We were spending a few days on Fraser Island and stayed before and after our trip at Boat Harbour Resort.
The place is an older style but is clean, tidy and well appointed. The gentleman in the office was very welcoming and helpful. He walked us down to our room and gave us a map of the area to help us decide what things to go and see. You also have a designated undercover parking space for your car.
The beach across the road is lovely, particularly at high tide. Nice place to have a walk after travelling all day.
The bed was comfortable and the water pressure was great. There was a two burner stove, fridge,a microwave, toaster, cutlery, crockery and cooking gear. There is also a nice table and chairs on your own small verandah. There is a really nice pool and bbq area as well.
So overall we found it ticked all the boxes for value for money, location, and sleep quality.

We were heading over to K’gari for a couple of days and stayed at Boat Harbour Apartments the night before and again on our return.
The rooms have been refurbished since our last visit and are very nice, clean and well appointed.
The owner was so nice, he unlocked our room for us as we were coming back after hours. We also had a lovely swim in the pool.

Room Tip: Undercover parking is a little tight. You just have to let the passenger out first.

in hervey(pronounced:"harvey")bay the tourist is the holy grail-maybe its because the town/city of 50,000 is totally uninteresting unless you use it as a departure point for fraser island(worlds largest sand island) or close encounters with whales during the months of august thru october.overnight accomodation thus becomes critical and the modern apartments provided by boat harbour resort are well situated to fill your requirements at an economical price.i was able to purchase a full kitchen double bedded plus single with frig and air conditioning through wotif early november for A$86 a night.the swimming pool was clean and enjoyable and the location opposite the great sandy straits was only 400 meters from the wharf for fraser island and the boat slots club which ran a free pick up and drop back mini bus service which proved very handy for those evening meals i did not cook..managment were always helpfull ,especially arranging tours-the kingfisher bay fraser tour picks you up at 6.15 am-drops you back at 6pm HIGHLY RECOMMENDED,and if you eat at rsl slots club they also pick you up and you can do limited shopping at coles supermarket before they bring you back.feel like a half day fishing trip for A$55? managment will arrange that and they have a barbecue near their swimming pool.airport transfers are A$5 and a limo to take you(one way) anywhere in hervey bay is a paltryA$9...

2 Villas & studio booked. Dog friendly villa lacked access to bare/shameless yard. Plank missing on deck, more coming loose. Light bulbs missing, frig needs defrosting, ashy ashtrays, old and tired. Manager disinterested in concerns, talked over me. Booking confirmations and checkin poor. Won’t return or recommend.

The manager is nothing short of rude, unfriendly and arrogant. Stay elsewhere if you are after a relaxing, nice, peaceful holiday. There are plenty of more welcoming places nearby at better rates too.

I stayed here for 2 nights with my husband and son and really wish we could have stayed longer. it is really convenient for the airport to get flights to Lady Elliott and also close to the Fraser Island barge. The room was spacious and well equipped with a nice balcony. Unfortunately we were only there in the dark due to our frantic schedule! We loved the Christmas tree on the stairs and the local area looked nice. The wifi needs improving but other than that it was perfect!

Thanks for your review Summerhols101. I'm glad you liked our Christmas tree and our resort overall. We are constantly working to improve the Wi-Fi and Telstra assures us that the NBN will fix all our problems in 2018, until then we will continue to look for ways to improve it.

The Boat Harbour resort was our base for a week at Hervey Bay. The staff were friendly and helpful and helped book our Whale Watch and Fraser Island tours. The units are spacious and well set out, although sleep ins were not on the cards due the high windows letting in the early morning sun. The room we had had a lock up garage which was great as my hubby had his bike with us. Being at the southern end of the Hervey Bay area it was a easy trip into Maryborough to explore that area for the open house. The beach was just a short walk across the road and the Boat Harbour area with the Whale watching boats and restraunts were not too far away.

What can one expect for $110 a night? A basic room, with a small bathroom and no view. But the room was very clean and tidy and the location was generally very quiet (apart from a cane toad that croaked occasionally) ... but too isolated for me.

Personally, I think you need a car if you are going to stay here. It's a little further to the Marina then it looks on a map, as the Hervey Bay Boat Club and other shops etc are at the northern (far) end, so it's a 1km walk, and there is no footpath / trail and it's very taxing in the heat and humidity.

Stayed here for three nights in September 2011. Arrived very early but Robin allowed us into our cabin well before the 2pm stated time. Great location, close to the harbour - 5 mins walk max. Clean and tidy cabin on a quiet, small well looked after complex. Would recommend most highly.

We had a short, one night stay here in early November. Good location if you are getting the boat to Fraser Island, the marina is about 5 minutes walk.

We had a very large room which was clean and tidy. Good sized bed and more than adequate facilities. Air-conditioning was hugely appreciated. We were only here a few hours but the pool looked ok and they were building another one.

No complaints at all. Staff were very helpful when we checked in.
