The hotel was very well located - walkable from central station, close to many attractions and in an attractive area of Amsterdam by the canals and grand houses.
Staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful with a welcome drink and bottle of hand sanitiser for my daughter and I on arrival. Our twin room was bigger than expected after reading some reviews with decent space for bag storage, desk. wardrobe, lots of shelving and a large window. There was also a fridge and TV with English channels and a fan that was very welcome as the room was quite stuffy in the summer heat. The windows could be opened but there was a fair bit of street noise at night. The en-suite was small but the shower was hot and powerful. Pillows and mattress were rather soft for my preference.
Due to Covid restrictions, the included breakfast could only be taken in the bedroom so we were asked to call reception when we wanted the fresh breads to be delivered. The breakfast was limited to cheese, jam and croissant/bread but guess that in normal times their breakfast offer would be a bit broader.
We felt that the hotel gave very good value for money especially given the location.

Nadia Hotel's location is convenient due to it being in the center of the city and next to a tram station. They have a variety of rooms with a road side or garden view. The room is clean and consists of everything you need for a comfortable stay, such as a private bathroom, soap, tea, instant coffee, kettle, desk, safe, small fridge, TV, etc. Even under Covid restrictions, they provide a suitable breakfast in the morning (breads, cheese, jams, cream cheese, butter, orange juice). Staff is helpful and provide a great service. If I go back to Amsterdam, I will stay here again.

Good location and very fair standard for price. It is cheaper in respect of other hotels around but I would say overall it exceeds expectations for what you pay.

I say this because the staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are cleaned thoroughly plus the fridges are topped up with juice for the morning breakfasts with the covid situation.

I had a 4 night stay in a double room with balcony situated to the front of the building overlooking the road and was very satisfied.

Thank you to all at the hotel including Osman the Manager.

What makes this hotel so good to stay at is the staff. We booked via a booking website and were allocated twin beds instead of a double. Our request for a quiet room was not noted on our booking. This was no problem whatsoever. We received a double room away from the main road outside.
The stairs are indeed very, very steep. If you have any trouble walking whatsoever this hotel is not for you.
The room we had was small, but it was clean and certainly had character. Some would say it was tired. Breakfast options were limited at cheese, rolls, jams and various bread & croissants, however it did the job.
Breakfast on Sunday starts from 08:00, but we had to leave at 08:00. I asked if I could quickly take a few croissants before the breakfast room opened, this also was no problem.
Overall our experience was very good.
The location is very close to Anne Franks house, trams to most locations are nearby. You could do far, far worse than staying here.
Thank you to all the staff at the hotel for your hospitality.

On Dec 24 I went to AMS for holiday, the location of the hotel is close to the city center, you don't need to use the tram or bus, just walking can bring you to the walking street nearby and the station.

For room: cozy and clean, I booked a room with a balcony, you can just sit there enjoy the view of the street. There is a beautiful chandelier in the room with colorful glass. This place is also very safe, the tenant can come into the hotel by manual verification for 24 hours, and you can always get help from the reception desk.

They have warm service! nice breakfast, and everything you need you can ask the reception. one thing I appreciate is I was on my period that day, I got some bloodstains on the sheet and even the mattress, they helped me change the sheet and mattress without charging me more, I was moved by this charity on Christmas eve! I would like to say thank you again!

I stayed here in mid-September and absolutely loved it. Their website warns of the steep stairs to reception, but someone helped with my suitcase and by the time I checked in it was waiting for me in my room. The staff were all lovely and helpful throughout. My room was small, but perfectly formed - reminded me of a ship's cabin, which seemed appropriate for a city with a naval and mercantile tradition - and I found it very comfortable, with good WiFi reception too. Breakfast options were good, and I enjoyed sitting over my coffee and rolls with a view of the Westerkerk (it has loud chimes though, so earplugs recommended, even if you're at the back of the building). The location is fantastic, very central, walkable from the main station, though there are trams too.

I cannot praise Hotel Nadia enough, from the booking process to the final moment, they were top notch. I messaged in advance asking if flowers could be in the room on arrival as it was an early birthday trip for my girlfriend, and the hotel went out of their way to do this for me. Room was extremely clean, bed was mega comfy, view from the window (with a very kind free upgrade) fantastic. Breakfast was in the room because of covid restrictions, with bread and warm croissants delivered on request every morning. Oh and the best shower I have had in any hotel I have stayed in across Europe!

Great location, a short walk from Dam Square and right next to Anne Frank House and Westerkerk. Plenty of food places nearby, along with supermarkets and souvenir shops.

A very special thanks to Magda for her help throughout our stay, we both agree that if we come back to Amsterdam this will be where we stay.

PS.. the steps are not as bad they look and the hotel will safely store your luggage if you arrive early or fly out late after check in.

Recommended for travelers like us who want a hotel in a central location with breakfast included at a reasonable price.

It is a very kitschy, “vintage” hotel and you should take heed of their warnings regarding the stairs… No elevator, so definitely avoid if you have mobility issues.

We stayed in a room with a double bed and balcony. Room is small, bathroom is smaller and so if you plan to spend much time in your room during the trip (which we did not), then this hotel is not for you. Sidenote: If you are a larger/heavier person, then the bathroom will be difficult to manage. We are both slender and it was a tight squeeze. Water pressure was good and plenty hot.

You can walk to the center of Amsterdam, museums, and many tourist sites in 20-30 min. There is also a tram stop across the street.

Staff is very friendly and helpful!

The location was perfect and allowed us to pop back during the day whenever we needed to.
The staff were excellent. They were very friendly and helpful.
The tap water was drinkable and there was always hot water.
The TV channels were very good and allowed us to watch the Olympics when we popped home for a break.
The complimentary bottle of water on leaving was a very nice touch. The hotel held our luggage in storage for as long as we needed.
Magda was extremely helpful and very accommodating of all our needs. Thank you.

The Nadia Hotel is a great value hotel with lovely staff in a great location. My daughter and I stayed here for 5 nights. We started in a twin room (308) but asked to move because of the noise from the street; trams, cars, emergency vehicles, which the hotel kindly accommodated. The new room (7) overlooked the canal and had recently been refurbished and felt like a very different experience but what we didn’t realise until we stayed the night was where it lacked traffic noise it gained in the volume of the church bells from Westerkerk. These chime very 15 mins 24 hours a day with the volume being loudest on the o’clock. My advice to anyone booking a room is to book a room at the back of the building and forgo the balcony and canal views if like me you are not a heavy sleeper. I also advise those looking for a 5 star hotel to do exactly that. The Nadia is not 5 star and nor does it pretend to be. It’s a great budget hotel that is clean and feels safe. As for the stairs, yes they are steep, but that’s all part of the experience of staying in a traditional building. All the buildings of this age have similar stair cases. A ruck sack is much easier to get up and down them than a suitcase.

I'm not sure of Bookingcom's policy, but if you book directly with the hotel and pay cash on arrival, there is no fee, and the room rate is cheaper.

No, so beware lots of steep steps. Hotel Nadia is located above shops so there are at least three flights of stairs if you have a room on the top floor.,
