this resort is an older building, but well kept and very clean. The pool was closed due to Covid. We chose the 2 bedroom suite with full kitchen. It was very roomy with lots of closet space in the bedrooms. The bathroom counter was nice and large, the shower strength was good. Lots of hot water. The tap in the bathroom sink should be changed, it was hard to regulate the amount of water you got. The staff were excellent and super friendly. Due to Covid there was no in-room cleaning, but we could exchange towels as often as needed. There is AC in the bedrooms, but not in the common area. There are no screens on the windows. There are several BBQ's on the property to use, and they looked brand new.
We were lakefront view which is nice. On the ground floor we also had outside space with a picnic table. The downside is noise. Lakeshore is a very busy street and people drive up and down all evening until around 9:30. Lots of very loud cars, music, motor bikes, etc.
Smoking is not permitted inside, but is outside. I found that still too close to me. One guest was cigar smoker. I had to go inside each time...…
Kitchen accessories are minimal, but adequate. We brought some extras of our own as we had done this before.
The beach is big with lots of trees for shade. We had to remind a few people to keep the safe distance of 6 feet from us.
The area is quite walkable with a nice promenade between the beach and Lakeshore.
The best part - the ice cream store on site.

Booked to stay here with my family and some friends. They were incredibly accommodating, Finding space for 4 families at a busy time.

Not fancy, but everything you need for a nice relaxing stay. Location can’t be beat, right across from the beach and with an ice cream shop right on site. Kitchens and BBQs made eating “in” easy. Staff are incredibly nice and keep everything clean and plenty of towels.

Yes, it’s an older building. It’s not fancy. But it was one of the nicest Okanagan stays my family has ever had, at an incredible price as well.

We’ll be back!

The facade is quite dated and the motel needs a lot of work but the rooms are surprisingly alright. The beds are large and comfortable, the TV is up-to-date, and the rooms are mostly clean. The service is brilliant. The lady managing the front desk was there for our every need. The location is one of the best along the strip. However, the toilets were dark and small, the exterior walkways are falling apart, and the blinds are broken so privacy is non-existent. Although the toilet wasn't an issue at all, I was surprised the blinds were in such condition and the manager had no way of fixing them. Credit to the manager, she offered us an alternative room during a very busy period and got us sorted.

This July we had the privilege to stay at Golden Sands Resort in Penticton, BC and it was fabulous!! We were on a fun trip with our six children and we couldn't have been happier with the place. The accommodations were spectacular and suited our needs perfectly. We rented adjoining rooms that consisted of one studio suite with 2 queen beds and then a one bedroom suite that included a pullout couch and a complete kitchen. It was perfect. There were hardwood floors throughout and the suites were quite spacious so we had plenty of room and didn't worry about ruining carpeted flooring! There were brooms and dustpans in each unit as well so we were able to tidy up and deal with the sand that we inevitably tracked in. This resort is directly across the street from the huge public beach and we definitely enjoyed that feature. Fast and easy to get to the beach and enjoy the elements. There was a fabulous ice cream place right next door too so that was a fun bonus 😀 There are quite a few great restaurants just doors away as well, and grocery stores nearby for all of your family needs. The location of the resort was perfect as well. It is on the west side of the beach nearest to all of the amenities in the area. Our children enjoyed an incredible water bouncy type adventure park right across the street and then we rented a 6 person Surrey bicycle cart right in the other side of the resort! There is a great pool as well in the courtyard along with plenty of BBQ places and grass to enjoy right outside your door. Tara and Jeremy run the place and are right on top of all of your needs. I couldn’t recommend them more! It was a great family atmosphere and we spotted lots of groups getting together. Perfect for parties of all kinds. We were right next door to a bachelor party with people hanging out outside (they weren't crazy!), but there were no noise concerns for either of our parties because the air-conditioning units in the suites provide a great white noise that neutralizes any outside noise. It was perfect. We didn't bother anyone with our noise and we weren't bothered by anyone else's noise either. It was really great on so many levels. I can't recommend it highly enough!! We had the opportunity to enjoy this fun town with our family and had all of our needs met. It was easy and very convenient and fun. These accommodations will be perfect for you, you will not regret staying here. 😊

