Ground-breaking. Daring. Dream-like. Fun. That's the ikonik Angli hotel in Barcelona city, the new hotel in the high part of Barcelona which, in its ambiance of the utmost comfort, peace and quiet, breaks the mould of classical hotel aesthetics. Beyond the concepts of design and innovation, the 4 stars hotel Barcelona Eurostars Angli is characterized by its exclusive tranquillity. Located in the highest part of the Sarria district, a particularly peaceful area on the slopes of the Tibidabo mountain, the hotel provides exquisite pleasures such as a relaxing pool set in the lawn, silhouetted on the skyline.

We wanted to test the Sarria area where this hotel is located. It is a very quiet and relaxing area. Bar Tomas - which has Barcelona's best "patata bravas" - is reason enough to visit this area.

The room price is reasonable and reflects that this is totally outside the city center. But it also has its advantages. It was a little dirty in the shower and it pulls down. The breakfast are simple, but also very cheap.

The net was good and the service invisible. If you get a good price, like quiet and quiet, this could be an option. But no more than the middle of the tree on all levels.

Fantastic and efficient check-in. The room was incredible, very spacious, clean & chic. The bed could fit 5 people! The room doors are rather strange. How are you meant to hang the “Do not disturb” sign without the door handle? Easy check out and the garage is excellent.

I stayed here for 5 nights and the room was very clean, pleasant and with air conditing, which was needed in his heat and humitidy. The beds were very comfortable and the room was quiet.
The whole area is beautiful, and the pool was never too busy. We had wonderful views of the top of Tibidabu from both our room and the pool.
The staff were so helpful and there were no issues communicating, despite my limited Spanish!
The glass at the front of the building could do with a clean, but honestly, that is the only thing I could say that was negative. My window in my room was very clear and clean! I would definitely come back again. There is easy access to both trains and busses and a coffee shop, convenience store and pharmacy just a couple of blocks away. The old town is beautiful and less than 5 minutes away.

I would come here again.

Stayed here with work last month and found the hotel to be quiet, comfortable and well placed in the area of Sarria with fairly easy metro access to central Barcelona.

The buffet Breakfast was good enough without being exceptional. There is an attractive courtyard pool too but I unfortunately didn’t get chance to use it.

The hotel is close to some very nice restaurants and coffee shops all within easy walking distance.

Good to see it open again. The staff were pleasant and helpful. My favourite room was apparently unavailable. Breakfast self service up to a point, nothing exceptional but did the job. Room was in good clean condition!
For us the location is superb, far away from tourist areas and close to good eating, good public transport into town.

This is a very nice design hotel located in a quiet area of Barcelona (Sarriá district). Although it is not in downtown, the closest metro station is reached with a 5-min walk.

The rooms are very clean and a gem of interior design. The staff was very kind, but one of the clerks gave us a wrong information about a nearby restaurant: my pregnant wife and I walked to it and it was closed...

If you don't like metro, a taxi to Plaza de Catalunya costs around 8-10 euros.

Very modern hotel. The room is as nice and hightech as you get in 5* hotels and is nicely decorated and clean. The barthroom area is separated by a see through glass wall, so while fine for couples may be a problem for some. There is a small swimming pool with a pleasant loan and deckchairs in a nice garden. Unfortunately the hotel is quite a bit of a walk to the underground station and there is nothing much around the hotel. Great place to stay if you get around by taxi but if you walk / use public transport I would suggest staying nearer to the city centre.

