Good for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Really pleased with the quality of the stay for the price. Our room was small but the high ceilings and white floor and paint made if feel less cramped. Plenty of storage. The AC is so nice to have as I am used to always having it at home. The bathroom has full sized shampoo, conditioner, and body wash to use.
The Mojo Market was a fun place to get dinner. Lots of locals and tourists all in one spot and there is something for everyone- including vegetarians and vegans! The microphones for the live music are very loud, you've been warned.

The management of this hotel is unrelenting and unprofessional when it comes to adhering to and honoring its own cancellation policy!! No where does it state that Vouchers would be given instead of the percentage of cash of the downpayment customers make. Workers at the front desk are friendly and helpful, but if one must cancel for emergency reasons such as Corona, and even within the time stated in their own policy, Management refuses to make a cash reimbursement according to their policy. I was a guest in 2018 and had reserved again for December 2021. I cancelled in October of 2021 because S.A.was on Germany's restricted countries list, plus I am severely handicapped with COPD. The virus would have been deadly for me. Future in advance paying guests should be warned that no part of their prepayment will be reimbursed should they must cancel reservation for any emergency. A paper voucher will be offered instead of their cash even when cancelling according to the own policy.

South Africa I especially fell in love with Cape Town, its culture, its people, its beautiful landscapes, its essence will always remain in my heart. I had the privilege of staying in the best Hotels in Cape Town called the Hoteleria (5 stars) but they have nothing for service. For me this hotel is 10 stars its staff, its manager welcomed me with open arms and I feel like family. soon I will return to my beautiful country Colombia. So if you want to stay in a wonderful place, with affordable pressure for any type of client: business, couple, family or just this is the ideal place. ahhh and its location the best is close to the mine where you can exercise, ride a bike, also on its first floor you will find a variety of restaurants. rather this hotel is a gem in the heart of Cape Town. I hope to come back some day. lots of hugs and kisses to my front desk friends, general service girls and their manager.

Hotel does not manage guest noise level after hours so if you are planning on getting even just 4 hours of peaceful sleep this is not the place. Travellers arrive and depart at all hours . Currently there is construction downstairs inside the food market but the hotel did not disclose this and placed us directly above it , so no chance to catch 40 winks from 7am onwards. Agoda does not show the full and final price so be very aware if using this platform to book . The location suits our need for restaurants , close proximity to the beach and easy access to the sightseeing bus but nevertheless it is not conducive or worth the price for the reasons given so I won’t be returning.

MoJo Hotel is a very reasonably priced hotel In the heart of Sea Point directly above the Mo Jo Market which is an awesome dining venue with many great dining options and fantastic live music … in my opinion a must visit …
We even had a room with great view over the sea point pools and ocean ….
The room was a very nice size offered self catering option, was clean and had a nice bathroom area.
They also have off street onsite parking which is a big win
However the down side of this property, possibly explains why it is so reasonably priced ….
1. Very noisy, the neighbours were very loud and noisy 24/7 at both sides and this was made worse by the fact that we shared a balcony separated by only a screen. Despite the music from below going on til quite late it was nowhere near as bad as the noise from the neighbours 2. The aircon was placed high on the ceiling and never worked properly and with load shedding the room was very hot and sleeping became tricky, in fact the upstairs room was almost a bit too hot to sleep in 3. Smoking is allowed on balconies and the cigarette and other smoke was regularly wafting into our room making it quite unpleasant and we were unable to leave the patio door and windows open to get any fresh air 4. Our TV didn’t work and no one bothered coming to fix it 5.. The lift is a pain and very slow, there is only one lift and service staff from all over are constantly using it. 6. The property has no pool or other facilities, but is above the wonderful MO JO market
I would definitely recommend it for young carefree travellers and suggest that older travelers look for a quieter alternative

I had the terrasse room where you have access to the big shared terrasse with seating area to enjoy sun and drinks. Room was clean with bed, shower and toilet+sink. Very tiny, but great for a short stay. Underneath the hotel you find the Mojo market with lots of food options from all over the world. The red bus hop on hop off tour is 3 walking minutes away, as well as the beach. Can be loud at night as the bar's and live music they offer are hearable in the rooms (was not a problem for me).
Enjoy your (inexpensive) stay. Greetings from Austria, Europe Bettina

