Detailed Reviews
We enjoyed staying at the Brookside Cabines as they were very clean, beautifully laid out and well-furnished. We only stayed one night but my wife and I enjoyed a great night's sleep. The location was just out of town but certainly on our way to Calgary. Brookside Cabins are a great hidden gem, in a fabulous little town.

We recently stayed at this motel for one week and really enjoyed it. The cabin was clean with no problems. We liked the location, you could walk to the restaurants easily and it is close to grocery stores The owner was very nice and accomadating to our requests. He helped us plan some days with directions etc:
We were there for a vacation and if you have not been to Golden BC Canada, you must go and see the beauty of it and definitely stay at Brookside Motel. I will stay there again and I recommend it. The price is also very reasonable.

Super cute inside, roomy with a full kitchenette. I always try to stay in cabins vs hotels. It had everything needed for the type of stay I was looking for.
I must say though, I was highly disappointed when pulling up to check in. I thought I had the location wrong. The cabins themselves are really nice and the property is done up with flowers etc (a creek behind our cabin) but straight out from the front of our cabin is a rather large, ugly and noisy industrial business. Of course the mountains behind it are gorgeous, however it was a huge eyesore and we didn't care for the big trucks and transports constantly pulling in with their loud engines and brakes. This information upon booking would have been appreciated. I wanted to give my mother a place where she could make a morning coffee and sit on the porch to enjoy the sun coming up. This was not appealing in the least.
I did have to ask for sheets to put on the pull out couch bed and a different BBQ as the one provided when we arrived had no propane, grill, cooking tools or cover.
We both personally love trains so the tracks and constant passing trains practically next door didn't bother me one bit but I know many people that would not have been able to handle that. The wifi was quite weak, luckily I'm not there to be on my phone.
Based solely on the cabins, I would stay here again as they were super clean and provided all I needed but for the price per night, I can't justify the location. These mountain weekend trips are my city escape and I'd like to be in the trees more than this accommodation could give.

I stayed at the Brookside Motel with 3 other female friends while on a hiking weekend. We were particular on cleanliness and having a functional kitchen for us to make our food (and refrigerate some perishables). It is a short walking distance to my favorite coffee shop and gasoline station convenience stores.
I would definitely stay again ... great value for my money.
The only downside is the train that keeps chugging at the back of the motel. However, at close to 10pm, the train stops running so everybody along that strip in Golden can have a restful night.

We were very impressed with our cabin. It was extremely clean and fresh. We were very well taken care of clean towels every day, BBQ at our door and friendly dogs to greet each day. Our host was awesome as were the other guests. We defiantly would stay here again. Highly recommend it.

Golden is not what we would regard as a 'must visit' destination, rather somewhere to spend a night on a journey from Vancouver to say Banff or Lake Louise. The Brookside Motel offers comfortable wooden bungalows with more than enough space for four with a well equipped kitchen and bathroom with shower. Although there is no restaurant or bar there are other venues only a short walk away. Highly recommended.

I stayed here for 2 nights in July 2015 on my way to the Okanagan. The owner Rheal and his wife are very friendly and welcoming, just what I needed. It was a perfect place to rest and recharge after leaving Calgary and a great break during a long drive. I stayed in two different cabins, both very clean and comfortable, like your own little tiny house. The grounds are beautiful and well kept and the owner was very warm, kind and accomodating. It was high season and still very reasonably priced, unlike other hotels in town. I was very happy to have come upon it and would definitely stay there again. As other guests have mentioned it is close to train tracks but I found that did not bother me, I wasn't in the cabins closest to it anyway, actually kind of added to the charm of the place.

Stayed here for 1 night last week on our travels back home on the motorcycle. The owner has had this place for 20 years and has done a fantastic job on renovating the cabins! He can accomadations a couple or up to a cabin with 3-4 double beds. The cabin was very clean with amenities needed! Ravelle (sorry about the spelling) was very accomadations even giving us a ride to the Restaraunt. "good job, man" will be spreading the word on your place. Just one comment, I think you should update the mattresses, kept falling into the centre.

We drove by this spot and I decided to see if they had any rooms on our way back because it was tucked away in a quiet little spot. This is such a great little find. They have renovated the cabins and they a were stylish. The grounds were a little unkept, but, I can tell you this is a great spot..... We would definitely stay here again. Full kitchen, and BBQ!

Great value compared to a hotel room, Owner was very nice and helpful. The cabin was nicer than it looked in the photo which is always a good surprise. Within walking distance from "downtown". Kitchen facility was great but missing some items like measuring cups but nothing that a little estimation or foil couldn't solve.
There is a major train line that runs by the cabins, however I skied so hard during the day I slept through all but the loudest trains (like the one that leaned on the horn in the middle of the night!)
I would definitely stay again.

Hi Jill, yes they do.
6, 7, & 8. You won't get a good nights sleep in any of the cabins
