Reading with interest some negative reviews ( carpet too thick, not enough choice on breakfast bar)
I was in town for a high school provincial curling championship and booked a room at the team hotel. The location was good for us because we had games in North Bay and in Sturgeon Falls.
Reception was friendly and efficient. The lobby had a nice ambiance with attractive fireplace and decor.
The breakfast bar had ample choice in 3 sections. One included make your own waffles with table syrup, scrambled eggs, grated cheese, mini cheese omelets, vegan sausage patties, and peameal bacon. A 2nd had yogurt, hard boiled eggs, bananas, grapes, apples and 3 cereals. The 3rd had various grains- a crockpot of oatmeal porridge, bagels , multi grain bread, English muffins, banana bread and a variety of spreads. Coffee is always available. Breakfast was available 6:30- 9am but the staff started setting things out early to accommodate our schedule. They were constantly checking and cleaning! Can’t imagine what more they could offer!
My room was quiet, immaculate and bright, the bed was comfortable, the walk in shower was large , the water was hot, the sundries were in large accessible pump bottles. The frig is very small.
Our team, coaches and a couple of parents had to extend their stay to cover finals and they were accommodated with ease. We all had a great experience and would definitely return

We stayed for six nights during a family visit, and greatly enjoyed our stay. Even though our room faced the Trans-Canada Highway, we could hear very little traffic noise. The beds were comfortable and gave us a good night's sleep, and the complimentary breakfast buffet provided a good selection of hot and cold items to choose from. We especially appreciated the excellent service provided by the hotel staff team.
The only drawback is that the bathroom has motion sensor lights that turn on automatically whenever you enter, and we couldn't find a way to disable it. That's fine during the daytime, but jarring when you're getting up in the middle of the night. The night light provides plenty of light for us.
Also, our fridge was not working, which is surprising in such a new hotel. This is a minor complaint, since we didn't use it much.

We stayed at this hotel three times, while visiting a patient at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. It is basically across highway 17, and so convenient to the hospital. Parking at the hotel is plentiful, with lots of spaces out front.
Check-in was always a breeze. (Except the first time when we arrived at 4:30 AM, and the front door was locked, so we had to wait a while for the clerk to return to the front desk). Staff at the front desk were always pleasant and helpful.
The room was exceptional. So well thought out, and functional. There is a huge TV, small fridge, and small microwave. Excellent reading lights over the beds. Lots of functional storage, including a closet. The bathroom was great. Shower was especially nice and huge. Shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were all top of the line.
Breakfast was very good. Lots of options, including eggs, bacon or sausage, fruit, cereal, make your own waffles, toast, boiled eggs, beverages. Everything you could possibly want. There is plenty of seating, and it was never crowded.
Overall, this is a fabulous hotel, and I would highly recommend it.

We stay in North Bay at hotels all the time and thought we would stay at the Fairfield Inn this time. We were very disappointed with our stay. We booked a King Room via Expedia 24hrs before our stay and when we got to the hotel the next day they didn’t have the room we booked and paid for. At the time of booking (24hrs before) there were numerous room choices online in different price categories available. We chose a more expensive room choice that of a normal King room with a seating area. What we got was a handicapped accessible room which we didn’t book, with no seating area and handicapped facilities. We were staying at this hotel to celebrate our anniversary and that is why we booked the king room with seating area etc.. The handicap/accessible room wasn’t what we booked /paid for and had in mind for our evening. Further, the hotel advertises a 7am free breakfast. We had to leave the hotel by 7:15 am so we arrived in the breakfast area at 7am. Unfortunately none of the actual warm breakfast items like eggs and bacon/sausage etc (we don’t know what was offered as it wasn’t out) was available until we had to leave. We left at 7:20! We would hope that if a 7am breakfast is advertised that it is actually available at 7am and not 15-30 min later. So between not receiving the room we specifically booked and paid for and not being able to have breakfast other than a dry English muffin and a strawberry we think our $233 room a night wasn’t worth it and won’t be staying here again unfortunately.

Terrible nights sleep in a room that sits right next to the highway. Just wanted a good nights sleep … Not what I was looking for. When I asked for a change of room for my second night, the front desk told me that once guests left I could have a “good” room. I didn’t realize there were “good” rooms and “bad” rooms.

Booked this new Hotel during Christmas travels for 2 nights because of an approaching winter storm. Arrived at 4:00pm on the first night and cancelled the 2nd night since the storm was over and was told that I would get a credit for the 2nd night. After a week of checking my credit card With no credit I called the Manager and was now told that I would not get a credit for the 2nd night that I did not stay. They could do nothing to correct this issue and I would be charged for 2 nights even though I only stayed for 1 night. I have never had this happen in 40 years of staying in many hotels. This seems to be the Fairfield cancellation policy. I would recommend staying at this hotel if by chance you have to cancel.

This hotel had everything we needed for the night. We were stopping during a long road trip across a good part of the country. Free parking, all the room amenities you need, very clean, comfortable beds, Netflix and cable for entertainment, as well as breakfast included with the stay. It was easy to access from the highway, but there really isn’t any amenities that you can easily walk to. We just ordered in and got an amazing rest. We didn’t hear any hallway noise and were completely undesturbed. Highly recommend.

My elderly parents and I stayed 3 nights in an accessible 2 queen room. Problems....carpet too thick for my dad's rollator. He had a tough time moving around. Our accessible door swung shut too quickly. During our 3 night stay, no one cleaned our room. The beds were too soft. The horrible low flush toilet clogged. The shower was barely hot and I had it as far as hot could go. Not much selection for the free breakfast. Sadly very disappointing. The positive is the hotel was fresh and new. The towels were nice and thick. I thought it was a higher class hotel....NOT.

My boyfriend and I stayed just one night on our way to New England and had no complaints at all. The hotel is very clean, rooms are spacious with comfortable beds, and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. The complimentary breakfast had a lot of options, all the typical Marriott offerings. The location was great along the highway while still being quiet at night.

I have stayed at Hampton Inn North Bay a few times and decided to try this hotel. It is new, and this is the only compliment I can give it. Locations is not good. No food food or drink within walking distance. One hanger and no ironing board in the room. Fixed when asked. Safe in the room not bolted, which is worse than no safe at all. Told front desk. They said they would fix. Not done. No housekeeping. I asked for it and still no housekeeping. Apparently they are short staffed. Staff ok, but clearly inexperienced. Breakfast choices rather poor. Cheap yoghurt rather than greek yoghurt that they have listed on hotel page. Next trip I’m heading back to Hampton Inn.
