Good place. We stayed in 2 bedroom suites with kitchen. Outdated room but clean. Great service at front desk. Breakfast is basic for to go. Muffin, cookies, fruit, juice, coffee, tea. Location is near Capilano Suspension Bridge. Short distance to many restaurants.

This hotel is good for a one or two night stay. It is very basic. But excellent value.
Our room came with a king size bed (firm but comfortable), tv and small kitchenette.which had a microwave, fridge, stove, pots, and pans, and dishes but no cutlery. There is no coffee maker.

IF you are going to stay here because you get a free breakfast. Please note you fill out a form asking you what your would like. Not a lot of selection. And you do not get alot. Choose between a muffin OR granola bar. OR Yogurt, OR cereal. Milk or Juice. But not all of them. You pick the brown bagged breakfast up in the morning. Or request to have it delivered to your room.
I am sure the breakfast is much better when COVID was not around. So they do the best they can.
Basic bathroom, but does have a bath , which is rare in hotels these days.
The shower head is a little low though. But ok for shorter folks.
There are good restaurants around.

But all in all it was a good place to stay .

Friendly helpful staff. Popular location. Lots of workers staying here. Clean rooms. Close to stores for snacks and close to some restaurants. Easy access to go into downtown Vancouver plus close to the freeway which gets you to a ferry or head east.

We were excited for our stay that would be the first night of our trip. The price was right but in the end, the hassle made us quickly regret this booking. We arrived around 12:30 am after a lot of travel and were told our room was cancelled and there were none available. The rationale was that the credit card on file was ran through at 11:40 pm and declined (although has worked fine before and after this event). But, they therefore cancelled the room and gave it to someone else for over 100$ more than we paid. No call or email, which would have rectified the situation in one minute, as we could have asked them to try the card again or given a different card. Or at the very least, we would have found somewhere to stay closer to the airport (rather than taking a sky train and an Uber to North Vancouver) if they had notified us that the room was cancelled. I had also called 3 days before our stay informing of a late check in and the gentleman insisted it would be completely fine, he did take my name but the person at check in claimed to be unaware of this. Do not recommend booking this place unless you want to end up with your booking cancelled for reasons out of your control.

Dear Cassie, Thank you for taking the time to complete our online survey regarding your recent stay at our hotel. On behalf of our entire team, I would like to apologize for failing to exceed your expectations. I am sorry we cancelled your reservation but we do require a valid method of payment to keep a reservation. The night auditor waited until after midnight to cancel your reservation. When you came to check-in, the room was still available and we did not changed the rate but your credit card declined at the hotel as well. You only had cash but as per our hotel policy we do not accept cash at check-in, like most hotels in the area. This policy is written on our website: "A valid credit card is required upon check-in for all reservations." The night auditor then called several hotels and was able to find you a room in a hotel that is accepting cash payment. The hotel was only a short walk from our hotel. Again, I am very sorry about that experience. I hope that you will consider staying with us again so that we can have another chance to provide you with a superior experience. Sincerely, Angelique Le Cossec Guest Services Manager Econolodge Inn and Suites North Vancouver

We arrived at this hotel just after midnight. I had read the other review of them not holding other folks reservations so we were sure to inform them of a late arrival after a long day of travel. My husband went in with our credit card and returned shortly after being told our credit card did not work. The room had been reserved with the same credit card through hotels.com and would have been billed on that card irrespective of our arrival. I subsequently went in and requested the night clerk try it again, knowing the card was functioning. At first he was very resistant saying he tried it on both machines but at my insistence tried it again and it worked perfectly fine as it has everywhere else on this trip. The room had a slight odor and was a bit older. They apparently place a security deposit on your credit card for around $150 Canadian but the furniture in the room needs refreshing. The security guard was very nice.

Our stay was the worst! In fact we asked to check out the moment we got to our room. The front desk person was unprofessional and downright rude. I was shocked by her manner, but it says a lot about how the place is run. She was not just this way with me, but all the guest interactions I saw. I was told we could check out, but would be charged for the night's stay regardless. In a different country, in a town unfamiliar with and late at night we were put in an unfortunate position of staying put. The next day we checked out and stayed at the most marvelous hotel by the convention center instead. The location of this place, while close to Capilano Bridge is not convenient especially if you don't have a car. There is no benefit to staying here at such a filthy and run down place regardless of whatever "deal" is being offered. Plus as I mentioned before the front desk staff are some of the worst I have encountered. This "hotel/motel" needs a complete renovation. Instead it seems every time it's sold and changes hands there is minimal work done so instead the rooms look in the midst of construction. Any repairs or whatever look to be done by someone with no clue how to do it.

Also the "free" breakfast is non-existent. A bunch of plastic wrapped junk to take with you. I don't even remember if they had coffee.

I will post some photos of what this s&*t hole really looks like instead of any "professional" photos provided by the place.

For the discount price in off season, this is a bargain. Yes, older and a bit worn, but clean and the staff is very accommodating and helpful. Will stay here again. Larger size rooms, 2 TV's. Added touch is the free breakfast that you preorder the night before.

This hotel is starting to show its age. Room had a smell to it, sort of mildew musky. Needs a complete deep clean , behind toilets. appliances, walls ceilings and furniture. Prime location for development, hope it stays operating as big money talks. Staff seems pleasant with decent coffee and juice in lobby. Parking was tight but safe.
Cheers John

From the first time I phoned to reserve our room to the time we checked out we received the Royal treatment. Absolutely all staff were very friendly and were more than happy to accommodate our needs. The room was perfect, the microwave delivered promptly, directions to the hospital given as well as other businesses of interest. We ordered pizza for delivery to our suite from Papa Johns and even IT was excellent. Can't comment on whether it was noisy or not because I always bring ear plugs no matter where we go. Interesting factoid: Looking on the web it comes up as Comfort Inn so it went through a name change apparently. This motel would be our first choice when needing accommodation in North Vancouver.
