The Hyatt Regency Amsterdam enjoys high marks for its cleanliness, with guests often noting pristine conditions throughout the hotel. Its spacious, well-appointed rooms complement the tranquil atmosphere, adorned with botanical and Asian-inspired decor that invites relaxation. Conveniently situated for public transport and attractions, yet peacefully removed from the bustle, it offers a serene retreat. While service is commendable, marked by friendliness and helpfulness, some guests have experienced inconsistencies. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency for a city trip to Amsterdam. Luckily, in winter prices are affordable and we had a really nice time. The check-in was smooth, the hotel lobby is a impressive lush green room and the entire hotel is themed to match the proximity to the botanical garden. The room was nice, on the fifth floor with a large panoramic window. The shower we liked in particular, perfect in size and function (we do love a rainfall shower). Bed was great, firm mattress and comfy linens.
The breakfast is too expensive even for a hotel - there’s many cheaper good options around the hotel, but the hotel’s Indonesian restaurant is totally worth a visit for dinner. Such great food and great friendly service. The bar staff is chatty, knowledgeable and mix great drinks.
In fairness to other hotels we visited we can only give this 4 stars but it’s as close to five as it can get.

We stayed only for 1 night in a regency club suite with adjacent double bedroom and with a guaranteed check in at no later than 3 pm we felt safe to book a museum before dinner.
That went wrong.., a number of times we were told that it would be ready in 15 minutes.. eventually it was ready at 5 pm (and still only the suite) and we skipped the museum visit
However the dutch girl at the second floor regency club was excellent in her service.
Afterwards we got a call from the assistant manager again with apologies and i must say that they took it seriously and dealt with it in a professional matter and to our satisfaction that not all 5-star city hotels do. Well done!
I do think that the free taxi drive into the city will be charged to the hotel to the full by the taxi company while the driver dropped us off half way!! Due to busy streets he said but it was not that busy.., always something like this with regular taxis
Thats why Amsterdam is the only city in which i use uber drivers.
Good value for money, the minor cons: we missed some dutch items at breakfast and the living room of the suite couldn’t be lit well enough
Good roomservice as well
Will definitely visit again

We were a little nervous about traveling again during COVID-19, but we felt reassured by the measures the Hyatt Regency was advertising to protect their guests. I can confirm that everything was done with an eye on safety, without sacrificing any comfort. Among other things, the breakfast buffet is now served by chefs and staff, fully masked of course. Distancing is firmly observed, and all the elevators and other common areas have hand sanitizers inside. My only complaint is the knives in the restaurant: they're duller than a professor of semiotics! I could barely saw through my bread. Otherwise, everything was great. This was our third stay at this hotel, and they just keep getting better! A special salute to all of the staff, who made us feel like any request was their pleasure to fulfill.

As a Globalist they upgraded our room. We were not able to get a suite, but the hotel was sold out so we were not expecting one when we checked in. The room we did have was very nice and clean. The staff is very friendly and super helpful. This hotels downside is food service. We had complimentary breakfast and the first day we had to wait for a table and then once we did have a table it took a while to get coffee and eggs. The other days we didn't have to wait for a table but it did take a while to get coffee and eggs. The lounge is currently closed due to COVID but they did offer free soft drinks throughout the day and at night an alcoholic beverage. They also offered a small snack which took a very long time each night. One night it took 45 minutes for the food to arrive.
The hotels location is perfect. It is a short walk from both the subway and the tram. There is a grocery store across the street and if you wanted you could walk to all of the major tourist activities.
They are not doing house keeping each day due to COVID, however if you ask for it, they will clean the room, you just need to call in the morning and they are usually at the room within 5 minutes of calling.
They gym is open and pretty good sized with lots of equipment.
Face masks are not required throughout the hotel unless you are in an area where you can't social distance. They do want you to wear them when getting food at breakfast.

