My husband and I stayed in the hostel over a 3-day weekend. It was our first time in the city and we had been looking for an economical place to stay. This lovely hostel was everything we needed and left nothing to be desired! The common areas are spacious and gorgeous, our room had a large window that we could open, the staff was extremely accommodating and it was right downtown! Very close to the grocery store and super close to a Catholic church, so we didn't even have to search for one. If we visit Fredericton again, we will certainly stay here!

My girlfriend and I stayed one night here and had a great time. The room was small, but clean with a comfy mattress and for the price, I was really amazed. The owner was extremely gracious and helped us at all turns. The location is nice and it's a pleasant and quick walk to the downtown area. Absolutely worth every cent and more. I can't wait to go back.

This hostel has some excellent qualities. There is a very friendly atmosphere... the staff remember who you are and do a very good job of bringing people together for a night out. There is plenty of common space. The location is excellent. Best of all, you get your own room for the price normally paid for dormitory style. It's not the fanciest place, but frequent hostellers will appreciate the Fredericton HI very much.

Because of the time of the year, I was probably the only hostel guest. The other people around were students who rent some rooms during the off-season. The bathroom was dirty (flooded with water, paper lying around) and there wasn't really a place to sit down and eat (or at least I didn't find it). The surveillance camera in the kitchen made me feel a bit weird.
All rooms are dark and kind of outworn. The living room is still comfortable though.
In summary, for an HI-Hostel I expected a bit more even at this time of the year.

Just returned from a very comfortable, 3 night stay at HI Fredericton. Greg and the housecat, Thomas, are truly hospitable. Private room, firm double bed, shared bathroom, but sink in our room - very quiet and great sleep. Kitchen was a little small, but there were very few guests this time of year (winter) so it was not a problem. It's a very old building with no frills but the common room is very comfy for reading or watching TV and having a cup of coffee. Location is Great! Easy walking distance to almost everything. Lots of good places to eat nearby.

Fredericton was just supposed to be a one-night stop over for my fiancée and I, but after staying at the Fredericton International Hostel that one night turned into two, and then three, and then four! Fredericton itself was nice and all, but it was the great experiences we were having at the hostel that had us coming back again and again.

The hostel itself is in an old house quite close (walking distance) to the downtown core. It's comfortable, quiet, has all the amenities one could ask for in good accommodation (kitchens, laundry, games room, living rooms, dining room) plus it is hands down half the cost of staying anywhere else. The staff are some of the friendliest and most accommodating staff we've ever encountered at a hostel and, literally, every request or question we had was dealt with swiftly and to our greatest satisfaction.

I had a really great time at the hostel. The place is clean, with well-equipped kitchen, big and cozy commom areas and fully furnished rooms.
The location is perfect, just 15 minutes up to university and two minutes downtown to all the pubs, clubs, shops etc. Don't miss the Farmer's market and a night at the Tannery district with live music. There is also a river with beautiful trails for hiking and biking within 3 minutes. Freddy isn't a big city but very cute, just typical for the Maritimes.
Staff is friendly, helpful and available 24/7. They always know what is going on in town or on campus and take you to all kind of events so that it's really easy to get to know new people.
I can highly recommend this place no matter whether you are planing to stay only for a few nights or for long term (Insider tip for students: staying at the hostel is a lot cheaper than staying at a university residence and you will get to see a lot more!)

the hostel is a spacious older building with long corridors and a couple of stories --- you have to be careful not to get lost! but despite of its bigness, it has a totally homely and comfortable touch, comfortable living rooms where you feel at home at once and several kitchens. the price is very low and you get a spacious single room. the furniture and the house are older, but the hostel is clean. the guy working at the desk is a very friendly, helpful and open person. I had a great time in fredericton and at the hostel, a place where you can make friends!!

My wife and I stayed here four nights, and found the hostel an excellent value, especially at the price. The staff were very helpful and were eager to share information, both on Fredericton and the province of New Brunswick. The room was small but private and adequate. Some of the building is worn, but modest renovations are underway. The common rooms are comfortable and homelike. The hostel is ideally located just minutes (on foot) from everything in the historic district of the town, which has a lot going on for a town of its size.
As is the case in many hostels, our room would have been much more liveable with a few inexpensive improvements: a mirror, and a few shelves and clothes hooks (actually, the more the better). Also lights suitable for reading in bed were absent; these are almost universal in European hostels but seem to be rare in North America.