Disappointing to say the least. Been coming here since I was kid. The room was nice and spacious, so good on that part; however, it was SO dirty. Caked on dirt on all baseboards, walls, ceilings, etc. The shower towels looked like they weren't washed (there was crusty stuff on them)..
The fridge was very loud and was dripping water from the inside so our groceries got all wet.
Our room had no blinds in the front window, aka no privacy. My sister was sleeping in the living room on the pullout sofa (which was so dirty - photos below) and we had to make something with one of our two blankets to cover the window.
When we told the front desk about it, they told us they couldn't get anybody there to put them up until the day we leave. Not helpful or understanding at all about how uncomfortable it is to have your front window fully open to everyone else in the motel walking by your room 24/7.
Seems the rooms (at least the one I was in) are not well maintained at all and it seems the staff don't care about it or the satisfaction and comfortability of the guests.

This is the worst place I have ever stayed. Dealing with owners, management and staff all had the same result; nobody cares. We got put in the wrong room and overcharged for what I originally booked. We had no soap, shampoo etc and when I asked for some was told 'the hotel doesn't provide any'. The air conditioning could not be adjusted and the room was so cold with no additional blankets and the bed was the most uncomfortable lumpy 'mattress' I have ever had the displeasure of lying on. At one point the water was shut off and when I asked about it apparently they were to have mentioned that. We stayed one night and that was one night too many. The pictures provided for the site definitely do not show what you are getting. I would tell everyone I know to avoid this place no matter the cost and I am not even a hotel snob.

Upon entering our room there was a strong chemical odor which I am guessing was Raid as the window sills in both rooms were COVERED in dead flies. Live flies were all over the bathroom and I found dead ones in the kitchen drawers as well. The room was very dirty. We let the office know and there was nothing they could do until the next day so we were stuck in that room for the night. We moved to another unit the next day which was much better but that first room put a damper on our experience and of the motel overall. All rooms could really use a deep clean (walls, doors, etc).

Great location across from the lake with a patio and picnic table to sit outside and people watch, that's where the positives ended for us. Our unit, unfortunately, was filthy. It was the dirtiest accommodation we have ever stayed in. The beds had clean linens and the towels had been changed, but I'm skeptical anything else in our unit had been cleaned before we arrived. The appliances were not clean inside, the refrigerator had a spill in it that had poured out onto the floor. The oven had cheese that had melted through the racks and onto a tray underneath from someone baking a pizza directly on the racks. The bathroom did not have any toilet paper, no rolls at all, there wasn't even any hanging on the holder when we arrived, just the empty cardboard roll. There was toilet paper on the floor, though. The toilet bowl didn't look like it had been cleaned in weeks, there was an orange moldy ring around the water line. There was mold growing on the shower curtain, not just a bit, but a lot. I asked if they could provide us with a replacement curtain, that I offered to change, but was told they didn't have any extra. There was dust on the ledge of the counter behind the sink that made me suspect that the bathroom counter had not been cleaned. When we first arrived, and I noticed the mess in the fridge, I went to the office and was given a bottle of multi-purpose cleaner and some rags because the cleaning staff were gone for the day. I ended up cleaning myself, with what I had. There was a broom in the kitchen, without a dustpan that I had to go get. When we were leaving on our last day, I looked under the beds to make sure we hadn't left anything behind and discovered that under one of the twin beds it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. It was full of dust, hair, and garbage from other guests. So, the entire experience was very off putting. I don't understand what their business plan is, but they obviously need to fix this. Needless to say, we won't be returning.

The only thing decent about this place is the location - directly across from the beach, above the ice cream shop and next door to a great restaurant. That’s where the positives end. The room was disgustingly dirty. It appears maintenance of the exterior building and rooms is a low priority. Stay elsewhere!

One of the worst hotels to date. The owner has no regard for the safety of its visitors or employees. With absolutely no security or camera system on site it has become unsafe for children, families, and the public and needs to be shut down. The labour board among other agencies need to get involved before another poor soul dies here and or someone or an employee gets seriously hurt. Should not be in operation.

They are just normal white blinds which do let some daylight in. I would bring something to cover the window better for your little one.
