We booked a superior double room which was very spacious with a couch, armchair and walk in shower. A corner room on a main pedestrianised thoroughfare, we thought it would be noisy, but the windows were soundproof and we slept well. The service from the front desk staff was excellent. The room had a coffee machine but no kettle and some maintenance is needed for the WC flush. Breakfast was adequate although not a huge range. The location was excellent for eating out, shopping and a short 5 minute walk to the train station. It was a quiet, comfortable, relaxing stay for the end of our 5 week European trip. We found the people of Winterthur to be friendly and helpful. It is a great alternative to staying in Zurich as the train is direct to the airport in around 15 minutes.

Great location in the city center, might be a challenge with Parking.
Lovely rooms, well appointed, modern.
Breakfast was a highlight with super friendly and helpful service going out of their way to help

It feels like home. Attentive staff. The breakfast spread is simple and yet delicious. For someone who loves variety, I simply love the food so much that I ate there every day. Dinner items were good too. The train station is nearby. There are a number of food options that are great, such as Frisk Fisk, Da Me, National, etc

Being away a lot on business it is important to have a place where I can feel at home. This hotel is that place for me. Reception is welcoming with a warm greeting and a cup of tea. The rooms have always been very clean. There is a lot of detail in the room itself making it cosy. There is also a good desk to work on. Everyone is very friendly and helpful to make once stay special.

We stayed in a 4 person appartment in the attic. Had a nice little kitchen, two big beds. The staff couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating to our 2 young children, we had a nice quiet place to come back and sleep after adventures around the town.

Stayed for 3 nights on a business trip. Pleasantly surprised, good hotel, good room, good shower, good restaurant and friendly staff. They answered all my questions immediately before arrival. Location is 5 min walk from the train station. 15-20min train to Zurich airport. Lots of restaurants nearby in lively Winterthur. Above my expectation for a 3 star hotel. Note there is reception during the evenings

This was the most perfect location in which to stay in Winterthur. We were there for the music festival in late August and wanted to be able to walk to the concert and this hotel fit the bill. Clean and modern with some history too, this hotel had a wonderful breakfast with made to order coffee and fresh bread, meats and cheeses, fruit and yogurt. I would stay here again definitely.

The Hotel Krone in Winterthur has an excellent restaurant, called Pearl. The food is outstanding and the service of the personnel very friendly and professionel. We had dinner and really enjoyed the high quality and specialities we've got there. Staying in Winterthur I can warmly recommend this restaurant for outstanding food.

My wife and I traveled to Winterthur to see a circus performance and were pleased the town had nice shops and some fine eateries, too!
We found the room at Sorrell Krone perfectly clean and with all the amenities in good working order. The location was a bit too close to the bell tower for us, but it was centrally located. With open windows, the proximity of the church bells that ring every hour can be difficult if you're a light sleeper!
Even though we Americans typically like softer bedding than most Europeans, we found the beds at Sorrell Krone to be wonderful!

We have stayed in the Krone on several visits and enjoyed its position and service. However we found this time that its German owners' austerity drive was having a negative effect. Certain areas were looking worn, and trained Swiss staff were being replaced by untrained Asian immigrants. We have sympathy for the latter but Nelly training was obviously inadequate. When we sadly passed this on to the manager, he was not in disagreement but told us of the constraints. It is still a convenient hotel but we cannot rate it as very good.
