Nestled in the heart of Banff, Brewster's Mountain Lodge is a hit for its central location and value, with many travelers finding the parking fee reasonable. The lodge charms with its clean, rustic ambiance, comfortable beds, and Pendleton bed covers. Service at the lodge is often commended for being helpful and friendly, especially the front desk's adept recommendations. While the rooms are praised for their comfort and cleanliness, some guests mention noise and a lack of air conditioning. Amenities like jacuzzi tubs and a hearty breakfast are popular, though housekeeping can be hit-or-miss.

We were diverted to Banff from Jasper due to forest fires and were due to stay at this hotel 2 days later called them to add two extra days only to be quoted $1100 for two nights bed and breakfast. Realised after a while that pretty much everywhere in Banff is expensive even though the hotel is only 3 star level.

Check in is not until 4 pm and your luggage is just left under an open staircase, it is in view of the reception staff but when we came back to take something out of our cases nobody asked who we were.

The room was a good size, ensuite had a shower over the bath, TV reasonable size, heating but no AC, a safe but no fridge included

There is an eating area in the basement not many tables so might be a problem if very busy. Breakfast was included it is fairly basic but certainly better than nothing if your expectations are low you will find it fine.

A previous hotel we stayed in Banff gave out free local bus passes but the Brewsters does not it would have been a cheap small gesture we would have appreciated.

The hotel is situated among the bars and restaurants there was some late night noise but on the whole it was well sound proofed.

Brewsters is a 3 star standard at 5 star prices but you have to pay Banff rates so expect to pay that everywhere.

We booked this originally through expedia (I tried to review on my phone and could not leave a written one through Expedia)
Adam and the other gentlemen there that evening who's (forgive me) name I can't remember were both wonderful. Both were warm, friendly and welcoming. We had minor issues with our TV which were promptly and more than adequately addressed. We were happy to see they were following COVID protocols very well. There were hand sanitizer stations readily available at any high traffic area (elevators, main lobby) and the hotel itself was clean and in visibly good condition. We booked and stayed in a suite. The room was very nice. It was clean on arrival and we had no complaints. This is an older hotel and does not have air conditioning in the rooms (at least not the one we were in). It was hot the day we arrived but the access to the balcony was great and it cooled off enough in the evening to cool the room. There is currently construction on bear street, however we were staying on a Saturday evening so they were not working and truthfully it did not take away from our enjoyment of the balcony or the view. You have good views of Sulphur, Tunnel and Cascade mountain from the room. We were very happy with everything and would not hesitate to stay here in the future. A special thank you to Adam and the coworker who was with him on the evening of 09/05 for your friendly greeting, quickness to assist and overall pleasant demeanor. Thank you both for helping to make our stay so pleasant.

My partner and I stayed at the Brewster mountain lodge, through the ski big 3 package. This place is decorated with a cute rustic look, located centrally in the town and offers a continental breakfast as a part of your stay. The staff where extremely friendly and provided us with helpful information and advice during our stay. One minor point for improvement would be to offer a scale for tourists to use upon their stay. All in all this place was amazing and definitely would stay here again

Pros: Hotel is in central location in the center of Banff within walking distance of all shops, restaurants and the shuttle bus to gondola.
Room was ok but small. Some have a balcony. We had informed the hotel we were celebrating a wedding anniversary and the hotel left a small bottle of sparkling wine and chocolates in our room.
Complimentary cookies were at reception desk but were never offered by the staff. We only found out they were complimentary when we asked.

Cons: No air conditioning in room. There was a fan but was not enough to cool the whole room. There was air conditioning in hallway which was on so strong that the hallway was actually cold.
Our reservation was for 3 adults but there were only 2 bath towels provided. Called the reception on arrival but no one answered. Left a voicemail but no one responded. Had to call again the next morning then finally received another towel.
No fridge in room. Indoor parking but have to pay extra for it.
Breakfast was poor, limited choices for hot breakfast, sausage patties were cold. You were asked to clear your dishes from your table. You had to walk up and down 2 flights of stairs to get to breakfast room and there was no elevator to get there.
Gym room had a small wall air conditioning too weak to cool the room. Also the gym lights were motion sensors so would go off frequently if you stopped moving.

Overall, disappointed and will not stay here again.

First, rooms have no A/C. We lucked out staying the 1st week of Sept and the weather was mild to cool so we did not need A/C. In fact we had to run the heat at night and it worked perfectly. We opted for a Deluxe King room since we stayed 8 nights; it was enough room for 2 adults with enough storage & space for all our things. Everything was clean and worked except the bathroom door rubbed the frame that made a loud screeching noise every time you closed it. The next morning we told the front desk and that night when we came home it was fixed! Don’t know how they did it so fast but we were extremely grateful. Comfortable bed & linens. The bathroom was adequate and we appreciated the Jacuzzi tub. Mini fridge was plenty large for our supplies and leftovers. Our room on the 2nd floor next to the elevator was quiet; never heard folks in rooms or the elevator. Our room also opened to a shared patio that was very nice and quiet. Housekeeping was hit or miss; some days towels were not fully replenished and/or tea was not restocked but it was the exception not the norm. The free breakfast was adequate; when we got there early every morning it was fully stocked with plenty of places to sit. It’s the same menu every day but we were able to make the best of it and get some variety. We paid for the onsite underground parking and it was well worth the extra expense as parking is expensive in Banff. It’s a tight squeeze but if you go slow and are careful, you should be OK (unless you drive a Hummer). The hotel is in a great location in the heart of it all. Tons of places to eat within 1 block of the hotel. Can’t recommend in the summer because no A/C but if you go during cool/cold weather, it’s recommended.

