A stayed at the Northern Grand Hotel (NGH) in early February 2020. The outside is nothing special but the inside was surprisingly better than expected. It was quite nice for a small town. The room that I had (two double beds) was comfortable. It had great black out blinds (not so important in the winter, but very important in the summer). The bathroom had radiant heat floors, which my toes appreciated. The hotel restaurant is quite good. I had the Pad Thai. It was as good as any I have had previously. The complementary hot breakfast was scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, but they also had a nice fruit salad, yogurt, and cereals.

We stayed on the 5th floor for 3 nights in July 2020. We found the entire room very comfortable- bed, room temp, pillows. There were a couple of nice perks like a robe, and ample charging stations and plug ins near the bed, reading light and black out shades. All made for a nice stay. Only reason I gave a 4/5 was because the toilet was running and we were always having to jiggle the handle. Thanks to Jordan at the front desk for being so welcoming.

The major drawback is sound transmission between the rooms. The first night I was there (of three) I could hear virtually every word of a very long conversation the woman in the next room was having with someone on the phone. At first I thought the conversation was coming from the hall and wondered why people were carrying on a conversation in the hall. But then I realized it was coming from the next room. The next 2 nights no problem or I would have asked to move. The shower is idiosyncratic to put it charitably but the towels are great. The room itself was comfortable, the working arrangements perfectly satisfactory (desk, chair, wifi) and the breakfast is definitely above average.

We have been using Ramada for business travel for years. We have been loving it for the clean rooms and warm breakfast. We have always been giving it 5 stars...Well, until this recent trip.
When we booked the room, we asked if there is shuttle bus from the airport. A front desk person called me, said there is no shuttle bus on the weekend, but she can call a Teco taxi for us to pick us up from the airport.
When we arrived on Sunday April 17th at FSJ airport, there was no taxi at the airport for us. I called the hotel, the same front desk clerk told me that the taxi will come. We waited and waited at the airport, while all passengers on the same plane left the airport. During the one hour we were waiting, I have been calling the hotel, and kept getting the same answers from the same hotel that the taxi is on its way.
I have also asked the front desk person, is there any other taxi company we can call, the answer from her was "No, this is the only taxi company".
After a whole hour of waiting, there were nobody but my co-worker and I at the airport. We were tired, cold, hungry, and desperate to leave. The airport security show us a different taxi company (energetic taxi) number. We called them, and they came in 10 mins!!! So there is other taxi companies, not sure why the hotel front desk told us Teco is the only one available.
Once we got to the hotel, the front desk person did not even apologize once, not even something like "I am sorry you have to wait at the airport for 1 hour". All she did was wasting more of our time to explain it is not her fault, also she was not the one booked that taxi for us. Really, after talking to her for so many times, I know her voice. Well that is not the point, the point is, we were very very tired and needed to get up early in the morning to travel, we don't need to listen to her finding excuses.
For such a great hotel, it is a shame to have an employee like that to work at the front desk, which is the face of the hotel. I really hope that we don't need to see her again next time we stay at your hotel.

We travelled from Williams Lake to Fort St John to play hockey. This hotel has customer service dialled in. Tastefully updated, the hotel staff thought of it all when they added a games room for kids (or adults) to go hang out in. And breakfast - not your ordinary continental breakfast. Literally the best one we’ve been to outside of Banff Springs Hotel. The restaurant was also a great surprise - excellent steak diner with quick and pleasant service. This hotel is worth your stay. You won’t be disappointed.

This was a surprisingly great hotel. Surprising because from the outside it looks rather dull, bleak and old. Even the entrance under canopy looks suspect
But as soon as I walked in I was surprised by the modern decor and the pristine lobby. Then greeted by Jordan , who was awesome all 3 days we were there, made it obvious this hotel was a step up. I go to FSJ often. This is not the only hotel I have stayed in but it is by a long shot the nicest. With Covid and a slowdown in the energy industry we got our room at a great price. Our room was perfect as was our whole stay. Fantastic service. Thanks Jordan. I’ll be back to the NGH

This hotel has been a main feature of central Fort St. John for several decades, but the facility has been well maintained and kept clean. Much of downtown is a short walk from here, and the hotel is easy to find while driving in from the airport. The complimentary breakfast included a variety of options to satisfy all tastes. Do check out the interesting historical photos of Fort St. John displayed in the elevator lobbies on each floor!

I have stayed at the Northern Grand many times but this was the best yet. From the warm welcome and excellent customer service we received from KJ at the front desk to the very comfortable and clean room this was such a positive experience. The restaurant has really changed from my memory. Lots of delicious choices including a lot of Gluten Free options, attentive service and reasonable prices made this a great evening. Will be heading back there again tonight and making this hotel our regular choice on trips to Fort St John

My legal team used this hotel for a mediation. There were extenuating circumstances requiring extra security measures, and the hotel staff and management were beyond helpful in ensuring that these needs were met. The board rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the breakfast spread brought to us was excellent. The hotel rooms for my lawyers and I were clean and well-supplied.

This place can be summed up with finding a dead bug in a supposed clean drinking glass that had that paper lid/hat on it. See photo.

Yes I have. International customer relations has also tried numerous times. It took international customer relations contacting the owner to get him to reply. Said I would be contacted directly. I still have heard nothing from them. I have an apt with my lawyer next week. I will proceed with filing my notice of civil claim. Thank you for your response.
