I read several really bad reviews (after I booked our stay 😆), so I was worried about how it would be. Upon arrival, the front desk agent was very friendly and welcoming. Our room was clean, although a bit dated. The lobby and staircase smelled a bit like smoke (and perfume), as, for some reason, smoking is still allowed on this property. We were on the 2nd floor, and it didn’t smell smoky there. The continental breakfast was fairly basic, but it was great that they had a staff member preparing and bagging the food, to prevent people from touching the food. The walls were a bit thin (we could hear some kids running in the halls), but we were able to sleep well. Overall, a pleasant stay. Don’t come here if you’re looking for a luxury hotel, but if you’re looking for decent, basic accommodations, I can recommend this Travelodge.

Checked in early and our room was available.
Did not feel the lady behind the counter was friendly. Do not recall her smiling during our interaction.
We asked if we could reserve a spot in the pool during check in and was told to come back when we are ready to swim.
We went on our way to our room.
We left the hotel and came back about an hour later, and asked if we could book the pool.
The male at the front desk assured us that the pool is not busy at all and we should have no problem getting dressed and coming back down to use the pool.
Sure enough we came back and we were the only ones in the pool.
Pool is booked for a half hour times at a time and must show proof of vaccination and goverment issued id.
Went back to the front dedk and asked if there was a pizza restaurant that he could recommend.
He recomended Pizzaco a local pizzaria in Whitby.
Ordered from here and the pizza was delicious!
I finally asked the attendant what his name was, Will.
Will thank you for looking after us, and the delicious recomendation on Pizzaco!

There was ample parking. Breakfast was plenty and good Quality. In short I enjoyed staying there. My wife forgot her Sweater and when i called after a day leaving - they promptly responded and acknowledged that cleaning staff kept it safe with them and i can pick it up anytime. Thanks Travelogde for this.

We paid $160/night for a sports tournament as a team and the room had someone's leftover salad in the mini fridge and cake crumbs on the floor next to the bed. 1st floor smelled like a smoking floor and weed smoke. We didn't make the finals of the tournament so we had to pay 50% of the fee for the night we bailed on. Very strict on the rules for sports teams, I.e no running/loitering in the halls, but our floor was almost entirely sports teams with kids so not like it should have mattered that much if they figured that part out. Won't stay there again for that price. Barely worth $120/night even with the pool and free breakfast.

We stayed in room 104 this past weekend and requested a pet friendly room. The room was filthy, floors damaged, broken exterior door, half the rooms power outlets didn’t work, trim coming off wall, shower curtain heavily damaged, blank out curtain on patio door damaged, smelled like cigarettes, bugs in bathroom.

The service was disappointing from requests for enough pillows, a blanket for the pull out couch for our kids, inability to access cable tv, cleanliness of the room etc.

Staff were non responsive and passive with requests some of which had to be followed up on 3 times.

Expected amenities such as shampoo and conditioner were not provided and difficult to find for staff when requested.

We were not offered housekeeping services on day 2 of our stay or an alternative room.

The hotel is rundown, smells like cigarettes and poorly maintained. The pool has a hole in the wall with ‘wet paint’ tape covering.

We wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

If I could put less than one star I would. Do not stay here! Hotel is old, smells like bleach and smoke. The side doors don’t lock so anyone can just walk in. The rooms are outdated and falling apart. There was a stain on the floor in our room that looked like blood and water marks on the ceiling. No room number on the outside of the door and rust or brown stains in the bathtub.

They had the pool closed and told some people it was due to it needing repairs and told other people that it was due to covid. The breakfast is minimal and you cant pick it yourself or stay in the lobby to eat it, and the line up was very long only one employee working for a fully booked hotel (again due to covid rules that have all be eased except at this hotel). We asked the front desk if a small group of people could sit in the lobby as to not disturb other guest and were denied. We were told to be In our assigned rooms with the doors closed at 10pm or we would be charged.

On top of the amenities not being offered we were still charged a reg rate no discount. This hotel is probably the worst hotel we have ever stayed at and will never recommend. Please stay anywhere but here.

Other than getting more towels when needed (they only put 2 in the room every time), there is absolutely nothing good about this hotel. The staff were friendly, but the overall experience made that not even matter. This must be the only hotel left in Ontario still observing covid restrictions. When we called in to book we were not made aware of the restrictions this hotel still had in place and we should have been. We switched from another hotel to this hotle because they had a pool, but BEWARE the pool was closed due to "covid restrictions". The advertised hot continental breakfast was your choice of apple, banana, 2 different types of bagels, 4 different types of bread, muffins, yogurt, fermented apple juice and orange juice. This was being served by ONE person to a sold out hotel. We were charged a discounted rate of 180/night at team discount. We discovered these covid restriction upon check in and of course now its too late to cancel without being charged. When I questioned why they were the only hotel still with covid restrictions, they didn't have an answer other than covid. No further discount was to be given for the closed pool and extremely limited breakfast. The sign out front of the hotel and the website still advertised a pool and hot continental breakfast, even though neither were provided. This hotel should be ashamed of themselves. This is absolutely disgraceful. I will never recommend this hotel or Travelodge to anybody and I will never stay at another Travelodge ever again. I cannot believe that we were still charged as much as we were for a bed and a shower. I cannot believe the false advertising that this hotel did!!! I am so disgusted and frustrated!! I hope you are proud of yourself Travelodge. On top of this the fridge froze our food. The ceilings were peeling. The tub was full of rust. The office chair material was all peeled off and the pneumatic cylinder has lost its seal and was all the way down to the ground preventing the chair from wheeling around, you had to pick it up. The dresser was all peeling. The stairwells stunk like smoke and pot. The side entrances did not close properly. If I could give less than 1 star I would.

This is the single worst hotel my family has ever experienced. From the dirty, mouldy rooms with holes in the walls to the desk chairs falling apart and decor from the 1980’s.
The pool and workout rooms were closed with no reason provided and no conference rooms available. Security was a nightmare any time the kids tried to play in the hall or rooms.
Breakfast was bagels, hard boiled eggs or stale muffins.
When we tried to rent a conference room we were told they were all booked only to see a ground floor room made into a work room for sewing and being used at all hours of the night.
The staff was extremely unfriendly and ultimately I highly discourage anyone from staying at the Whitby Travel Lodge. Very sub par for Wyndham. Very disappointing.

What can I say this place was a total dump I was very disappointed when I checked in. I had to ask the housekeeper come in to re-clean the room the desk had crumbs all over it the carpet was covered with glitter and crumbs she had to re-vacuum the mirror that’s by the one bed was splattered with some kind of liquid all over it. The material on the desk chair was all peeling off the lampshades are from the 1980s. With tax I paid $150 for the room for the night definitely not worth the money I would not recommend this place whatsoever
