Horrible experience. We went to go for a picnic in this area, and immediately after parking, a woman yells at us saying that we can't be there. Now, we realized that because of COVID-19, many public parks have been shut down, so at that point, it may have been our mistake. Nearly 30 seconds later, the same woman starts taking pictures of our car as we are driving. We were pretty confused as to what was happening, so we stopped and talked to her. Turns out, she works at the Sandy Beach office, even though she was clearly drunk and in a hazed state. She said racist phrases, and was extremely rude and difficult to talk to. As we drove off, she took more pictures of our car.

I have been looking at getting a little spot by a lake for about a year and a friend of mine had a little patch on Sandy Lake. My husband , son and I went for a few hours in the evening and we had the whole marshmallows and camp fire thing. We met some of the neighbors and really started to like this little cheesy travel trailer park. But it is when we left all "H" broke loose. As we started to walk back in the dark we heard a very drunk voice holler from down the trail . It was a female voice and yelled " Who are You !" In a drunk slur. We were quite put off by this yelling in the dark so we did not answer. The voice came closer to us and it was a lady and a man with a flashlight. The lady was so drunk she had to lien against the man for support . She told him to make sure she does not fall. He shored her up a little more then the lady yelled demands on who we were and where we were going . I answered with " just going home". She yelled " Where is home " I said " far from here." We continued to walk to our truck. Then she grabbed my arm and I told her to " Do not touch me" We stopped and I turned to face my attacker and she started accusing us of being drunk and she shouted profanities and calling us names . She said she was going to call the police and I invited her too. I was really wanting to get away from this woman who was following us. Again she asked who I was and I asked her who she was. She said that she was the owner of the whole place. ........ That made me mad . I slowly got into my truck and drove away shaking my head. Here was an owner of an establishment that is yelling abusively and shouting profanities ! Completely inebriated and lacking any judgment. This was the owner of the place? I do not feel that would be a safe place to bring your family. I know my son completely stressed out. Don't worry I will never be back.

Upon arriving the spot that was designated was tight to back into. The small platform and picnic table were old and not well kept. The site was clean but upon hooking up to the sewage hose it had a nasty smell so I had to keep the valve closed and leave it in my tanks. Power was good and water was city. The park itself was like a parking lot so not really a lot of space to move the park staff was okay but complained about every little thing. Overall okay spot for a weekend but would not go long term or return to this campground.

We stayed here 2 nights during a 2-week RV trip. The owners are not friendly and our neighbors were very pretentious. Our electric cord broke the day before we arrived, and the rental company told us to just "run the generator". When we ran the generator on a 100 degree day, our neighbors sitting on chairs all day and drinking alcohol took offense to the "loud noise". The owner came out and agreed with them and told us to shut it off...to a round of applause. I should have called to police and complained that their outdoor party was disturbing the peace and much louder than our generator.

The RV spot we stayed in was not level and the water spout was broken as well.

Lastly, the lake (no fault of the campground) smelled and was terribly dirty. I was told by a local that a flood occurred earlier in the year dumping a lot of sewage into the lake right near the campground. Disgusting.
