Detailed Reviews
Ross B wrote a review Aug 2014
We stayed here for 5 nights in July this year and have nothing but good things to say. I was a bit apprehensive after reading some of the reviews, but was pleasantly surprised. We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit on the second floor, that had been renovated not too long ago, and was clean, comfortable and reasonable. The staff and owner were always friendly, stopping to chat or ask if we had any concerns, which was nice compared to some of the reviews I had read. The beach area is small but has a very nice patio area to just laze around on. Our kids and us made the most of it, and the beach although small, was private, which made it really nice, that and it was a 10 second walk to our room.

Would I stay again?, absolutely I would. Just don't go there expecting the Watermark resort, its an old 60s motel that looks dated on the outside, but our two bedroom suite was just fine. The only issue the entire time was the iffy wifi, as we were located a long ways from the router. Other than that, no issues at all.

We stayed four nights and had booked a room for 3. We had been told that all rooms overlooked the lake. When we arrived we were given a room at the back, facing the car park. It was small and shabby. We upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite and this was really lovely, but of course more expensive. We were able to cook and eat outside the room, which would not have been possible at the other side. Quieter than the motels at the other side of the road, maybe less suitable for children. Ideal for people like us looking for a peaceful setting.

This is an older, reasonably maintained small property with a great waterfront location away from the crowds on the other side of the main street/strip. A good value with the right expectations.

Several rooms are newly-renovated apartment style, and some are older humbler vintage style. (By "vintage" I don't mean trendy at all, this is by no means a boutique hotel! I mean simpler motel style rooms, with older not always matching furnishings.) The lady who owns it was very hospitable and the managing couple seemed nice too.

Although little street appeal driving into the front parking area of the motel, the patio/deck/dock on the other side of the building is very nice and right at the lake edge, with a great view.

I would recommend calling in person before booking, to be sure you understand exactly what you're booking, so no feelings of being misled. We saw a wide variety of room layouts thru doors open for cleaning, some refurbished and some not.

Great customer service start to finish. We were there off season and price was excellent for a two bed room with fridge and microwave. Location Location Location our suite 12 was right on the beach and we enjoyed this view with every opportunity and loved the ducks. Nice dock on private beach. the bed was comfy as well as the pillows and all our needs were met if there was anything we asked for. there is a BBQs available and good lounging area with other friendly guests. This is an older property but it was also charming and we loved it for sure it was close to the walking area and picnic area near the fountain on main road and short walk to store....dont hesitate great 3 day stay.

Sam and Dan are fabulous hosts. Anna is a wonderful asset to their team. They are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are clean, the beach is fabulous and the staff are wonderful. We don't tell many people about this place because we are afraid it will get too busy and we won't get a room next year! lol

back for our second stay and this time another day longer. same suite number 12 still has the best view and feel of privacy. everything from my last review remains the same this is going to be a repeat place for us. Comfy bed with nice scenery and other friendly guests as well as off season price of 69.00 plus tax cant be beat. Yes its a dated property but we are not fussy and its perfectly fine for us. we ventured out to the less windy side of Haynes point, to rock creek and Silkameen valley as well as oliver but loved lounging the first 2 hot days making trips to the bakery to savor back at the motel. last 2 days windy but died down enough to have our last meal on the nice table and chairs at waters edge. Love this place will be back again

We have been going to Osoyoos for the last 2 years and plan to return again this winter. The Sun Beach Motel is our place to stay. The building is dated but clean. The suites are well stocked with all your kitchen needs. The managers are friendly and accommodating.
There is nothing better than having your morning coffee sitting out on the deck looking at the beautiful Osoyoos Lake and watching the coots and ducks on the water or the eagles in the sky.
This isn’t the prettiest looking place in town, but is a great quaint place to stay.
I look forward to returning in October and seeing old friends at the Sun Beach.

I love Osoyoos .This summer will be my 5th visit. Same room every year for last 5 years. Motel is outdated but clean with everything what you need . Ac is working great during hot nights .Private beach and beautiful courtyard for guest are beet all those fancy hotels. No mention fantastic hosts Sam and Dan. I feel like coming to family summer cottage not motel. Highly recommended . Close distance to center and all shop is very convenient . There is also new coffee shop on the back of motel where you can try delicious iced mocha .

Sun beach Motel was perfect for our needs. Minutes away from all we needed and right on the lake. Rooms were older but very clean and beds were comfortable. Sam and Don whom run the motel were so kind and very accommodating. We decided to
Stay a extra day and they were able to do this for us.
Lots of bbq’s and eating areas and the views and sunsets were spectacular . Price is right.

I have stayed numerous times now and spent almost 2 weeks alone at the beginning of June. Weather was fantastic! Sam & Dan are so special and really go out of their way to accommodate you. Yes, it's a little rustic but I find that just adds to the charm! I pretty much had the place to myself which was nice for me! The location to town and walking distance to restaurants etc. is lovely. The beach, although small is so nice because it's private and not open to the public. They are very strict with their Covid rules and regulations, which is important to me. For a budget traveller this place is ideal!

I hope that you've had a great summer Sam & Dan, even with the fires! I will be seeing you very soon!
