Detailed Reviews
We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of a trip and it's a convenient location with well-appointed rooms. Slightly odd entrance where you descend the stairs to the concierge and I wouldn't have thought that would bother me, but I did find it strange. Service at the front desk was good but elsewhere somewhat patchy but that could have been due to the end of the tourist season and staff being "over it". As noted before, it's a walkable distance from the main train station which is good for onward travel. I like the surrounding areas with some pretty authentic roman businesses in the side streets. You can walk [if you are fit and up to it] most of the major sites of Rome, but there is a subway station nearby which is nicely located. Everything worked well in the rooms after a slight hiccup with the door card and the overall style is quite plush. Breakfast was ok but not exceptional. Overall, is a good place to stay.

Fantastic hotel, really helpful and friendly staff. Nice and conveniently situated for visiting the main attractions and tourist sight of Rome. The rooms are spacious and well maintained, in good decorative order too. Covid safe rules are well publicised and hand sanitisation station's strategically placed around the hotel.
The reception staff are eager to make your stay and experience in Rome as hassle free as possible. This is my second time of staying at this hotel and when I next visit Rome I would not hesitate to stay here again. Definitely 5☆

We visited in October 2022 and the entire stay was fantastic. The room was lovely and clean, the beds were comfy, there was a TV and clean bathroom also. Toiletries, as well as hair dryer, were included.
Breakfast was included with our stay and the food was lovely. Fresh food included vegetables, fruits, pastries, cheeses and more. There is also a rooftop bar which we used and enjoyed.
I cannot express how kind all of the staff were. Truly lovely and friendly people. Every staff member we saw treated us with kindness and respect.
Our stay was truly magical, and we are very grateful and thankful we got to stay with Hotel Columbia.

First I liked to thank the front desk staff who was very friendly and helpful. The location was also good, everything is within 15 to 20 minutes walking. However, there are quite a lot of hotels in this same area.
We paid Cdn 930 for 3 nights plus €36.00 city tax (€6 pp per night) only to get a tiny room with 2 single beds and hardly any room to walk. There was nothing else, and I mean nothing: no coffee, tea, no coffee maker, no kettle, no water. Only a tiny refrigerator at the size of an ice box. When I asked to borrow a kettle, I was told the rental fee is € 2.50 a day! The beds and pillows were so soft you couldn’t feel anything. The strange thing was that the shower curtain was a mix of plastic panels and large towels. When we showered, everything got wet. The towels never got dry or changed. It left a very unhealthy dampness during the whole stay.

My husband and I stayed for one week at the Hotel Columbia Rome and had a great stay. The staff makes you feel welcome and at home and gave us great tips for restaurants in the area and places of interest. Central location close to the train station and many tourist attractions. The rooms are nice and quiet and the breakfast at the roof top terrace was also very good. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Rome!

Well positioned hotel for trains, metro and tourist buses. Also some good restaurants nearby. Very clean room and comfortable bed. Breakfast included was a pleasant surprise and adequate choice. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Ensuite ok but narrow bath makes showering difficult if you have big feet.
Beware the biscuits in the room, they are NOT free, we were charged €10 for 3 small packets. Apparently now considered as part of the ‘minibar’ prices even though on the tray with (still free) tea and coffee.

We stayed in Columbia hotel for a period of 3 nights. The staff working in the hotel are very polite and looked after us so well. We enjoyed our time throughout the visit, especially our evenings on the terrace upstairs. The location is brilliant and 15/20 minutes walk away from most landmarks you would want to see. There are a lot of restaurants and bars on the same road (some good some not so good). Check reviews before you go in to eat. We will be definitely recommending this hotel to our friends and family.

Highly recommend for a stay in Rome! Booked ages ago online e, and all was better than expected. For Europe, our room was large (king plus a twin bed, easily room for 3). Large closet, bathtub with shower. Nice big and lots of towels. Firm bed, extra pillows. Breakfast included was wonderful on their rooftop terrace. Location is really close to Termini train station. For us, very walkable to ALL the sites we wanted. (Most sites on the hop on/off bus tour, for example, are within 3 km of this hotel.) Friendly, helpful service included storing our luggage on departure day, ordering a cab for a flat prepaid fee, and offers of a last coffee or washroom before we headed away.many thanks - we enjoyed our stay very much!

Absolutely amazing. Extremely easy walk from the termini train station and very friendly staff. Room was a perfect size and was very clean and had comfortable beds with great air conditioning! The included breakfast on the terrace always had an amazing selection and catered to gluten free guests. Also want to mention the extremely handy water fountain down the road for filling up bottles with drinking water. The hotel is perfectly placed in a safe area and not far from Rome attractions. It’s surrounded by plenty of restaurants and some supermarkets. Overall our stay has been absolutely amazing, would definitely come again !

The hotel is beautifully furnished with high ceilings and Murano chandeliers; the staff and service warm and friendly; this will be my hotel for all Rome visits. The terrazzo is a treat for the senses, the breakfast dining is a wonderful way to start the day. Any help needed to booking early morning taxis, making dining reservations, suggestions on where to shop, was always immediately provided. And when one of my party left their camera in a cab, the front desk staff got it returned to the hotel. Coming back to the hotel after a long day of sightseeing was like coming home.

I would personally email or call the hotel directly to inform them of your early arrival. They will try to have your room ready early, but it cannot be guaranteed based on availability of rooms. Check in is 3:00pm. At a minimum, the hotel told me I could store my luggage at the hotel before check-in.
The breakfast at Hotel Columbia is excellent. It is buffet style with plenty of options from fresh fruit, cereal, pastries, cheeses, deli meats, etc. Beverages are also included (coffee, orange juice, water, etc). Absolutely zero complaints with the breakfast and best of all, breakfast is served on top garden area of the hotel. You can sit outside to admire the view, or inside, whatever you prefer!
Hello. We caught the train from the airport. It goes direct from airport to termini station. The hotel is a 5 min walk from termini station. Very easy. You purchase tickets from the machine or desk in airport. I think it was €26 each. It was quick and easy 👍
Hi, Yes the hotel has a roof bar of sorts. Sells beer, wine etc but is not a traditional bar as you would find in other countries. There are many bars local to this hotel so it is ok for a night cap. Hope this helps. Rome is fantastic enjoy. Steve
