I was very happy to see how clean this motel was on my recent stay. Although an older motel, it has been updated as the bathroom was new looking. The room had wood floors so I liked that. The site was quiet by 10 pm which was nice. There were lots of families staying there and using the onsite BBQs. I had a studio kitchenette room on the ground floor. While I did not use the kitchenette, it was clean and functional with a stove, fridge, microwave and plates, cups, utensils and towels. This motel is a few minutes walk to the beach on Skaha Lake. Gilligans ice cream is right there too. I was visiting family who were staying at the RV campground down the road and it was just a 10 min walk to get there. The area is safe and quiet even at night or early morning when I was walking. 100% I would stay there again.

Stayed 3 nights at the Beachside with our family of 4, along with another family.

Pros: kitchen is very well appointed, picnic/BBQ area is fantastic, location is like no other, Skaha Lake is the best! The staff is awesome. Very kind and willing to help.

Cons: our room was not clean, our feet turned black walking on the floors. Beds and pillows are terrible, I would guess they are originals (gross,) Bathroom is very small, no room for anything. Generally more storage space would have been nice as we brought a lot of our own food to cook. A/C units are only in the bedroom so the sleeping area in the main room was hot and uncomfortable. New linens would also be nice as they appear to be very old. The WiFi was spotty at best, as in it only worked one day out of the three.

We also suddenly had no hot water, but the staff was quick to address the matter.

Our friends had a mouse under their stove. Enough said.

Chose this cute Motel because it is a great location with a 2-minute walk to the beach. The Motel staff is super friendly. There are BBQ's available for guest's use, outdoor tables and chairs, and a few restaurants within walking distance. The staff are very helpful. Ask for anything and they will do their best to help you.

Prior to booking the Motel, I read the other reviews and one reviewer suggested bringing an extra blanket and roll-up foam mattress for better comfort. I did but didn't need to use the blanket as what was supplied was enough and I always bring my own pillows. I brought along my rolled memory foam mattress and used it simply because I had it with me. I slept well and there is air conditioning in each room.

My standard room had a queen bed, coffee maker, cable TV, microwave, air conditioner and toiletries. The room was clean, and comfortable. Would recommend and definitely stay again.

still coming to this hotel for the past 5 years. it's very outdated hotel but very close to Skaha lake.
the price these days maybe isn't high but $200+ per night for this room is s very questionable number.
the beds are awful, they are very squeaky and loud. when one person steps out of the bed the whole room wakes up. Plus if there are two person in that bed and one leaves than the other person going up and down for a bit as the mattress has coils in them and they are not very of a good quality.
fridges are small and temperature in the food compartment isn't cold enough to keep you food as its supposed to be so we have had a few items spoiled well ahead if their expiration date.
No room cleaning during the stay ( we stay up to a week every year) but somebody comes occasionally and asks if anything is needed.
Plus you never know what kind of room you are getting into as they permit dogs and cats to stay.
But the location is good and at the and that matters.
the staff is friendly.
the price at the ice cream kiosk has sky rocketed and now it cost $9.00 for a one scoop of it and the place is rarely busy at all. Greedflation at the best!

we decided to get a head start, so we headed out of vancouver early afternoon on the way to the rockies. our first night was at the beachside motel where i have stayed numerous times before and enjoyed the grassy area. all was good with the room (small with a queen) which had a decent sized bathroom with toiletries and a microwave oven with the coffee amenities above next to the bed, no room for a desk. price was a bit steep for what we got compared to what we use to get in the past with separate bedroom and kitchenette around the same price, but these weren't available.
everything was clean and a comfy bed, though an extra pillow would have been nice waiting in the small closet. great people working there, but do miss the dutch family that use to run it...they did much more to make it appealing to guests and kids.

i still like this motel and location...will be back ( bigger room next time)

I stayed at Beachside Motel on Saturday, March 19, 2022, for one night. I am someone who has backpacked all over the world and does not need a luxury hotel. My first issue was a boom box blasting music from someone's room at 11:20 pm. I tried to call the front desk but no one answered. After the boom box music ended, I had to listen to the neigbour's TV, which was very loud. There isn't a lot of insulation between rooms, so definitely bring your ear plugs. What really turned my stomach was the urine in the bathroom. I was having a bath and noticed that there was a large yellow stain around the base of the toilet. I thought it was the lighting so I took a damp towel and wiped it. It was urine and lots of it. They need to get better cleaners and clean around the toilets. I will not stay there again.

Beds were hollow and hard, felt and heard every spring.

Top bedspread was very dated and yellow brown in colour, it made the whole place feel and look dirty. Extra blankets looked unwashed.

Air conditioner in bedroom only, leaving guests on living room bed to suffer the heat.

Air conditioner was too loud anyhow to use during the night so we had to turn it off.

Extra lock on door was only a chain, but on ground floor it did not seem enough.

Very basic. We would not recommend to others.

Friendly staff and location did not make up for poor quality of room.

Price point was similar to other places on our trip and this was by far over priced for what we got.

I have been coming to Pentiction for 18 years and have gone to Gilligan's at least once ever time. Their portions use to be very generous. This time I order my usual two scoops which use be more like 3 was barely 1.

I not sure what happened but should be embarrassed with this new portion control. Also might want to remove the signs on the wall for their portions because it is false advertising.

I booked this motel because all though it was noted as a 2 star, the visitor ratings were 4 star.

The bedroom curtains had holes in them, the towels were threadbare, the TV was very old, and despite the best efforts of the cleaners, it felt old and battered.

The nicest things about the place were the flowers and bird houses, so if you want to spend time outside, that was a good feature.

We stayed at the Beachside Motel for two nights with our German Shepard. It was great as there is a large park just across the street which we were able to walk him at and the beach is close by. The staff were friendly and we felt very comfortable there with our dog. The room was clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay there again when travelling with our dog.
