This was our first visit, we were in site 52 with a 30' trailer. Lots of room on the gravel pad, level, nice grass, camp fires are small and low in the ground so makes for a smokey fire. They sell fire wood (we got about 7pcs for $7.50) very bad quality. Go to the local Canadian Tire for more and better quality wood (located 5mins up the road). Our site is narrow and very close to our neighbours. Wifi is included but only 1 straight hour within a 24hr period. Cable TV only provides 4 stations and poor quality connection! Showers are $1.50 for 5mins. Full hook ups costs us $40/night. Sheep River is right beside us as well is the Lions Playground. Very busy but worth it- one of the best playgrounds, and no sand, rocks instead. Now for the negatives- rules rules rules! The place is run by seniors, they are grumpy and always coming around and nit picking. Lots of long term seniors stay here and we think they add to the drama. If you have a dog- they charge more, no mats or anything!! On the grass, no checking after 9pm (if they are in a good mood and you call they may let you in till 10pm. The playground main road park gate closes at 11pm.
If you show up after 9pm- even if for an honest reason, they still won't let you in and charge you the full amount. Happed to us and we stayed at the local Walmart- not a location I would suggest for an over nighter.
Over all- nicely cared for park but be ware....lots of rules.

This Lions CG is situated on the banks of the Sheep River and adjacent to Hwy 2a as it passes through the centre of town. Traffic noise is noticeable but not overwhelming and did not cause any problems overnight. Equally, the trains that pass through are on the opposite side of the river but do sound their horns.

The staff at reception is pleasant and welcoming and from what I saw, all appear to be seniors. I was advised, without asking, to use a pressure reducer for the water - apparently it is 70+psi. I was also made aware of the town fire ban and outdoor water ban - due to hot, dry weather. They also mentioned there had been a rash of thefts recently and to ensure everything was locked up. Police do patrol through the night and there is a barrier with access code but still accessible to pedestrian or cycle traffic. After paying I was then escorted to my site.

This was a long ( 65’+), fairly level, gravel & dirt pull-thru with 30amp, water & sewer. It had a picnic bench and fire pit located on the 15’ width of grass between my door side and my neighbor. Sites are fairly close together and there are lots of mature trees for shade. Tengo Wi-Fi is free for 1 hour every 24 and was OK, although it did drop me several times. Additional Wi-FI can be bought. Several OTA TV channels had good signals. Power was stable @ 120v.

The bathrooms require a code to access and are small but clean and neatly tiled. Not sure you could get a wheelchair into either of the stalls on the men’s side. Showers are pay and looked to cost $1 but for how long I’m not sure. We used our on-board shower so I cannot comment more.

No on site laundry or pet walk that I noticed. Overflow parking is available but in a public lot outside the CG. Appears to be mainly transient Rvers but perhaps a handful of seasonals too. Tents are permitted on specific sites.

We would revisit.

This is a pretty good location to consider when visiting Calgary. It’s a large town with all of the major stores including a Costco, Wal-Mart and Canadian Tire. For real British Fish n Chips visit The British Chippy across the river. Best we’ve had since emigrating. Not cheap but authentic. I’m not sure what else there is to do here as we only came for a change of scenery from our usual weekend haunt and to decompress over the long weekend.

Cute campground with nice washrooms and right in the centre of town. DO NOT show up any time before 1pm. We arrived at 12:40 and the park supervisor in site 1 was ignorant . This guy should not be dealing with the public . He ranted on about they r closed for lunch till 1 pm. No problem we will wait till 1, driving a motor home with a tow vehicle and no place to move to I will park where I am till lunch is over .
Thankfully some other staff came with common sense , settled him down and were helpful and pleasant.

We have stayed here twice. Last year with our daughter and her three active children, and last week just two grandparents. Very well run and clean. Despite being located in the town of Okotoks, it is very quiet. Shopping within easy walking distance. It has a river next to it that was lots of fun last year in August for the kids. This year too dangerous. Bike paths are perfect and easy to access. We did day trips to mountains and Calgary. Highly recommend!

One of our campsites was 6 campsites away while 2 empty campsite beside & a cross us sat open for 2 days. We booked this on May 1st and gave them plenty of time to organize 4 sites to be next to or across from.
My dad is in a wheelchair & had pulled in nose first & we were told that we couldn’t do that for safety issues. I to expressed my safety issues of accessibility for my dad. We pointed out that there was bus also pulled in nose first, and I refused to comply, then was told that if I didn’t I & my parents would be put on a list. This list is you can never return. I told her, that was fine we won’t be back anyway.
We travelled from BC & my Parents from Manitoba.
There are many rules & regulations some reasonable & some ridiculous . I found that the people that took care of the grounds to be great, but management was rude. Both at booking & time of visit

Manager was very rude when we asked to be moved to our correct site. We’re told we had to wait, which was no problem for us, but he came unglued and wanted to evict us before we even set up. Paid for full service, but he shut the power off to our site after we were moved. No partial refund was offered at all. If you plan on coming here hopefully he won’t be in as our mood. We won’t be going back.

Have stayed before without issue but this time when I questioned a low hanging tree branch that would drag along the top of my 5th wheel, I was promptly told to leave. The old guy that professes to be the "Manager" needs to learn that customers have opinions that need to be heard and addressed instead of him yelling and then kicking them off the property. Strongly recommend avoiding this campground!

This is our second and last time. We called in advance to book a specific spot. When we arrived it was not correct. We immediately asked to change and was told no that’s not our policy. The place was half full. Asked to speak to manager. 2 hours later still waiting. I have 1 week off a year and I told the woman. She couldn’t care less nor obviously could the manager. Ice. Super upsetting. Way to ruin my vacation. Hope they all get treated the same someday.

Won’t be back and would tell you not to bother. Good thing for them most people dont read reviews.

Noise is unreal. Okotoks must be the red neck capitol of the world!!! Between loud motorcycles and rig pigs in their loud trucks, it is too much!! No noise bylaw here. Campground is not far off the main drag and the deadbeats roar up and down here all day and night. Next door to rcmp, but they do absolutely nothing about it - must not be any revenue in it for them. Some of the staff is good but one lady is rather rude.
