I do have to agree with other visitors that towel exchange & restock of cups, ice bucket liners and trash cans would've been REALLY helpful.
We booked only 5 days ahead of travel after having to cancel a different trip and we were placed in a room on the main floor. I paid for a patio/balcony, and while we did receive a patio, the concrete outside was disgustingly dirty and the "view" was the back side of a storage facility. I could see some of the pool if I positioned my head just right while backed into a corner. But overall, everything was right as rain.
The good:
Family meal pizza was good
Room service person was very sweet
Most of the staff at stone hill were friendly and attempted to be accommodating
The room was clean
The bad:
Beds are awful, could hear the springs and creaking. Hard as a rock
Walls are incredibly thin, could hear the elderly couple’s conversation the room over perfectly clear
Could hear footsteps above like a crappy apartment
The toilet has one inch of clearance from the door-extremely cramped bathroom and shower
No over head lights, except the crappy one over the toilet (not helpful in the shower)
Booked a “balcony” room, it’s a patio.
Ice machine is all the way at the end of one entire floor so if you’re unfortunately on the wrong side, be prepared to go on a 5-10 minute trip depending on your walking speed. The halls are ridiculously long.
**I had requested a room change for noise reasons, 10 minutes after standing while the clerk stared at the puzzling room assignments and availability was told they could get me a room with no one above us and few neighbors, they’d call when it was ready......Never called. So I called to check and no one knew what I was talking about, after twenty minutes on the phone/on hold, there are no room options better than where we were stuck so moving was no longer a solution. We got vouchers for restaurants/room service but with restrictions that made most of it unusable. Appreciate the effort of the staff who offered it though.
*For the resort (across the street for the indoor water park so you’ll need to take a shuttle):*
Pretty sure there was feces in the wave pool, mentioned it to life guard and nothing was done. Definitely saw bandaid’s floating
The lines for slides are annoyingly long and be prepared for water to drop on you from above while you wait. Also witnessed a teen girl spit from the stairway above onto strangers below...so maybe not always water, enjoy that.
Too many people, this place is insanely crowded and in the event of emergency it’s the LAST place I’d want my children to be.
By the end of our first day, my kids had rashes from the water/chemicals, our feet were sore from everything being concrete, and we had spent about $100 on food & refreshments for a family of 4
The resort itself needs a good cleaning. Carpet to ceiling. Our room, while adequate, did not feel clean at all. We had a unit with a kitchen and the cabinets were gross. You could hear stickiness when opening cabinet doors likely had not been cleaned in sometime, the trash was not empty, and counter tops were sticky. The fridge had a layer of ice on the bottom shelf and the temperature control knob in the fridge was broken off (if this is an attempt to keep guests from adjusting, there are better ways). The indoor waterpark was disappointing. I expected it to compare to Great Wolf Lodge and it falls flat for sure. The food service is dreadful. Several members of my family ordered food at the bar/grill on the main floor and it took over an hour to even get nachos. When my husband ordered nachos on one occasion, it was almost 45 mins of waiting to eventually be told there were no chips left. A few family members at at the buffet and they all got sick afterwards.
In regards to Covid, there are hand sanitizer stations around the resort and many were empty for our whole stay. There was not additional cleaning happening around the resort or waterpark. I only saw someone sanitizing in the arcade once. Masks were not being enforced at all.
The best activity within the resort is the pottery painting. The lady working in there is wonderful and she was making sure to keep things sanitized. She was very helpful and her kindness was much welcome.
Our check in time was 4pm but we arrived early and was able to get an early check in time which was awesome and very helpful. At check in we got all our wrist bands and game cards for the ay center.
The resort offers 2 outdoor water park areas, 1 large indoor water park, a sky high ropes course, rock climbing, bowling, laser tag, indoor Miniature Golf, multilevel Treehouse play area, Large arcade, 18 hole Golf Course, Multiple Restaurants, Snack bars, Adult Beverage bars, Indoor/Outdoor hot tub, Free Shuttle service, Fitness center, Multiple gift shops, candy store, Frozen Yogurt shop, Starbucks, and more.
We spend the first day only using tbe water parks and nothing else. The second day we visited the indoor at area and restaurants for the kids letting them play and enjoy themselves.
You could literally stay at this facility the entire time and never leave while still having a great time. Of course we still visited downtown Gatlinburg in the evening and a few other local attractions. Everything was really close and easy to find. If your staying a while they even have a fourth water park right next door with over 30 outdoor super rides and attractions at a really great discounted price for hotel guests. Wilderness at the Smokies was a really fun time and my kids enjoyed every moment. Recommend buying all you can drink wrist bands for your stay and they even have locker rentals at the water park facilities to store your valuables and clothes. We had so much fun that w already decided we'll be back Beck before school resumes for another trip this summer.
"Do not eat at the restaurants onsite, none are that good. The water parks are the only things that we really enjoyed during our stay. "Read full review

"Arcade is half in the morning before 10. Passes get you access to most of the stuff in the arcade area. Slides are less busy in the mornings"Read full review