Staff (especially Aprilla) were very helpful and went out of their way to make our stay very nice. Despite COVID and a curfew, we enjoyed ourselves. Small things like real dishes and silverware for our food delivery from outside of the hotel were a great touch. Another nice surprise was the birthday cake and card that Aprilla gave to me.

I stayed here in June 2021 for six nights for work. Thanks to the Euro 2020 event, the hotel was hosting some sports teams, not that you would notice because things were well organized, the teams went in and out a separate entrance, I never once heard tiniest bit of noise from the hall or floors above or below me. The rooms are nice and the gym is excellent. The location is great as well, in a very quiet neighborhood.

What set this hotel apart for me is the exceptional service. Within a day of arrival I was being called by name, but nearly everyone. I also have some dietary restrictions and the hotel chef came out to see me and made arrangements to customize my breakfasts and some of my dinners when I knew I was going to be eating at the hotel. After getting this information, the hotel chef really delivered - not just to my dietary specifications but really good food as well.

Internet performance was very good as well, something that is increasingly important sa we all have to do more and more video calls. The rooms have nice desk space as well.

Normally, I'd have at least one suggestion for improvement on a hotel review like this, but in this case, I can't really think of one.

I had a small accident prior to my arrival at the hotel and from the first moment on arrival until the last moment after checkout I was treated with all possible attention and care, from ice packs sent repeatedly to my room to the availability of a wheelchair to help with mobility.
I never got to have breakfast at the hotel but at both the Indonesian restaurant Mama Makan to the bar, attention as well to detail made the experience outstanding.
I understand that current hygiene restrictions make normal operating difficult but despite the odds, you functioned in an exemplary fashion. Congratulations!

I had a wonderful stay at Hyatt Regency Amsterdam during 6th to 8th Jan, 2023. Thanks to the entire team for the great hospitality.

First, Aprilla Muid at the Regency Club made me feel right at home by offering my preferred room type. Her kindness and smiles are amazing!

Special accolades go out to Francesco Fanizzi who worked tirelessly and diligently to ensure all guests were well taken care of. He seemed to always know what I needed even before I spoke, whether it’s a glass of wine or removing an empty plate…service-level perfection! The Hyatt Regency Amsterdam employs professionals like Francesco who has mastered his craft to the highest standard of service excellence! He spoke so well and always lifted my mood a little higher with his radiant smiles, thoughtful words and kind attention. Francesco, heartfelt thanks for making my stay so memorable. Your warm demeanor exemplifies the highest level of comfort for the guests!

April and Francesco were so attentive and left nothing to chance, demonstrating the guest experience is paramount. My greatest appreciation to both of you for stiving to be the best!!

What sets Hyatt Regency apart from many of the other luxury tier hotels in Amsterdam is its staff. I will sure recommend to family and friends.

I look forward to returning in May to experience another amazing stay! Until then, take care, everyone!

I can’t imagine staying anyplace else in Amsterdam after our stay there last week. Yes, it’s not precisely in the high traffic tourist areas but close by. However that’s an advantage. Even on the first floor the room was quiet because it’s in a calm quiet neighborhood.

The staff were all authentically friendly and helpful. We had a small business meeting there and our requests were completely and cheerfully complied with. The front desk team were equally accommodating.

The room was stylish and comfortable. The food, drink and service in the executive lounge were up to five star European standards and expectations. All in all an amazing value.

The staff was very friendly and respectful, the room was clean and comfortable. This was a business trip where I was on quarantine so spent most of my time in the hotel room, and the staff went out of their way to make my stay comfortable, even offering other items for room service not on the menu, being flexible on room service hours, etc. Great experience and would recommend to anyone.

I don’t think there are any balconies; there was no balcony in my room. Yes, I think the window opens but since temps were cool, we did not need to open it. The hotel was in great shape and very clean and the building appeared to be fairly new. I have no idea of its exact age. Breakfast was a buffet and they also offered a la carte; our buffet breakfast was included in the room price; don't know if they charged for a la carte. Breakfast was in the main dining room. Lots of choice. I don’t know about a parking lot.
