We were here for a wedding in early September and enjoyed our stay. It's pretty much exactly as advertised on the website. As a few others have noted, there are a couple of little quirks with the place. First, when we arrived in Picton at around 9:00 p.m., we found there was no one to greet us, but the door was open and there was a note attached telling us that our room was ready for us upstairs. Being an older house (approx. 150 years I think), there is a steep set of stairs leading up to the bedrooms. We were in the Blue Huron suite which was big and had an ensuite bathroom inside. One of the rooms has a bathroom in the hallway, right outside our room but it wasn't a big deal. Our only complaint about the room was that the bed was terrible. It was like sleeping on a pile of old pillows. My feet were actually slightly higher than my head and the old A/C unit combined with the clicking sound made by the ceiling fan made it hard to fall asleep. Aside from that, Nona and Brooke are great hosts. Breakfast is delicious! We had homemade fruit salad, toast, cheeses, and homemade cherry pie one morning and homemade quiche the next. Brooke and Nona take the time to get to know you and are very helpful. They can be chatty, but that's part of staying at a B&B for me and I appreciated their offer to map out a wine route and a more scenic route for the drive home. Aside from our bed, this was a nice stay.

When you book a B&B you want a clean room, a bed and a breakfast - this place delivers on all those counts and more. The room was indeed large and clean, the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in and huge, the breakfast, although continental, had a good choice of breads, muffins, fresh fruit, cheeses, meats etc and there was something for all tastes. We arrived a lot earlier than the check-in time but were met with a note on the door telling us where our room was and to asking us to "make ourselves at home" - a nice touch. The location is superb, within walking distance to Picton Main Street and harbour and across from the park. The garden is lovely to sit in and has a great pool.

There are a few quirky things such as no full length mirror in room, limited drawer space, tea and coffee making facilities were on landing and in the room you couldn't have the air conditioning on and watch TV at the same time! None of these issues are deal breakers and were far outweighed by the great value of the stay and most importantly, the hosts helpfulness and friendliness. On our 2 night visit they marked out on a map a suggested driving route for us to follow around the area - taking into account our interests. We observed they did the same for a family with a young child and also a couple who wanted to go out on bikes. They can also recommend restaurants, golf etc. Brooke and Nona must do this regularly for different guests but made us all feel that it was personal to us. I think anything you required or wanted to know you would only have to ask them and they would happily oblige.

Would I stay here again? Yes without a doubt!

We stayed in Blue heron room recently. Nice size, comfy bed, very clean. Pros: pool & hot tub, very good breakfast, friendly hosts, Sandbanks passes Cons: squeaky doors! Wi-fi spotty, on-street parking. Deck around pool needs work; slivers galore if not careful.

I'd recommend it- good value for the price, and Brooke & Nona are great people to chat with.

I would highly recommend this lovely B&B, only a 5 minute walk to the harbour and centre of town with shops and restaurants. We stayed in the yellow room, very clean, beds were comfortable, chocolates on the pillow, all information you needed was provided in a file in the room. Outdoors there is a nice size pool which we used everyday, lots of seating area with wipes provided. We met the owners who were very friendly and welcoming, even Max the dog who was adorable. Breakfast vouchers were provided and we loved all three places bed had breakfast - crepe escape, lighthouse restaurant and Vic cafe. We will be back thank you so much for a wonderful stay. We stayed in the blue room for 2 nights. It was very tastefully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Amazing soap, shampoo & shower gel provided. We received 2 vouchers (25$ each), one for the Lighthouse Restaurant and one for the Bean Countet Café as there was no breakfast served.
There is a lovely garden with a decent sized pool but it was already too cold for swimming. The hot tub was not available d/t maintenance - that would have been perfect for the fall weather.
Communication was friendly and thorough. Overall a clear recommendation :)

They cancelled our reservation two days before we were set to arrive. We had the room booked for a week prior.

They left us without a place to stay at the last minute!

Enough said!

My husband and I spent a weekend here and let's say we were less than thrilled. The place needs some updates for certain. Our room was dusty and simply not up to the standards we are used to in B&B's. The breakfast was okay, certainly not bad, but nothing memorable at all. The biggest turn of for us were, sadly, the hosts! While Brooke and Nona are nice enough people, they ought to dial it back a little. We have stayed at MANY B&B's over the years, and I appreciate hosts who seem interested and are helpful. But as another reviewer remarked they will "talk your ear off if you let them" that is 100% true. Sadly we didn't know the key to getting them to stop! Yet another reviewer remarked that they were intrusive and asked personal questions, I found this to be the case, as well. We actually grew to feel uncomfortable entering the house because literally every single time we walked in (after meals, wineries, a walk to town, etc) Nona came running out to grill us on what we did, what we ate, where are we going for dinner, etc. It is WAAAY too much! Yes be helpful and let us know you're available to reserve a table, help plan winery visits, but know when to stop already! Not a peaceful stay at all, the opposite in fact, We skipped breakfast our last day because we were just so eager to leave. Unless you enjoy having zero privacy and being put through the 3rd degree constantly then stay anywhere but here!

Nona and Brooke are fantastic hosts that welcome you open arms and hearts into their beautiful home. My sister and I loved the personalised attention and fantastic insights into the Prince Edward County region. The room was clean and comfortable- we felt like kids again, sleeping in single beds and sharing a bedroom. Each morning we had elaborate breakfasts and hilarious conversations about Canada and Australia. They shared our wicked sense of humour and outlook on life. We were halfway through our 7 week USA and Canada holiday and had stayed at so many 5 star hotels and boutique resorts that we became disillusioned with the impersonal hype- Harrington House is a home away from home! Nina their kind and gentle dog would nuzzle up to us every morning and welcome us when we got home- she was a great comfort as we were missing our furkids back home. We originaly planned to stay for 2 nights but we ended up staying for 4. They even helped us with finding accomodation with another of their friends in Toronto. Nona, Brooke and Nina made our stay in Prince Edward Island the highlight of our trip.

My wife and I had such a wonderful stay at the Harrington House B&B. The room was very comfortable and quite. The bed had a super mattress on it, and we both had an amazing sleep. Before breakfast I went for a quick walk to beautiful downtown historic Picton. The location is perfect. It is close to everything but not noisy or busy.

The breakfast was fantastic. Nona was up at 5:30 and made the most wonder scones that we have ever had. We has three choices of juice, fresh fruit and cereal, french toast with fruit and whipped butter and sausages, and superb cups of coffee.

The real treat of course is the host and hostess. They are lovely, caring people, funny and fabulous story tellers and listeners. You won't be disappointed!

We had a one night stay booked. Their online availability clearly stated that only one night was available for that particular room. we couldn't have booked two nights if we had tried!! Yes, it did say there was a two night minimum but it took my one night reservation and it was confirmed by email from owner.

Today i get an email saying that the booking was taken in error...two night minimum required during the summer months...You confirmed my booking!! If you run a B&B please know what you are doing.

I would not stay at this B&B. I'd rather sleep in my car.

Stay far, far away!
