This place is amazing. The staff is awesome. They have so many nice amenities, snacks, all the ice and soda drinks you need. The bakery items made by Nancy were delicious. We had issues with our boat and everyone was so helpful. They have a freezer to store your fish
as well. Their hot tub is in the back of the lodge
amongst the trees, very enjoyable after a day of
fishing. We’ll be back.

A wonderful trip! We rented on of the houses on the Mckay Bay Lodge and it was amazing. Everyone there was so nice and helpful! We went fishing every day and walked the nearby beaches. 100% would recommend, and I cant wait to go back again!

We stayed at McKay Bay Lodge a couple weeks ago and really enjoyed our time there. The place is very beautiful and the McKay's were very hospitable. I especially enjoyed the forest hot tub. If you are looking for a great west coast get away, this is the place to come!

This was my first trip out to Bamfield and it definitely won't be the last! The McKay Bay Lodge is the ideal place to stay for those looking to do some fishing or hang out on the beach around Bamfield. They offer great guided fishing tours and the beautiful Bradey's Beach is only a 10 minute walk away! The lodge facilities and staff were also very good. I highly recommend this destination!!

+1
Beautiful location, friendly staff, and all around great service. Flash freezer and vaccum sealer were ideal for packaging the fish we caught before we travelled home. New dock addition looks amazing and provided an extra area to relax with a book, beer and a view. A local sea lion would visit the dock every afternoon to pick up scraps from the fish cleaning station and would put on quite a show. The cherry on top to a perfect holiday.

First class accommodation to compliment a terrific fishing experience. Rooms were good sized, clean, beds were wonderful; food was outstanding as was customer service levels. For fishing enthusiasts, the boat dock was efficient, well organized and great for guests returning from a fishing trip. Great layout for guides to gut, clean and prepare fish. Ice house was great for storing packaged fish. Deck offers great view of the inlet. Worth every penny!!

I stayed in one of the houses, not the main lodge. It seemed quite nice and new and was a very comfortable stay. The smallish individual rooms each had their own bathroom and the bed in my room was great.

We had meals in the main lodge and they were really very good. They were able to accommodate a bunch of different dietary restrictions and every meal was different, hearty and interesting.

The lodge is set in a jewel-like surroundings. It really was stunning and so peaceful. It was quite the trek from Vancouver, ferry to Nanaimo, down a logging road, across the water in a water taxi, etc., etc., but the end result was a truly breath-taking sight, and a delightful stay.

I'll never forget the kindness of Mel and Cheryl, owners of McKay Lodge
I had just finished hiking the West Coast Trail and finished one day earlier than planned
Mel most kindly picked me up at Pachena Bay trailhead and drove me to their charming beautiful lodge. Instantly I was greeted by other guests in a wonderfully welcoming atmosphere. Mel gave me a delicious dinner that was completely unexpected and above and beyond. The bedroom was heaven for me, I slept so well.
I was served an incredible breakfast in their dining room with a gorgeous view. I could have sat there all day or outside on their deck and enjoyed the view of the harbour.
I promise myself to come back to stay there again, maybe learn how to fish !