What a phenomonal holiday. I cannot WAIT to go back!!!!
The hotel was brilliant, not very busy when we were there mostly business people stopping for overnight stays so the poolside was not at all busy for the most part.
Only 4 sunloungers but it has grass so when we couldn't get a sun lounger we just put our towels on the ground and sunbathed.
BEAUTIFUL LOCATION!!!!!!very affluent area, the room we stayed in over looked 2 huge big villas which had gardeners and maids everyday.
the view from our room was just priceless i could have laid in bed all day and just watched the view. Our room looked out onto the big hills where the telecomunication tower is and also there is a big cathedral and some sort of theme park on the hills too because at night around 9 o'clock the cathedral lights up and the big wheel's lights go on,so amazing to just lay in bed while trying to get over to sleep and just watch all the pretty lights.
The corridors in the hotel were very fancy, the doors are kind of hidden in the walls and you get a card which you need to put into the door then you hear a click and it pushes inwards into the room.
The room itself was very modern and fancy. to operate the lights you have to put your room card into the wall of the door then the air conditioning and lights will be able to work. the air conditioning was quite tricky to work but you can adjust the temprature of it which is good.
The blinds at the windows were so cool!the buttons to operate the blinds are by you bedside( and also there are buttons at ur bedside to put all the lights off in the room so you don't need to get up to put off lights you've forgotten about!). there are two blinds- one that has holes in it so that when u have it down people outside can't see in but you can see out then the second blind that is a blackout. you can press a button that puts both down at the same time to save you time at night having to put both down seperately.
There is a roof terrace on top of the hotel (although me and my boyfriend who i went with weren't sure if the terrace was private for the one room that has a hot tub in the hotel but whenever we went up no one batted an eye lid). it had the most amazng views you can see for miles and miles i recomend you go up there if ur staying at the hotel!you can even see the sea if you stand at a certain bit!.
the room service was very good as well, no troubles ordering it or recieving it and the ingredients were always extremely fresh and tasted really good and healthy. breakfast was EXTREMELY expensive though i wouldn't reccomend it unless you don't have any other choice. there is a supermarket in sarria where we got cans of juice to take back to save us having to buy them from the minibar
The Metro station is barely 5 minutes away from the hotel and then is only about 7 minutes if that away from the centre of barcelona and the trains are very very frequent and are never late or delayed. the station is extremely hot though but when you get onto the metro it is air conditioned. we mostly went into the centre of barcelona for meals but there is a pizza hut about 10 mins away from the hotel room and they have no problem with u bringing food back to the hotel or even ordering something for you to be delivered from the hotel.
it has a laptop in the foyer that you can use whever you like and it has a really good fast internet connection. all the rooms come with free wifi if im not mistaken but don't take my work on it.
safes inside the room are in the wardrobe and is very easy to use but if (like us) you aren't sure how to first work it then if you just call the reception desk they are very helpful. any problems and most of the staff speak good english. there was the odd member of staff who wasn't very helpful and couldn't speak english very well but they were usually always on with another member of staff who could speak english.
This was me and my boyfriend's ( we're both 18) first holiday away outside of the uk and we were so happy with it. not at all scary or over whelming. I would deffinitly recomend this hotel for anyone who was thinking of staying in barcelona. the area we stayed in was called Sarria. Hope this helps

I took a chance on this hotel as I could not find a single review on the web.
I was not disappointed at all.
It reminded me much of the Hilton hotel at Paris la Defense in France: ultra modern style, minimalist, high tech [ centralized light control, flat screen, room key on a chip-card, free high speed internet in the rooms ].
I would definitely stay here again specially given the rate I paid this weekend: 95 Euros a night. This must have been a special as the rates jump up to 210 Euros on Monday.

Pros:
- Quiet neighborhood
- Unmarked hotel in a residential area
- Free parking on side streets: there is available underground parking at the hotel but costs 9 Euros a night
- Convenient to Metro station: 3 blocks away
- Good size room with queen size bed
- Great lighting in the room
- Large shower: rectangular shape
- Safe that can hold a 15" laptop easily
- Housekeeping that works on spanish working hours: no house keeping nazi crew pounding on your door at 7:30 AM!!!
- Very very friendly staff: we checked in and the internet did not work. They had the problem resolved immediately. They had us change rooms after checking the wiring, my laptop, etc. Good follow up. Little detail: they had a staff person send the new room key. Try that at a Marriott hotel in France: they'd have you check back in at reception without hesitation!
- Safe area: a coworker lives 700 meters from hotel and vouched for it

Cons:
- Quite a distance from the touristy spots: if you want to be within walking distance of tourist attractions or restaurants, you will be disappointed. However, everything is a train ride away.
- There does not seem to be a heating system in the room: amazingly this weekend was very cold in Barcelona. The A/C works VERY well. It is odd as it was super warm in the corridors
- Sound proofing in the rooms is dismal. You can hear people talking in the corridors easily.
- Housekeeping may show up at your room around 17:00 on a Sunday. They do not seem to be in any rush to get done early.
- No view whatsoever

N/A:
- We did not try the restaurant, swimming pool, or bar.

I stayed at 3 hotels in Barcelona. My rankings:

1. Grand Marina: the view, the location on the water, the quality of the rooms, the gym, the robocop housekeeping. The downside is the price: expensive rooms, expensive on-site dining, expensive internet, expensive parking if you drive to Barcelona. If price were not an issue, Grand Marina would be my choice.
2. Eurostars Angli: it sometimes feels good to be in a small hotel with few rooms.
3. Intercontinental Princesa Sofia: old style, old building, no view but walking distance to a FC Barcelona game, to nice parks, to shopping, etc. Tends to have a young crowd in the neighborhood as it is in the universities area.

Hi Paula. We took the speedy shuttle round-trip from the airport to the hotel. Booked online and redeemed the voucher at the airport kiosk. For two adults and one child, the total cost of the round trip was less than USD$50. The shuttle was private and had WiFi. Hope this helps!

Hi Rhonda. I didn't do an airport pickup. I got a taxi outside the airport to the hotel and it turned out to be very costly at €50. The cost of a taxi from the hotel to the city centre was around €25-€30. You are much better off taking the Metro.
