My sister, mother and I recently stayed at this hotel for almost a week after getting into a car accident in a nearby town that left us staying longer than anticipated. I will also make a point of adding my mother required accessibility as she uses a wheelchair. The staff – like literally ALL of them – were amazing. The hotel was clean (and trust me – this is a major thing for me!!), is fairly central to many things in walking or short driving distance, and the hotel entrance and room itself were very accommodating to our needs (this hotel appeared to be the ONLY one in St. John that had accessible rooms with TWO beds!). But most importantly, in my opinion, as a group of three women in an unknown city, we all felt safe there. Thank you to the staff at Lakeview Inn & Suites in Fort St. John for such a comforting experience!

We were on our way to the Yukon and were not able to make our pre-reserved lodging destination due to unforeseen circumstances. We were travelling with a dog and needed a place to stay for the night. We searched on the Internet and found a few pet friendly hotels/motels in town. We touched the phone number associated with the hotel online and were faced with a no vacancy reply from the front desk agent (who we thought was associated with the hotel). The front desk asked if he could help us to secure a hotel in town. Thought that was a nice gesture. Little did we know we were talking to a travel company. We secured a room at the Coast Hotel and had to pay (no refunds) on the phone. Glad to have a room we proceeded to the hotel. The hotel did NOT have a room. The hotel front desk lady and the manager went way out of their way to find lodging for us in town. In the end they gave us a room at the hotel(which was just starting to get renovated). We were very appreciative because we were tired and needed a place to stay for the night. The hotel manager, Mr. Chandan Sehgal, and the front desk lady were really great. I can't express enough the gratitude we felt to be able to get a room on short notice. Beware of hitting the "call phone number online". This will get you a travel agency who charge additional fees to your bill(double). The hotel should have received the total amount for the effort they went through to get us a room there. Please call the hotel number "directly from your phone" so you don't have to go through what we went through. Bravo to the staff at the Coast Hotel in St. John, B.C. from us.

Spacious rooms and very comfortable beds. Staff is very accommodating and pleasant will definitely stay here again.

Excellent place to enjoy with family and friends , must visit , one of the best experiences till date , planned to to stay a day but stayed 5 days . Very comfortable hotel downtown FSJ. Friendly staff, helpful. Both exterior entrances could use an

I always stay here when I'm in town, the front desk staff are great, they have some new compfy beds for great sleep.
I wasn't too happy with the breakfast this time though, they must have changed suppliers, I have let them know and am confident they will rectify the issues.

The hotel is a little old and maybe just a little rough in some places. But the room was comfortable, sort of quiet and about what you would expect for the price and location. The front desk staff were all fantastic - very friendly and helpful. I'lol probably look for a different spot next time, but really wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

The desk clerk allowed a man to observe my information - I unsuccessfully asked for a different room than the man had seen - add that to a ground level broken window lock and you have a very unsettling night. I won't be back.

Judy L, Thank you for taking the time to post your concerns. I am aware that your feedback was also received at the desk and communicated to the management team after your stay with us. Regrettably, there was not anything that could be done to help you feel more at ease at the time. I certainly understand your concerns - those posted here and the details I was advised after you checked out. It has been investigated and I understand the Front Desk agents were unable to move you to a room you felt more comfortable due to a sold out status of the Hotel. Unfortunately at this point I can not change that experience for you. I can only apologize and assure you that the window lock was reported to our Maintenance Manager and fixed and we have reminded the staff to be aware of privacy of information in the presence of multiple guests. Our lobby is a small area as you know and they are aware to be more conscious of this now. Thank you for bringing your experience to our attention so that we can use it as a tool to engage our guest service agents in better practices. I trust all other aspects of your stay were to your satisfaction and hope that you provide us another opportunity to prove to you that this experience was not typical. Fort St. John, like lots of northern Canadian towns, is a bit odd - kind of like a frontier town. This hotel was a good choice for us and the breakfast they laid out is the best I've had in several months of having to eat the free breakfasts that come with hotel stays. This place had very decent cinnamon rolls, a bowl of chili con carne and very decent turnovers along with other regular foods. (And they had a decent mocha machine). I was trying to think of a way to amuse my kid when the receptionist told us to try out the local swimming pool across the street. It was really more like a water park with a wave pool, diving boards, hot tub and so on. And the hotel gave us free passes! The room was very clean - only downside was the AC didn't work well, but it wasn't hot outside so that wasn't an issue for us.
