My husband and I visited Mr. Jordaan for three nights at the end of February 2020 and stayed in a twin room on the second floor. We are in our late 20s/early 30s and are slightly picky travelers (big fans of a quiet, clean room, comfortable bed, and excellent location for walking places for a fair price). Mr. Jordaan exceeded all of our expectations and then some!

Everyone at reception was incredibly kind and helpful. We were greeted each time we entered and left the building and were offered excellent food recommendations. The room was quaint, but very clean and organized. It was perfect for two travelers. The lobby had a coffee machine that was free to use (in addition to a kettle and tea/coffee in the room), as well as breakfast for a small price. We had zero noise issues or safety concerns during our stay.

Location wise, this hotel is more than perfect. You're right on one of the canals and just far away from the extra touristy spots. We were able to walk across the whole city and had no issues. Everything about this place was very picturesque and pleasant. We will certainly stay here again when we return to Amsterdam and have already recommended it to our friends.

Thank you for a wonderful, memorable stay!

17min walk from Centrum station.
10 min walk to Amsterdam square.
Hotel staff extremely helpful and friendly.
Hotel has a very comfortable feel. It’s very clean and vibrant.
Complimentary tea and coffee plus lovely lemon and mint water you can fill your glasses and bottles up with, which is great.
There is a lift in the hotel but it is very slow.

If you are used to having reasonable space in your hotel room I recommend booking the standard double. The view isn’t great but didn’t bother us much, the room itself made up for it. If you want a nicer view, get the standard double with a canal view however, that is a lot more pricier.
Rooms are very nice and clean. The bed is perfect in size and very comfortable!
A good size TV however, HDMI input isn’t available unfortunately (Channels like BBC, ITV, E4, Comedy Central and Veronica for films will get you through).
Rooms do not have irons. You can only iron your clothes downstairs lobby upon request (Don’t worry the iron is of a good standard and the lobby is very quiet so ironing a load of clothes is stress free).

Breakfast is cold (warm pastries, ham, cheese etc.) if you want a hot breakfast there are many places around (I recommend going to a lovely place called Greenwoods Singel an 8min walk).

If you prefer not to get train from the airport to your hotel as there will be a little walk from the station to the hotel. It cost us 16.50€ with a promo code using the Bolt app and without the code it was 20€ which is very reasonable.
We are used to staying in nice hotels and this is one of them. Trust me!

We really loved this hotel, in a very attractive old canal house. The staff were super friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble . The house is stylish and done in industrial chic style, the room was lovely, smart and cosy. The location in Jordaan is great, right on a small canal, surrounded by interesting shops, houses and great architecture. Only minutes from the main attractions and 12 minutes walk into the centre with the Palace and main sites. We also liked the kitchen / dining room for breakfast and socialising and where the complimentary hot drinks are available.

This was our second stay at Mr Jordaan and again it was fabulous. Upon arrival we were welcomed with a room upgrade as it was my husbands birthday which was a lovely surprise.
The rooms are small but cosy and the whole hotel has a quirky atmosphere which we loved as it made our stay feel very in keeping with the Dutch way of life.
The Anne Frank house is very close by and we enjoyed the 10/15 minute walk into town. Very good location.
We didn’t book breakfast but really enjoyed Kessens, a really good cafe, which was recommended by the hotel and was only a short stroll away.
The leaving package was also a nice touch and finished off our three night stay on a high note. We will definitely be returning soon.

