Just home from a long weekend at Critter Cove and had an amazing time. It was my 6 year olds first fishing experience and everyone went above and beyond to make sure he had a fabulous time both on and off the water. My son and his friend played for hours catching little fish off the dock when we weren't out trolling. We had rain on our first day but our room was heated and we were able to go in for a hot shower so the rain didn't slow us down. The beds were really comfortable and the property was quiet so we had no trouble resting after a long day of playing. A family run business with people who genuinely care that you are having the best stay. We brought home some beautiful fish and plenty of humpback photos. A great place to take in the scenery and catch a view of the stars. Loved everything about it.

Having done the guided boat program, it was nice to find a wonderful floating lodge where we could bring our own boat. Right at the entrance to Nootka Sound, the floating cabin lodge rooms were perfect. Slept 3 adults in separate beds, full bathroom, little kitchenette (bar fridge, sink, counter), dining table, outdoor seats (2), and a picnic table. Perfect. As per Cam's (Owner) recommendation, we brought a 10x10 tent to protect us from the sun...and rain. Was appreciated. The staff are amazing and a wonderful group of young people. Cam and his family are perfect hosts. They love what they have created and it clearly shows. All the other guests we met have been coming for years, and some decades. Can't wait for 2022 as we'll be back.

The three of us (all seniors) booked two cabins that were perfect: clean and steps away from our boat. We set up a canopy over the picnic table for cooking. Access to a convenient gas dock, 18 km from the nearest dock was a real plus. Daily fishing tips and conditions were extremely helpful and gladly given. It is truly a special place. We have booked three trips for 2022.

Cc is great but the owner is toxic to his own place. B.C has its own way of life and part of that life is being able to consume cannabis legally and medically. Even with proof of medical documentation the owner wasn't having it. The staff, fishing and area was great but good staff can only last so long with a toxic owner. Bad energy equals bad business and to spend that kind of money I'll definitely be going elsewhere now.

CC is in a great location for fishing. Rooms are adequate, food service rudimentary. Be prepared to bring your own dinner stuff and cooking gear. Staff, for the most part are very friendly. The owner, on the other hand is a real piece of work. Has created crazy rules…e.g. not allowed to leave the area in front of your unit for any kind of socialization. The “Welcome(?)” email we received pre arrival indicated this would be strictly enforced. No trading fish stories for you!
Anyway, after what should have been a minor misunderstanding over moorage blew up over the owner’s aggressive tone, our group has been permanently banned.
Moral of the story…don’t get on the wrong side of the owner.

Critter Cove is a great place, the staff was great, however the owner was a very rude and mean person. He made the place undesirable to ever return. He also has ridiculous rules with no common sense to them.

First of all BC is beautiful and we greatly enjoyed the area. However our experience was ruined by the owner or manager idk. My wife and I are prescribed medicinal marijuana and the owner doesn't understand that we can legally smoke it. We paid good money to dock here and we were treated like total garbage. I would give it zero stars if I could! Please don't give people like this your money. In today's day and age we are about acceptance and I felt accepted nor welcome here! Hope you all enjoyed the tunes!

Had a great stay in one of the Beach Houses at Critter Cove. Was my first time returning to Nootka Sound in 16 years and was warmly welcomed by the Forbes family. Fantastic location right next to some of the best fishing spots. Cabin was clean and spacious, food was good, store had anything we needed and the staff were very friendly and professional. Looking forward to the next trip!

Owner needs to just stay away n keep his energy somewhere else. Staff was respectable but owner living in the 1st century. If this was 420 friendly I’d probably come here way more. Taking this biz somewhere else 🙄

Critter Cove was an once in a lifetime bucket list experience for us! True to life ocean fishing adventure, it surpassed all our expectations. The chalet was amazing - the beds were sublime! Everything you need for your comfort! There really aren't enough words for this - 10 out of 10 would definitely recommend and do again!
