Acacia Suites provides excellent values if you enjoy room space, convenience and do not want to eat out every single day in your vacation.

Room: The best feature of the hotel is probably the size of the suite (compared to other hotels in similar calibre). The suite cosists of a main sleeping area, which can be partitioned from the living room area. There's also a kitchenette equipped with pots and pan, plates and cutleries. The sleeping area is not fully enclosed so beware that sound proof is minimal between seating and sleeping area. The room resembles an 80s style, so it's probably not the ideal choice if you prefer something modern and chic.

Kitchenette: There are two stoves and a kitchen fan. I cooked pasta carbonara for two nights and couldn't smell the bacon at all, so definitely a plus. Our room has microwave, and if you want toaster and additional items, you could request it. Compact but fully functional kitchen.

Bathroom: The shower was the only downside of the suite. It was slightly difficult to control the pressure of the shower head (either too weak or too strong). The edge of the standing shower we had was also not closed off, so the bathroom was slightly flooded the first night due to the high pressure and weak drainage. I managed to turn and shower sideway and put a towel to stop water from running out the edge and it was fine. This might be an individual case, but thought it's worth mentioning.

Service: Prompt and friendly. You have the leave your key at front desk when you leave the property, and at night for security reason the automatic door is locked so one has to be let in. Front desk was called up at one point when we return, which resulted us standing outside for 10 minutes. Other than that, the staff is very genuinely helpful.

Location: The hotel is right across from the subway station "Hospital". Very convenient to go around the city, especially if you have a Barcelona Card or day pass that allows you unlimited use of transport (I'd recommend the Barcelona cards because of the two free walking tours and a number of free museum access). If you come from the airport, I'd recommend purchasing the Barcelona card online for 10% discount, pick up at the airport. then take the train (included in the pass) instead of airport bus. You'll have to change once at Sant Estacio, but the subway stop is just too close not to do it. We took the airport shuttle bus, which you can get off at Urgell. They don't announce the stops on the bus, so once you miss the stop it will be a big journey heading back. Also the distance between the airport shuttle station is actually 957 meters according to google map instead of 300 as per hotel website. The walk definitely feels like 1 km especially if you are travelling with big luggage. There is also a decent supermarket within 1 minute walk, so it makes shopping for grocery and cooking rather manageable.

Overall I enjoyed my stay and there are many good qualities about the hotel. I would recommend it if you're looking for a practical space and reasonably priced stay in Barcelona.

We arrived at the accommodation and was told come back at 4, we returned 315 to be told a “colleague” had said that I (head of booking) had telephoned at 11pm the night before and postponed our stay to the following night. 1. If I had I would not have turned up the day before! Complete stress, put in different apartments for the night (which were lovely) but having take luggage back and forth another 15/20minutes up the road, being late for a booking, no where to change or freshen up in time it had completely ruined the experience and made my friends hen party stressful. We was also over charged city tax and after contacting them and through booking.com after agreeing to pay the over charge back have stopped replying to all emails! Disappointed completely the accommodation it’s self was fine and if not for the chaos would have been a pleasant stay!

For a 4 star rated aparthotel i expected a little more in terms of comfort and sadly i didnt see this in Acacia. As part of my trip in Barcelona i had to make a last minute change of travel plans (was already in Sitges) and booked Acacia at about midnight of 5th of April for a 3 nights stay.

The good
- Metro access just around the corner
- Apartment was spacious and very clean
- Check in was pretty fast and all receptionist were very helpful (Sebastine and co)
- The hotel is literally surrounded by good quality restaurants and groceries stores + supermarkets. All are all within walking distances from the hotel.
- You have utensils in your room and so you can afford to cook IF you really have to
- WIFI is available for free
- If you are planning to do a HO-HO (hop on & hop off) with Barcelona Touristic then the hotel is just 5 blocks away from the tour buses (both red and blue buses).
- The price was beautiful for a 4 star hotel.
- Overall ambiance was beautiful.
All these above points can, truth be told, provided by even a 3 star hotel so something special had to be given.

The bad
- WIFI was not really reliable particularly at nights. You needed to be extra patient to use it. For a tourist i needed the WIFI more at night after a whole day trip around town.
- The beds were extremely uncomfortable! I booked an apartment for 4 people and none of the bed could be called comfortable in anyways! Not even enough pillows was provided and the ones available (1 to a bed) was just basic.
- There was a safe deposit box in the room but you had to 2 Euros per night to use it! That was a 1st time for me!
- Noise level from the drainage pipes was extremely load. My room was just next to the maintenance room (i guess) and there was so much noise emanating from that room that if one is a light sleeper he/she would find it very hard to sleep.

Overall the fact that the hotel was rated a 4 star gave me a lot of high expectation and sadly it fell a tad short of these expectations.

Stayed from the 6th April'15 for 3 nights in room 201.

For a city break the Acacia Suites ticked all the boxes for us. We had booked 2 rooms. Our pre-requisites were clean rooms, reasonable location, quiet, air conditioning, fridge, safe, kettle.
This aparthotel was spotlessly clean - little touches showed the maids actually took a pride in their work.
Yes the view from the rooms at the back were far from "panoramic" (ref other reviews) but what do you want from a city break? Somewhere to get breakfast in the morning, then in the evening a shower, a brew or cold beer before going out to eat in the evening and finally somewhere clean and comfortable to get your head down before more sightseeing the following day.
The guys on the desk were really helpful, telling us what was going on that day and recommending where to go.
Security-wise, entrance to the aparthotel was controlled by the guys on the reception. Brilliant.
Location-wise, the metro (Hospital Clinic) is one block away. Ideal for airport transfers. City tour bus a 5 min walk up the road, good restaurants on the doorstep, supermarket around the corner, fabulous small market couple of blocks away.

