NH Boat Lagoon Phuket Resort is commended for its convenient location and exceptional cleanliness, with many travelers appreciating the well-kept rooms and grounds. The hotel offers spacious rooms and a praised pool area, although some guests suggest the need for improvements in amenities. Opinions on value and service vary, with experiences of both cost-effectiveness and disorganization reported. While the rooms are modern and comfortable, the evening atmosphere and entertainment options, especially for children, may lack vibrancy.

Resort is 40-50 mins drive from the Phuket airport. Not really near any beaches (30 min drive to the closest one) or town (20 min drive). Restaurants available around the lagoon area. Local road side restaurants on the main road. Boat arcade supermarket 5 mins walk from the resort front desk. Nice swimming pool, with kids playing area, and pool valleyball net available. Polite staffs. Good coffee at lighthouse cafe.

Initially, we have booked a premier delux room with lagoon view. We arrived the resort entrance saying "this looks nice". But we checked in and realised we were not staying at the hotel wing. We were led to the marina/ lagoon side, which looked a lot like a retirement village. The room was large, nice view looking at the yachts. But the room was so neglected, and definitely needed some cleaning and re-furnishing done. Long story short, we had a long drive, we stayed the first night, and we would get a room change the next morning.

Obviously, we didn't get a good night sleep. We approached the front desk, complaint about that room and wanted a room change. This was the first time I ever complaint about hotel room. Initially, the staffs wanted us the price difference, in the end offering a room at hotel wing, facing the pool with no extra cost. We checked out the room condition before accepting it. The difference was heaven and hell . Just want to thank front desk staffs for making room change available. This made the end of our trip on a high note.

Just want to mention, although pool regulations said that no lifeguard on duty. But if pool attendant/staff sees young kids wander into pool without adult, staffs should intervene. One morning during breakfast hours, 3 kids walked into the pool , the oldest kid maybe only 7 yr old. The played at the kids area for 15-20 min unattended. The mother popped up from one of the rooms on 1st floor. The son decided jumped into deeper water. Lucky he didn't submerge straight away and managed to yell at his mother for help. Mother saved own son. Nobody would have noticed the kid was drowning if mom wasn't there.

We were here for three nights during a trip around Phuket:

LOCATION: perfect location if you want to be out of the hustle and bustle of Patong & Co. but still want to do activities and not to travel long distances. The hotel is straight out of a main road/highway, so easy to access too. We were very happy with our choice as from there we then went to Phuket Elephant Sanctuary, JB island and Old Phuket Town. In comparison with tother people we met along these tours we were definitely in the best spot to reach all these places with ease.

SERVICE: we need to remember this is not a Four Seasons or similar, hence I give them 4 stars (instead of 3 if I were in one of those lux hotels), so: basic service and ok English. Make sure if you want something over the phone to talk to someone who speaks and understand English. Following the national custom, even if they don't understand, they will pretend to and say yes to everything.

FOOD: I think this is the major issue. The breakfast choice is poor to say the least and the quality of the food needs to be improved.

TO SUM UP: great location to go and visiting/doing tours without being in the middle of the noise you'll find in other areas. Would recommend to stay no more than 3 days.

Overall it was a nice stay at NH Boat Lagoon. I was there with my family (two kids, 5 and 7yrs) for 6 nights. The pool area is nice and the family suite rooms are really spacious and comfortable. The staff are friendly.

The marina is nice but very quiet. There’s a supermarket in the marina with lots of choices including western options. You can get a taxi to the old town for 400 TBH (if you order yourself not via the hotel) and it’s a great day trip or evening out. I’d recommend the Green elephant sanctuary and they collect you from the hotel for a day trip included in the cost.

Some suggestions for the hotel would be that there is very little entertainment or atmosphere especially in the evenings. Some organised activities for kids, live music etc would go a long way and would probably keep more guests in the resort meaning more money for the hotel. The kids club is not manned by staff so there’s no option to leave children for an hour or so. I think if they did table/ lounger service by the pool they would sell way more drinks, overall service is quite slow. Food was not great but we ate off the resort mostly.

I’d recommend if you are looking for a very quiet stay in a nice hotel, but not if you are looking to have things nearby or access to beaches.

We booked this vacation in January and we came on March 11 and we wanted to stay until March 15. When we got into the lobby at approximately 5 o’clock on Wednesday I noticed that there was nobody inside I understand the coronavirus is around. I look to my right and I noticed the swimming pool When I entered the hotel the swimming pool was not in use it was out of commission which was a very big part why I booked this hotel. When I was talking to the front The staff that night it was very difficult because they did not speak English very well at all. I asked him to find my reservations that I had confirmation on my phone. They could not find my reservation at all and they told me I can stay for two nights only. The third night they would have to move me to another room which I declined. The following day someone called me in the middle of the night to tell me that they canceled my reservation but I can stay as long as I wanted which we stayed for five days. At first they were going to charge us for breakfast but with my previous reservation the breakfast was included and they solve our problem. The Internet in the room was very very bad all five days. I found out that the front desk does not have Internet so that is why they did not receive my first reservations for five days. Each morning I had to be shuttled over to the other pool which was about five minutes away and bring my own towels from the first hotel. At the pool the service was unbelievable bad no one ever came up to us and asked us if we want to drink or anything the staff was lazy and did not once in five days come around and asked us if we want to drink or something to eat. When I was leaving that pool I had to call the other hotel to pick me up as the person behind the bar the gentleman handed me the telephone and I told me to speak to the other hotel to pick me up.How lazy can you be. All day the only thing they do is sit around the bar on a chair and watch TV and listen to music I like that job too. I ordered a taxi to go down to Phuket city they charge me $700 Phuket dollars and on the way back I paid 600 Phuket dollars. Why does the hotel have to make 100 bucks which is equal to about five dollars for doing nothing when the hotel is at 20% full. Well this is my third time in Phuket and my second time staying in this resort which would be my last time I will be staying here. I understand the coronavirus has taken a toll but we still paid full price for our room and we expect same service each and every day. I hope you read my comments and take it for iwhat it’s worth and I hope when this coronavirus is done we all can enjoy this hotel better than I did. Mike Shapiro from Canada