Mr Jordaan is situated in the most beautiful location, you feel fully immersed in Amsterdam life as soon as you arrive. The reception area made for a pleasant welcome, with refreshments available and secure luggage storage. We were shown to our room and to our surprise had been upgraded which was a wonderful gesture. The attic room in which we stayed was perfect, natural light from every angle, and working air con which was very needed in the hot weather. The views of the canal were gorgeous. We were given reusable water bottles which we would fill with the complimentary ice cold infused water every time we headed out. Although we didn’t have breakfast in the hotel, within a short walk you can find plenty of cafes/delis, we would choose somewhere new every day and sit along the canal to enjoy. A 5 minute walk away and you can find a small convenience store, Albert’s which offered really good quality deli selection if you wanted a quick snack. Anne Franks house is also located roughly 5 mins walk away. If you want to head any further the transport links around the hotel are very good and easy to use. There is so much to do in the city centre, Ripleys believe it or not, boat trips, Heineken experience plus many more. We also loved the free ferry across to the Adam lookout tower where there were several activities to take part in as well as the eye museum next door. Coming back to the hotel was always lovely and there were many board games available to play in the seating area downstairs, as well as a free coffee machine & cold drinks which we had complimentary on arrival but you can also purchase more. On departure we were given goody bags which was a lovely touch, we honestly didn’t want to leave and are always looking to see when we will be able to come back soon!

Wonderful boutique hotel in the heart of Jordaan, a quieter neighborhood with many excellent restaurants, cafes and bars. The hotel is a few minute walk from the Westerkerk, Anne Frank Museum and a couple of tram lines. We found it very easy to get from the Amsterdam Centraal station to the hotel via the tram. It's also a short walk to other tram lines that take you to the heart of the museum district. If you don't want to take the tram it is also a 10-15 minute walk to Dam Square. Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, offering suggestions for food, drink and attractions. There's a nice lounge on the lower level where breakfast is served and that has self-service beverage machines. If you're looking for a smaller, quiet but convenient hotel in a beautiful neighborhood, we'd recommend this hotel.

Perfect location, very friendly service, fast check in, very helpful.
Space is an issue, some rooms are far too small, comfortable but tiny.
Breakfast offers a reasonable selection, all-day coffee was greatly appreciated.

I stayed here for three nights last month, and I am so glad that i chose Mr. Jordaan Hotel! My room was lovely (I stayed in the attic room). Best of all, this place is in a great location. It's right next to a lovely canal in the beautiful Jordaan district, a neighborhood that's within walking distance of major tourist sites like Dam Square yet far enough away from the busiest and noisiest parts of the city, and is so quiet and peaceful in the evening, so it's easy to get a good night's sleep. It's a five minute walk from Anne Frank House, there's plenty of restaurants nearby, and plus it's conveniently close to one of the tram lines.

The staff were friendly enough upon check-in and check-out. I left the "do not disturb" sign on my door during the day, and so the maid left a bag with fresh towels hanging on my door, which was appreciated.

There aren't many complaints I have, but one minor quibble would be the location of the mirror in the bathroom. This is the only hotel room I've ever seen where it's above the toilet instead of the sink, which made for some awkward tooth brushing and face shaving, but it wasn't too big of a deal for me personally.

All in all, I truly enjoyed my stay at this charming, lovely hotel, and I wouldn't hesitate to book another room here if I ever come back to Amsterdam!

I felt so welcomed at Mr. Jordaan! I arrived early for my reservation, and they stowed my luggage in a locked area (not always the case in small European hotels!) and also poured me a latte while I gathered my items for the rest of the day (and gave great dining recommendations!). The staff was more than pleasant throughout my visit. The rooms were extremely clean and well-kept, modern, and updated. The location is great, in a quiet area, but not far from great restaurants and bars, and a quick walk to many places you'd want to visit in Amsterdam. This hotel is big on small, meaningful details. They even give you a little goody bag when you check out. I would love to stay here again on my next visit to Amsterdam!

We come to the hotel every week.
We love to come because the co-workers are very friendly and helpful.
Every time we come it give us a feeling to come to our own home
the rooms are small but that is normal for Amsterdam. All the thinks you need are there.

The breakfast is good and not expensive with a continental breakfast with extra hot food.

You can have enough to drink the whole day

The hotel is not far from all the thinks you want to see in Amsterdam

Very slow, takes a full minute at least up four flights. Waited for it on occasion, but it never came. Wasn't able to use it once. And it's a teeny-tiny elevator.
