We only stayed for 1 night and were happy with our room. It was clean and very quiet. The bed was very comfortable giving us a good night's rest. The owner was friendly and made us feel welcome during our stay. Location is great for walking as the park and some shops and restaurants are located nearby.

It is surprisingly good for an older motel. The rooms are very clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The internet speeds are really good for a motel.
Everything you need at an excellent price for the Lower Mainland. Good sleep quality with no traffic noise.

We stayed at this motel last night. Overall, it wasn't bad. The room we were in had recently been renovated, so it was perfectly clean and tidy. However, there were no "extras" provided. I would have like to have had a blowdryer, an iron and some information in the room about the town of Hope and its attractions, restaurants and other things to do. And maybe a pool. We stayed in and played cards. We did eat at the adjacent restaurant.....the fish and chips for dinner were awful, but breakfast the next morning was pretty good. This motel is a pretty good place to stay if you are looking for a quick, one night stop.

The receptionist was very nice and accommodating. Our pet friendly room appeared to be well appointed, clean and the price was right. However, we awoke at 4:30 AM and found bed bugs crawling on us and on the beds. We showered and left pronto for home where we spent the rest of the day washing our clothes and sealing our luggage, shoes etc. in plastic bags to be fumigated later. Of course, our dog received a flea bath and her bed was washed in hot water. Except for the bugs, the motel was nice and well situated in the town of Hope.

Now this little place was a bargain, booked it because of the reviews on trip advisor. Its right by the 'bustling' Downtown area of Hope, apparently its Sunday everyday in Hope, I was rather worried at one point that the place had been evacuated.............
Anyway we arrived, parked right outside, the man on reception was lovely and gave us a choice of room, we decided on the second floor, so that we wouldnt have people above us, it being a wooden building and rather old.
We walked into the room and it was like stepping back in time to the 1970's, net curtains on the window, a brown bathroom suite, dinky lacey shampoo and soaps! My Mum would love it (shes 85 by the way!) It has to be seen to be believed, museums have newer furnishings on display. But it was reasonably clean, had a fridge and coffee maker and a good location and the staff, well the man, we didnt see anyone else was lovely.
again great price and you wont see any other hotels like this!
Yes I would stay again, just make sure you wear flares and an afghan coat man!

This property was our favourite pet-friendly accommodation until our last trip in January 2017. We have successfully stayed several times over the past couple years. As a BCAA discount member, the convenience of a family restaurant next door, and the proximity to the Lower Mainland (we regularly travel from Prince George, BC), the Best Continental Motel had a lot going for it. BUT, in January, the room on second floor had an odour as soon as we opened the door. We called the front desk and suggested that the communal ashtray outside the rooms air conditioning unit may have been drawing smoke into the room? We noticed our dog refused to go near one of the beds. In the morning, I woke up with bud bites on my upper arms, wrist and waistline. I did call the office once we arrived home and explained what we had experienced. I asked what their bed bug detection policy was.....I was informed they had never checked for these pests and had no policy. I would have thought that a BCAA property would be obligated to check their rooms on a regular basis in order to have the BCAA discount? Unfortunately, my husband will not consider a second change.

This is a simple, clean, friendly motel. It is in Hope (which is actually kind of scattered), but is close enough to town to walk or bicycle around. It is not far from the Fraser River.

I have traveled a lot this summer and here is what I mean by my rating system: 1: Unacceptable; 2. Acceptable, but I would stay somewhere else next time; 3. Acceptable and I would stay here again at this price point; 4. Above average and I would pay more to stay here than I paid for this trip; 5 Ridiculously fabulous. (Sometimes I think people aren't sure what other reviewers mean by their ratings.)

We stayed here just overnight in mid-June. We were very pleasantly surprised first of all by the rates (cheaper than other comparable motels in the area) and then by the owners. They were so pleasant and attentive. The lady owner (sorry, don't know their names) surprised the heck out of us when she took the time to go and check out our room just ahead of us, met us at the door of it and welcomed us. Nice touch! We travel a lot and thought this was quite professional, too! Just as others have said, the room was comfortable and quiet even though it was near a busy highway. Although I couldn't hear a word coming from any of the other guests I must say the room wasn't completely soundproof. Ugh - I could hear the person upstairs urinating into the toilet from time to time. Yikes. Solution.... kept the bathroom door shut in our room. :)

I called several motels before we left home and most were full or expensive. I chose this one as they offered a seniors rate under $100 and for a downtown motel I was pleasantly surprised to find it nicely kept up outside and inside. Older building with older furnishings but everything was clean and tidy. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful!