Stayed here two nights on the way to a friend’s wedding (not usually somewhere we would go) and much as we love Thailand and the people here, it’s obviously not a great place to work!

The usually smiling, friendly Thai were nowhere to be found.

Took forever to check in, waited 20 minutes and there was no one else checking in with the two of us!

We had online booking done and all passports etc ready, then once we eventually got in we had to wait again for one member of staff to find the bus to take us to our room.

Even with it so quiet thanks to the CORONAVIRUS, it was close to 45 minutes before we got our room.

Rooms were old and the Internet was terrible - patchy and kept dropping out. The bed was as hard as a rock.

Tidy and clean is the best I can report.

Breakfast in the Captains Room was dreadful. A small selection of fruit, and a buffet that looked really bad - I tried the curry chicken and it was tough and stringy.

Luckily we could order fresh fried eggs and cooked some toast. We tried the scrambled...don’t!

Only choice black tea or coffee (green tea would cost more) and staff, although trying to be friendly, simply seemed bored and unhappy to be there.

Then the school kids arrived!

Yep, you heard it right, bus loads of kids arrived for “English camp” so now the hotel is full of noisy children.

If you were expecting a quiet resort, this is not it.

I heard from other guests that the pool (which is huge) was due to be closed...thankfully we weren’t staying there long.

It really is a good setting, if you need to stay on this side of Phuket, and overlooking the marina is nice, but it could be so much better.

New management required I think, it really wasn’t pleasant and I feel sorry for the staff.

Boat Lagoon is the perfect way to start your trip to Thailand. Sandbox Quarantine at Boat Lagoon has been well thought out - rooms are spacious, stylish, immaculately clean with everything you could need. The swimming pool is the best hotel pool I have swum in as it is large and caters easily for all ages and abilities. If you need the confidence to begin travelling again, Boat Lagoon is where you start.

We stayed with NH Boat Lagoon Resort at Phuket as it is an affiliate of the Karma Royal club Goa, India.
It was a " love at first sight " kind of experience! The hotel complex which is huge is located on the Lagoon with a main building housing the NH hotel reception with many apartments and villas scattered around the banks of the Lagoon. Check was Swift and transfer to our allotted apartment was smooth.
Our apartment which was very large one complete with a lounge, open balcony, kitchen area and dining room with two large bed rooms. There were two well appointed baths and each room and the lounge had their own TV .
The breakfast/ good was excellent and the data very courteous.
The numerous sightseeing places are not far away and one could visit Island like phi phi and Crabbe in a day trip.
The hygiene and cleanliness in the resort was of high standard and sayad very responsive and attentive to the needs of the guests. The battery driven carts are always just a call away and one could request drop to the nearby convenience store, Bank and dinners /hotels in the huge Lagoon premises. One could even request a drop to the shipping masks in the Phuket city and later they would even bring you back to the resort . This was infact a very convenient and essential guest service which the resort provided with a smile.
The bathrooms were well appointed and with needed toiletries towels etc and bedrooms were kept very clean with fresh sheets every day. However, there were mosquitos as there is Lagoon and greenery around - something we felt was beyond the control of the resort.
One could go around the Lagoon to see various big and small boats, yachts scattered but systematically parked around the Lagoon and jetty. One could hire a boat or yacht for trips to islands near by . Kobe could even purchase a boat or a yacht as the Lagoon has many companies specialized in selling and repairs. The Lagoon add to the overall already very nice experience of the NH hotel premises which appears to be a sought after resort by locals as well as overseas guests.
The experience was one of luxurious stay, great food, courteous service of high standard. We are sure to return

I don't care about the rest. They should not play with food. Why serve pork when I ordered beef? I googled "Thai beef salad" and wow your beef is the same as the one I have in my country! Even my local friends agreed that it's pork when they saw a video of this food. And messed up order as well. I ordered "Non-spicy beef salad" and I was served a dish with a ton of chopped red chilis. They fixed it by removing the chili pieces. Astonishing. Yes, I complained but it didn't help at all. Don't let them fool you. There are better places to eat in the area.

And they have rooms with no view at all. I didn't need a view but just so you know.

The resort and Boat Lagoon area was well contained and had all the basic facilities you might want given the location is 20mins drive from Old Town, on the other side of the peninsula and does not have a beach that's walking distance. Rooms lacked humidity control so we experienced some moisture and mould issues. Some friends also asked to be moved to another room or the staff tried to resolve the issues. Food at the restaurant is average, gym basic (eg. no heavy weights for barbell), and beds are a bit stiff, which might be usual for Thai locals but not really for visitors who aren't used to it. Most of the staff were very polite and friendly, offering good service.
