From staff to the room to the overall hotel atmosphere the experience was lovely! Clean, bright, fresh and friendly. The staff also followed Covid guidelines, having seals on the sanitized rooms and plexi-glass for reception. Definitely would come back!

We stayed at the Hilton Garden Ottawa Downtown for 3 nights while in town to visit my daughter and watch the PWHPA Hockey tournament in Nepean. I’ve stayed here before and really like the hotel and it’s amenities.
Location is excellent to get around from. Parking is slightly expensive ($25 a day) but the underground is clean and safe and easily accessible. Our room was clean and well appointed; we travel with a dog and the room is totally perfect for allowing him to have a space too.
We had a night “in” and ordered room service from the restaurant in the lobby (Tulip) and it was excellent!! The order was correct and delivered right to our door in a timely manner! We will definitely order up again during our next stay!!
My only criticism is that the dishes sat outside our door until Monday morning when we checked out. (As did other dishes on our floor from other rooms). I realise that rooms are not cleaned daily due to covid right now but the public areas on each floor should be done daily.
This is not our first visit to this hotel and it won’t be our last … thanx for making us feel at home Hilton Garden!!

This stay was supposed to be a romantic getaway over New Years, and I had hopeful expectations since the hotel had good ratings. My hopes were shattered and it only went downhill from there.
I was already surprised there was no breakfast included in the standard rate for the room. In addition, as I walked in to the room there was no safe, kettle, slippers, water (only if you wanted to pay $2/bottle for a tiny Eska water), bathrobes (even though there was a pool in the hotel).
We asked for a few of these items to be delivered to our room and it took around 30 minutes to get it delivered. Shocking.
The walls aren't soundproof as we could hear our neighbours next door talking in their room.
On top of that we complained twice, once during our stay and once as we checked out. The concierge said they would look in to it, but we never heard back.
Stay away. Never coming back here again.

Nice hotel with lots of space in the room - comfortable bed. The restaurant/bar downstairs was perfect for meeting with colleagues. Breakfast downstairs was free and better quality than your normal “free breakfast” Best part of hotel was true walking distance to parliment in under 10mins. Close to other restaurants and pubs as well. It’s on the other end of the downtown area, a little farther away than some hotels but for the difference in price it’s definitely worth it. Lots of MP’s stay here while the house is sitting.

We were very pleased with the central location of this hotel for visiting the various attractions in Ottawa. Most of the attractions were walkable within 15 minutes. Further attractions requiring a bus were easy to get to as the bus and Line 1 tram stops we needed were across the road ($3 in coins/ for seniors). We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. Our comfortable room on the 7th floor had a very good view towards the War Museum and the Ottawa River. If we visited Ottawa again we would certainly use this hotel.
There were no surprises with our room as it was similar to other Hilton hotel rooms we have used. The room was very comfortable with open shelves in the closet for storing clothes rather than dresser draws. There was a range of TV stations, even one channel for Parliamentary sessions, and, of course, WIFI was free. The room's safe is at floor level! We did like having a microwave and a small fridge in the room. A convenience store was a block away on Albert Street for milk to go along with the oatmeal packets we had brought along as well as our own coffee cups and spoons. The room just has paper cups and wood stir sticks. The bathroom had those squeezable bottles for body gel, shampoo, and hand lotion, but one can ask for a bar of soap. We were too busy sightseeing to use the pool. There were computers for use in the business area. Staff helped us in printing out our boarding passes and in ringing a cab for us.
Breakfast is like those in hotels that offer a free breakfast with the room, but at this Hilton there is a $20 charge. We did use the Tulip Cafe for dinners though. Expect to pay $20-$30 without drinks. We enjoyed their soups, salads and sandwiches especially. There is a Tim Hortons (closed after 5pm) across the street on Queens and a wonderful bistro called, Occo, on Bay street which we used too. Otherwise, there are no cafes or shops nearby. The Lyon West station building across the road from the hotel was under construction so in the future there may be eateries in that building. The buildings on the streets leading to downtown are office buildings and if there is a food center in them they close at 5pm if not earlier. There is a small selection of pubs/cafes on pedestrian Sparks Street from Bank to Elgin Street - about a 12-15 minute walk from the hotel and a few other choices around the Hotel Laurier area.
The hotel area is very quiet considering one is just at the edge of downtown Ottawa. We enjoyed our holiday in Ottawa and had a good hotel to come back after sightseeing all day.

I get that it’s a weird time for visiting hotels. But our room had a distinct smell. Not a good one. There are signs everywhere in the room saying Lysol disinfected and cleaned but why doesn’t it smell clean. Have been staying at Hilton properties in Ottawa for 15 years. Hilton garden inn airport and even the oldest Hampton on Coventry road seems cleaner. Stayed here a week ago and found hair. Wondering if this hotel is being used for quarantine. The good news is it’s fairly cheap right now due to COvid. However parking is 25$/night. The breakfast wasn’t good at all- take to your room type - Not an issue but just wasn’t good. Cold and old. Location is great and views are great from 17th floor facing parliament.

We wanted to treat ourselves to a more expensive hotel to have the convenience of being close to Winterlude activities. This hotel did not deliver. I will say that the hotel itself was clean, bed comfortable, room service delicious. But given that it's a 4 star hotel I didnt expect to find a rusty knife on the outside windowsill, a bathroom plug that didnt work, a musty smell in the room that didn't dissipate for our entire visit, no hot tub even though there is a pool, and the only breakfast option being a $21 per person buffet. In my opinion this hotel was not worth the price in the slightest. Next time we'll stay a $10 cab ride farther away and pay half the price for a bigger room with a hot tub and continental breakfast like our friends did. I expected more from a Hilton.

Great little spot, short walk to byward market and parliament. Had Lime scooters right outside the hotel.. Indoor parking lot was a great touch, felt very safe leaving my vehicle here for our stay as I walked around the city

Stayed here for an couples overnight getaway in January 2020. Arrived early, room was ready and they allowed us to check in early. Room was neat and tidy, bathroom was clean and updated. Had a late lunch in the onsite restaurant. We really really enjoyed the food. Would for sure eat there again. Underground parking was convenient and reasonable but it is not suitable for larger vehicles. Bed was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed our stay and would absolutely book here again.
