
Bus stop 12 is directly outside for trips which was very handy.
I’d definitely recommend this place.

Storm Hotel was a great place to stay in an ideal location for walking to the City Centre, the Harbour and all bars and restaurants. It is also situated directly opposite Bust Stop 12 which was so convenient for excursion pick ups.
The breakfast was excellent with a quality buffet and lots of choice. The hotel even provided coffee and croissants when we had a very early departure time.
The room we were allocated was very spacious (it was a disabled room which we didn't request but it was particularly large for access purposes). Very warm and clean and robes and slippers were also available. Storage was an issue as there was a tiny space for hanging garments and absolutely no cupboard/shelves or drawers. This meant we lived out of our suitcase for 4 days and nights and this was very inconvenient and messy- however we coped. I believe more coat hooks on the walls/behind the doors would help this situation even if extra furniture was not practical.
Our activities were cancelled on our last full day due to a storm warning which was particularly severe. The staff were great with recommendations for 'safe' activities which we took advantage of so we didn't have a wasted day.
I would certainly stay here again...but be warned Reykjavik is the most expensive place I have visited!!

Upside: Hotel is super clean. Included breakfast is really good and hearty. There's a "happy hour" with full bar/lounge - great. Hotel style is fresh, minimal, bright and on point. There is a transportation stop immediately outside the front of hotel. Downside: 1) While the location is only a 5 minutes walk to Laugavegar St. and Hlemmur Square, it's really just on the far border of what would qualify as reaching City Center. And if you want to be right in the thick of it as a tourist, this is not it. And during winter the weather made foot travel even more unattractive. Not alot of quaintness or charm in immediate vicinity. And a taxi ride will run you easily $50 round trip most anywhere close by. 2) The staff at the front is a bit aloof. 3) The rooms continue with a bright, clean minimal style but are super tiny. This is a room to sleep in and leave only. I think some of my observations can be written off because I'm from the USA and in the states everything is big and with a smile. I would recommend this hotel to the right travelers.

I traveled with a friend so we had two twins. Room was small. I would ask the property directly, but I kind of think a third bed would not be an option given the size of the room.
