My husband and I stayed here for the first time and were pleasantly surprised! Clean, quiet rooms with comfy beds. Our A/C in our room was working overtime during that heat wave so Jim brought us a fan to use as well. Slept great!! Jim and Crystal were wonderful hosts and made us feel so welcome. They went above and beyond for our big group of riders. Will definitely stay here again!

Friendly staff and very helpful. My room was very clean, comfy bed, and good shower. I had stopped on the way home (Vernon) in Golden to fuel up my vehicle, only to realize that when I reached in my back pocket for my wallet, it was not there. What a gut wrenching feeling. No cash, no credit cards, no debit cards, no drivers license, no BC care card and no I.D. whatsoever. An Alberta couple saw me in distress and gave me $40.00 for fuel to get home. I asked them several times for their email address and that I would e-transfer them the $40.00 immediately when I got back home. They would have nothing to do with that and just wished me a safe and happy trip back home. God bless them. I called the motel and the shipped my wallet back immediately. Many thanks to the Brown family for doing that.

We arrived on our bikes to a cold beer - it was a hot one for riding at a temp of +34 in late afternoon. We checked in to the Lazy Bear, parked our bikes, unpacked and hit the outdoor pool! The pool is a plus and we also enjoyed the barbecue for grilling supper that evening. The room we had was rustic and outdated but clean. The lady who checked us in and out the next day was very accomodating and was always available if we had questions or needed someting. We would definitely stay again!!

What a wonderful place to stay “Kevin James” (Jim) and Crystal are the best! They go above and beyond to make you feel welcome at their Motel. All the motel staff and other guests made it feel like home. Clean rooms, comfy beds, the pool was so refreshing and the perfect temperature. They even attached a hose on the top deck to mist us- who does that!!!! The rates are so reasonable, I don’t know why anyone would stay anywhere else. 5 STARS FOR SURE.

The staff was friendly. However, it seems there are many local individuals calling the motel home. We were woken in the middle of the night by profanity and partying. This went on for at least an hour. The rooms have been updated, but renovated is a huge stretch. The room smelled like smoke and there were missing handles and lights. Unfortunate experience, especially since we were trying to support local.

Big screen TV, larger than average motel fridge, comfy bed and smaller washroom and shower. No complaints for the price. Staff was friendly at check-in. I would stay here again for a lower priced CLEAN motel.

Word can’t express the awesome experience we had the last week at the Lazy Bear Lodge. From the express early checkin to the rooms, balcony, pool, staff and owners. Jim & Chrystal and their family can’t accommodate you enough in this family run motel. If you’re looking for a clean room and very reasonable rates- then look no further. We consider this Cranbrooks Hidden Oasis for their courtyard heated pool. Can’t wait for the next stay.

I was very happy with my accommodation at the Lazy Bear Lodge. The room was clean as was the property and it was equipped with a fridge and microwave. I was pleased with my stay. The cleaning lady was friendly and very helpful. Management were friendly and accommodating.

If you are considering going at this time of year you should probably call. we went during the shoulder season and it was pretty open both checking in and out.
There are more places to choose from in the Cranbrook area.
