Service at the counter was good. Smell in the room was stagnant. wifi is non existent, could not connect, when I complained to lobby they said that the lobby was working fine so they could not do anything about it. Information in booklet does not match what is available. Breakfast available but not included in room price. Overpriced for what you get.

The outside looks a little older at first glance, but the rooms have obviously been recently updated and are quite nice. Our room had a mini fridge. Everything, and particularly the bathrooms, was spotlessly clean. The restaurant serves breakfast and lunch. It was a 5-minute walk to a wonderful walking trail along the St. Lawrence River. There were picnic tables and Adirondack chairs outside the hotel to enjoy the view and the sunset. If I could offer one thing to improve on, it would be the pillows, which were firm and a bit thin. All in all, very good value for the money and a wonderful location.

This hotel has a lot of positives: Room was large, comfortable, clean with good WIFI. Bed is comfortable and bathroom well stocked with towels. There is no coffee service in the room and pillow was thin. I used decorative pillow to prop it up. The experience is definitely better than a chain hotel and we plan to return on our next trip down east.

I booked it mainly for the price and location. I wasn’t expecting much. But it was very good. The room was clean, and everything worked well. The wifi was perfect. Plus the restaurant next door was very good. It was close to the highway to head out quickly the next day.

Look it's not the Ritz but they welcome us with our cats on the way to and from Toronto and PEI. They are friendly, speak English and are VERY clean. Having the restaurant attached with good comfort food is a huge plus when you don't want to go far from your pets. We had a great meal (creme brûlée was delicious) and it was very reasonable. The beds were comfortable and the place was quiet. And it's halfway between PEI and Toronto. We will stop every trip. Highly recommend as a pet friendly stop-over. The only thing I'd like improved is that the pet friendly rooms only come with 2 double beds and we would prefer a king or a queen bed but that's no big deal. You can park right outside your room which is great for getting your pet(s) in and out and they had laminate flooring which was nicer than dingy carpeting we've experienced at other pet friendly hotels. Our room had a door to the outside parking lot and also a door to the interior hallway of the hotel which was great to use so we didn't have to worry one of our cats would get loose outside if it tried to run out when we opened the door. The hotel is very conveniently located in that it's right off the highway and it has a rural feel to go for a little walk to stretch your legs after a long drive. We were very happy and thought the rates were quite reasonable.

I was quite please with my stay at Cap Martin. Yes, the rooms are older with not many modification, but they are incredibly clean and comfortable. Not the place to go if you are looking for a posh experience, but if you are looking for an economical, clean family hotel, I recommend Cap Martin.

Their restaurant has many home-made selections. It is a bit pricey but the food is wonderful. The have an impressive wine list. We did have a slight language barrier but our server did her best to accommodate our lack of French vocabulary.

Good place to stay when traveling from Ontario to the Maritimes.

Food is disgusting, cold and greasy, waitresses and waiter are rude and incompetent, we had to wait half an hour for our breakfast, and we were the only customers in the restaurant. Now I know why.
Rooms are cold, the heating system didn't work, we had to change rooms, and the person at the front desk didn't want to!!! He told us that it was gonna ''work soon'' and to be patient. But after an hour, we just told him that it's that or we leave right away. And we finally got a room, where the heater worked.
Rooms are poorly furnished, clean, and that's it.

Carleton Place, Canada
We were driving across Quebec, and needed a place to stay for the night. The hotel is right next to the TransCanada highway, so it is conveniently placed. From the outside, this hotel appears quite attractive.
We were given a room for the night which cost $94.00 Canadian with tax. On entering our room, we were unimpressed with the decor. The rug is a particularly ugly utilitarian indoor-outdoor carpet of the sort one associates with outdoor patios. The furniture is out-dated and basic. At this point however, I would still have given the room 3 stars as it was clean and met our needs.
Then I entered the bathroom...... the bathroom floor was a lake! Water was everywhere and was in pools also all over the toilet. It looked as though a large flood had occurred from the ceiling. Both my husband and I looked up at the ceiling but could see no hint of where the water had originated. However, the bathroom was awash with it.
I called the front desk. Within a few minutes, a person (manager?) appeared with an armload of towels. On entering the bathroom he did what we did - looked up at the ceiling in bafflement - but then his solution was to start scattering fluffy towels all over the floor of the bathroom. Once our bathroom floor was covered a soggy layer of towels, the man asked us if the problem was solved. I pointed out that we had paid $94 for a room, and to be asked to climb around on a soggy pile of towels seemed a bit much, not to mention that the toilet was still covered with pools of water. The man informed us that there were no other rooms left in the hotel (this despite the fact that there were very few cars in the parking lot. I said that we could get our money back in that case. The man left.
My husband began carrying our luggage back out to the car and I went down to the front desk and reiterated my desire to get our money back and find a new hotel. Well, suddenly there was another room for us! Call me cynical, but I feel that they had a room all along, but wanted to try to force us to stay in the room we were in. Once I held firm on getting our money back, miraculously they had another room. Well, asking someone to stay in a room with piles of soggy towels to traipse over, not to mention to have to mop down the toilet ourselves .... that is just lousy service.
Anyway, my husband got all the suitcases back out of the car...again... and we moved to another room. This other room was bigger, nicer, and did NOT have a lake in the bathroom. But the whole incident left me feeling cranky towards Hotel Cap Martin.

My boyfriend and I stayed one night about 2 weeks ago, on our way back to NS from Montreal. Are we ever glad we did, We decided we're always going to stay there when we drive home from Montreal. We couldn't get over how clean the hotel was- the hallways, the room, the bathroom, the bedspread- it was so incredibly clean. I loved the ambience of the lobby and bar, I felt like I was in Great Britain.
The breakfast was phenomenal. The menu was really impressive.

Ontario,
We recently stayed at the Hotel Cap Martin twice during a trip from Ontario to Prince Edward Island. There were three reasons we chose this property: it is dog friendly, it is located slightly more than halfway between our home in Ontario and PEI, and the reviews it had earned on trip advisor.

The Cap did not disappoint. Our room was basic, but very clean. (We had the same room both stays.) Surprisingly, there were numerous English language channels available on the cable TV.

The Cap is just off the Trans-Canada highway providing easy access to travellers. Additionally, it is surrounded by fields on two sides ... a great place to walk one's pet.

A unique feature of the Cap is that access to a biking/walking trail which fronts the St. Lawrence river is only 1 km. away.

While we speak french, it was clear that if one was unable or unwilling to "parlez francais", the front desk employees and wait staff in the restaurant were more than capable of accomodating you.

The restaurant at the Cap provides excellent value for the price. Dinner, a bottle of wine, a drink and 15% tip included totalled $105 or less. More importantly, the quality of the food, particularly the seafood offerings, were very, very good.

For travellers looking for a stopover on their journey, or even a few days rest, the Cap Martin deserves one's consideration. We will use it again the next time we head east.