First off, I do acknowledge that things are far from normal with all that is going on right now, plus added to the mix road/building construction, it all added up to making getting into the lodge rather inconvenient. Having said that once getting initially checked in I was sent to the wrong room, not sure whose fault that is, got that sorted out and finally got into the room I paid for. Nice enough, very comfortable king bed, big open room, with a fan supplied, iron and ironing board, plus roller block out blinds. Spa bath comfortably fits two, however the bathroom is rather tight, very small shower designed for very skinny people. I picked this place because it included a breakfast, it turned out to be very underwhelming, it was ok I guess, could do with some improvement like actual edible fruit. The staff are very friendly and approachable no complaints there. One thing I highly recommend if you do choose to stay here, bring earplugs or a noisy fan as you can hear everyone's footsteps throughout the night. It is in a wonderfully central location, my wife and I enjoyed the convenience of just being able to leave our car behind and walk every where. It's pretty hard to have a bad time in Banff.

Thank you for taking the time to submit a thorough review Gary. We are sorry for the issues you had with your room mix-up but glad our staff were able to get you situated appropriately in the end. Hopefully you have a chance to visit us again during more normal times; or at least when the Town has completed the street renovations they are doing this year.

We stayed here in September and it was just fab.
Such a great location, it was part of the pedestrian zone that had been implemented and had underground parking which was good value for money.
All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The breakfast is a little basic but helped us out when we had to get out early for a trip, although busy. We went later the next day and we had the room to ourselves.
Our room was spacious, we were allocated one of the fab rooms overlooking Bear Street with a balcony. Loved it, with an awesome view, comfortable chairs on the balcony and although there was a bar opposite we didn't hear it late at night.
Bath salts were supplied for the jacuzzi bath and the room was very clean.
I loved it and would happily stay again, I've recommended it to friends who are going next September.
Thank you

Last minute stay that costed way more than it was worth. Prices are high right now but $232 per night for a motel like stay is absurd. No fridge, temp control didn’t work in the room, shower head was terrible, very loud all night AND you have to pay to park your car in the hotel parkade. I have stayed at much nicer hotels and even the more expensive ones don’t make you pay for parking. No hot tub is disappointing and the “hot sauna” was not even ready for us when we wanted to use it.

This hotel is worth $120 a night max for what it offers, if going to banff spend your money elsewhere and get your moneys worth.

Also a tip for those staying here or the staff - check the alarm clocks so that there isn’t an alarm set for 530am from the previous person to wake you up on your vacation. Come on.

Although the hotel enjoys a very central location right in the heart of downtown Banff, there were a few niggles which you wouldn't expect when spending nearly £390 GBP (around $680 CAD) a night on this kind of hotel.

The reception team were very helpful and greeted us warmly. The hotel benefits from parking which is underground, and can be difficut to find so make sure you book that in advance.

The main reason we picked this hotel was that it included breakfast, something which is very rare in North American hotels I find. I can see why they do this, as it felt somewhat of a gimmick. The breakfast room, called The Nook, is basically a room with no windows in the underground carpark. It's also access via the underground car park so not terribly appealing. You also have to clear your own tables...like a some kind of school canteen style environment!

The breakfast offering itself is very basic as others have commented. There was some pastries, one flavour of yogurt, some dried up orange slices, cucumber, tomato, breads, cereals and 2 hot items a day which didn't always belong together. Others have commented on the position of the two toasters in the room, which are tucked in a corner amongst everything else which is far from ideal and caused bottle necks most mornings.

The bit we found most disappointing about our stay was the room and the housekeeping service. As we say, this not a cheap hotel by any means. Therefore, the bathroom could really have done with a full update and overhaul. It was very 70's in style, tired and dated. We also found the towels were worn and sometimes didn't look the cleanest. The rooms also do not have a fridge, this caused us a big issues trying to keep some medication we needed to be cool. We had to resort to ice buckets being changed constantly.

The rooms have a kettle for making hot drinks, but no plug socket near by that's long enough to use without having the ketting left on the floor, not the best from a safety perspective.

The wardrobe was basically a hanging rail by the door, that was it. There is a iron which was helpful.

Most disappointing was the attention to detail by the house keepers. We found they turned up very late each day, and forgot to replace basics like coffee stirrers, which of course you only notice when it's too late! They do not make your bed.... when I'm paying this much for a hotel room, I'd kind of like my bed made as even budget brands do this!

The amount of laminated signs around the hotel giving various instructions was also a little off putting and tacky... not needed.

Overall, I would not return as I didn't think it was good value, and I would not recommend.