We stayed at Mojo for 3 days. As a mix between a hotel and a dorm, I did not expect much, however I was proven wrong. The room we stayed in was very small and compact, however the fact that it was on the roof and you can enjoy excellent views of the mountain and sea point depending where you are, it did not feel small in the end. The room had a small fridge and coffee facilities which was handy. Everything was clean and working. The linen was decent and the bed was very comfortable. The reception was friendly and very helpful. Don’t miss out on the Mojo market, we found everything we wanted just there and was spoilt for choice on food and drink.

Book this place at your own risk. We were on a cruise scheduled to visit S Africa in April. We had planned on leaving the ship in Durban to go on a safari, then fly to Capetown for two nights before rejoining the cruise. The cruise ended up being canceled in Australia. I contacted Mojo more than a month prior to our arrival to request a refund of the deposit we had paid. In a nutshell, they refused, despite the whole of S Africa being in a state of lockdown. I could find nothing in their booking terms about cancellations. They were adamant, despite several e mails, that they would not refund the deposit. To add insult to injury they then charged the balance to my credit card. Again I e mailed them. They admitted their mistake, but now, two weeks later I’m still waiting for my refund. Today I will put it into the hands of my credit card company as a disputed charge. Their inefficiency is only equalled by their lack of customer service. Stay away, I’m sure there are better places to stay in Capetown.

This was undoubtedly the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had in my life. I would recommend this to backpackers who enjoy partying every night but not to those looking for a family holiday. I went on this trip with my family, we were in total a group of 8. The double room I was in was extremely small and you can look straight into the shower even with the doors closed. Another prominent issue is the constant noise from the street and music from market below that starts at around 9am and continues all day until the early hours of the morning. Furthermore, the hallways constantly smelt of weed. The hotel overall also has very poor maintenance as the other 2 groups within my family both had to be moved to different rooms due to the fact that the air conditioners were not functioning. Once everyone’s rooms had been changed around and we had finally settled in, we noticed the lack of towels. When a family member went to reception asking for more towels as we were 6 people in 1 room with only 2 towels, she was told that they did not have enough and had to go to other rooms with a member of staff and take towels from there. On top of that the hotel clearly does not keep track of which guests are in each room. My aunt and her family walked into their room one evening only to see another woman sitting in the room at their table. She had been told their room was a dorm and so didn’t think anything of their bags and items. The next day after the lady had been moved out of their room my aunt had been told they needed to be moved to a different room for their final night as someone else had booked their room. They were then given the keycard to MY room as the staff did not know/care that the room was unavailable. My aunt had to inform them that we were in that room before being moved again. Overall I did not sleep the entire week as I could literally feel the base of the music from down below through my bed and do not recommend to anyone even if it is cheap it’s just not worth it. Never ever will go there again in my life.

I rely so much on reviews when booking accommodation so feel I have to contribute to improve someone else's experience...
I stayed here on Tuesday 17 Jan. I arrived after 21h00 so I only settled into my room after 22h00. The TV did not work (they promise netflix in the room), I could not find the aircon remote (there were no instructions on how to use it), and there was no hot water. I notified reception at 22h41 via whatsapp but no response, they haven't responded since. I gave the shower a go in the morning again but it was still cold.
I realise this is affordable 'budget' accommodation but I feel hot water is the bare minimum they should provide for their guests.
I often travel to Cape Town alone for work and was really hoping that this would work out as it ticks all the boxes for a short stay, but unfortunately I won't be returning. I did not get what I paid for.

We booked a family room which had a double and 3 singles. We then move the single mattress to the loft and our 3 kids had the loft space and we had the double. It worked really well as there is plenty of space.
Good location too and the markets underneath were very handy for meals and snacks.

Dear Brianna,
Mojo does offer high quality hair dryers and air conditioning in all our rooms for added convenience. Should you need any assistance or have any further questions, we would be happy to assist.