Going to Barcelona on a city break? I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Nothing to do with the hotel but ONE POINT OF CAUTION!
Beware the "Bird Poo" scam.

We were in the Palau Reial (near the Nou Camp) and were "squirted" by 3 people - two women and a man. They squirted a green liquid over us from behind and made out it was Bird Poo. They tried to help and "Surprise! Surprise!" had tissues at hand to clean up the mess. They were very nice in trying to help us clean our clothes but were actually trying to pick our pockets.

Hotel situated very close to metro station, just the corner of the block. The personnel at the reception were very helpful in general but especially they tried to help me with the metro tickets and the maps etc.
Rooms were functional and modern. Furniture was new. I stayed in a two room suite. The bathroom was very clean and there was no problem at all. There was a bidet in the bathroom which is crucial for Muslims. I liked it.
The bed was comfortable. The only criticism I can make is the LCD TV was small.
Surrounding area is full of local restaurants and bars. There is a supermarket near which you can make small shopping with reasonable prices.
All I can say it is above the average and the staff is very friends.
Thanks for the great help provided for me.

As long as you like the location the hotel is quite appropriate. I would return to this hotel if I were to return to Barcelona. The hotel is within 100 metres of a Metro station, or if you take the airport bus it is about 1km of walking from the bus stop.

The wifi was acceptable but not perfect for all of my devices. We were able to stream Netflix most of the time but we did have buffering issues here and there. The speed was about 1-3 megabits. Cell service in my room was poor but between the two options we were mostly covered. You didn't need to login each time like with other hotels.

There were electrical outlets here and there but never enough for me and my toys. There was no 110 volt option in he bathroom either. There was no vent fan in the bathroom either.

The kitchen and fridge were great. We cooked a few meals in order to save a bit of money and make our own food as we like it. This really came in quite handy.

The place was perfectly dark. This really helped out when we wanted to sleep in a bit - no using eye masks. There are also automatic window closers (I think for security and darkness). The hotel itself was quiet, although we could hear the business next door making renovations during the day. We could hear another room once have an argument but it was rather temporary. This could happen anywhere.

The couch can pull out, probably for an additional fee (as we read). There is a divider that can be used to separate the two rooms for privacy. The maid cleaned our dishes as well. We left some balsamic dressing behind. There was no salt or pepper, olive oil, soap or scrubbing brushes. There was a drying towel, dishes and silverware. The fridge comes full with times at your cost, however we did read that the staff will remove these items at your request.

The air conditioning worked well however there is no thermostat to set, only off and fan speeds of 1,2 or 3.

The bathroom was nice. The shower head was not that sturdy and if you happen to put the water pressure on too hard then water can get all over the place. Also there really is no lip for the shower and unless you are paying attention you will have water problems.

You have to leave your key at the front desk, it is on a big block of wood, and this is a bit annoying however it did not impose too much.

The front desk is 24 hours however at 1am one morning we had to wait about 4 minutes to have the clerk return to open the door for us. The front desk also printed our boarding passes at no charge when we left.

The safe was not free. We didn't try the breakfast.

A four star was given based upon the price, cooking amenities and location.

Being a family of four, suite rooms or two rooms at other hotels would have been more expensive. This place has large enough rooms to accommodate four people comfortably and their rooms come with a kitchen area where you can cook. There are several small "super merkat" stores that our open 24 hours nearby and a "Dia" grocery 2 blocks away. Though it is a nice neighboorhood, it is quite far from the center of things (plaza cataluña). Its a good thing there's cabify which allowed us to get around conveniently through our whole stay. Not exactly a hotel, but worth the price you pay for. Comfortable and clean. Friendly and helpful staff.

After having booked in the Acacia Suites from Germany, I arrived the next day only to be told by the manager that my reservation was for the following month. This was a no refund reservation however he would check with his other hotels in the group to see if they had a vacancy. (Ihad already paid the day before with my credit card). He found a room in another hotel that was 14 miles away but the only drawback was I would have to pay up front for this new room. He said the hotel would contact the booking agent and inform them to refund my money as I was staying with the same family of hotels so there would not be a problem. He sent an email to the booking agent to confirm this refund.
After 2.5 months of email, both with the booking agent and the hotel group, the booking agent now informs me that the hotel group said they would not refund my original payment.

First of all, I would like to thank you for taking the time to write a review of Acacia Suite. I would like to explain what happened with your reservation. You made a non-refundable reservation for November and you showed up one month earlier, when the hotel was fully booked. In order to help you solve your reservation mistake, we found and booked a room for you in another hotel of our Hotel Chain. Moreover, we offered you to give your money back as soon as you contact your travel agency, where you booked the room, and ask them for a free cancellation in the following 30 days. We even sent you an email some days later reminding that we hadn't received any email from you or from your travel agency. We explained you that reservations made through Travel Agency can't be cancelled directly by the Hotel, they must be managed directly by you and the travel agency. Finally, your travel agency paid us your non-refundable reservation so we had to make the bill to our provider. For all these reasons, we did not cheat you, we helped you and offered you real solutions. Yours sincerely,

either jump in a taxi (About 10 mins ride), the metro L5, or you could walk as it is virtually a straight road to the hospital clinic, abpuit 20 mins. Make sure you are going to the Clinic as there are lots of hospitals near the Acacia.
